Some years ago I had a job where I was permitted to work up to 15 hours a day with up to 7 of those hours being over time. Problem was I lived a bit of a commute away and it was too expensive to live in that area. I had three coworkers who lived near me who also wanted to take advantage of the extra available overtime. So one of them finds out about this guy who had a four passenger helicopter and would pick us up in the deserted parking log behind my house and drop us off at work and then take us home again at the end of the day for $100 a day. By car the commute was 90 minutes each way. By helicopter it was 12 minutes each way. This meant each of us got an extra 2.5 hours of overtime per day. So that added up to an extra $82.50 in gross overtime per day each of us and the helicopter rides were $25 each of us round trip so we each were able to earn an extra $287.50 a week after paying for the ride which meant we still earned more than base pay. The only time this didn't work was when the weather was bad in which case we simply didn't earn as much overtime on those days. The pilot was happy because he was earning money when he was normally just sitting around waiting for clients. Mostly he took people out for Arial photographs and charged $300 an hour but he gave discounts for regular customers.
I did personal protection after retiring from the Marines. A family I worked with use to have the nanny drive the kids 90mins to school mon-fri. This could be revolutionary for disabled folks. One of the biggest problems right now if you have to travel with a wheelchair is not being able to trust major airlines not to literally destroy it on every conceivable level. This usually requires a ton of extra preparation, fees, begging them not to break it and then having it broken anyway.
