Hi beautiful! There’s a slight chance that MAYBE…remoisturizing your hair often could be the root of dryness. When you put product on the hair, it makes it hard for moisture to enter. So maybe try to wash your hair more often. You may notice improvement. :-)
This year for my hair has been life changing. I learned so much of the science of hair and how to apply it to create healthy practices and reap long-term results. For example, the feeling of “dryness” vs hair being “dried”. My hair is perfectly fine when it “feels” dry because hair being wet actually makes the hair work harder. So, it’s been a wonderful learning process and I’m excited to put these into consistent practice next year.
And sorry to hear about your breakup. My dear lady, you’ve had quite a year and God strengthened you. Even when you felt weak. So! Keep your head up and your faith high!

I thought the same because my hair hates when I re-moisturize when I already have product on it. Even just re-wetting my hair and re-doing my style without applying additional product dries it out badly, so I have to wait till wash day to do my hair which is every 7-10 days. I used to wash every 4-7 days, but the longer my hair gets the longer I can go without washing.

In my case it's been the opposite I've become more consistent this year, specially since April, and have seen great results like moisture retention and manageability. I wash my hair weekly in the summer (I sweat more) and every 2 weeks in winter. What helped me stay consistent is remembering the damage that my hair used to suffer from my neglect, and feeling motivated from seeing the lenght retention and health of my strands.
Edit: Also maybe you could use a satin pillow case OR cover your pillow with a scarf of that material (like I do) that way you won't forget to protect your hair. I've been exhausted many times from college and the covered pillow saves me.

Please go get a professional trim Acadamia . It’s the best thing you can do for your hair as a lazy natural. I understand life happens , trust me 🥴. But I do think your lack of trims is causing the overall breakage of your hair . I used to be an advocate for trimming my own hair . But I noticed I had to trim more because I was missing spots, which kept me stagnate for 2 years. My hair spouted with professional trims

Thanks for the video. It really does help for me to see you finger detangling and moisturizing your hair - doesn't matter how many times I've seen it before. It teaches and motivates me every time. So please keep it up. My setbacks this year from 1) Getting my hair done at a salon and she ripped my hair out with some sort of tool. 2) Protein overload has plagued me this year. I have tried new products that contained too much protein for my hair. Also, the stylist at the salon that I visited put some sort of liquid protein on my hair. UGH! I'm being super consistent to find my way back from the damage done.

. I had some hair setbacks as well, mostly because I’d been ignoring what my hair likes. My hair likes biweekly detangling and deep moisturizing sessions and my hair also doesn’t like being slathered with products and grease without some cleansing . 2023 I will re experiment with cowashing and shampooing with moisturizing shampoos. I also think after I finish all the hair grease i own I will try a natural grease like the Camille Rose Gro grease or something similar because my hair hates Blue Magic and other thick hard greases… thick products have not been kind to my ends and I’ve accepted the fact that my ends are busted but to remedy this Ive started to wrap my ends in a hanging Bantu knot around itself…. Natural since I was 9 and I’m still learning new things about my hair:) but genuine creators like you and videos like this give me hope. Keep doing u sis❤

I love your video! And, I know you don't know me, but I'm quite proud of you for getting your ears pierced. Congrats! Religious trauma is tough to escape and heal from, and I'm super proud of you for overcoming the guilt (that's a common feeling to go through when doing something you'd be normally be ostracized/disciplined for ), but your're making progress! As a a survivor myself, it was very hard to work through, but I'm happy where I am today, even though it meant I'd had to distance myself from family.
On the hair side of things, I've found that I've been washing my hair too often. Once a week just dried out my scalp and my hair, exacerbated my psoriasis, and just gave me further breakage. So, I'm cutting back on hair washing. I also bought way to many products; for the future, I'm going to simplify things.

Same here. But I learned that my hair is 100% more healthy if I add water. Washing once a week has help with keeping my hair hydrated, and throughout the week I use a humectant to draw moisture in. I learned that trying to keep it stretched with grease, etc.. and leaving it alone has damaged it a lot. As soon as I stopped this habit, my hair is literally flourishing. I just feel so silly thinking about how much length I missed out on had I not been worring about shrinkage all the time. I learned that my entire body loves and needs water, including my hair.😊

You’re definitely not a bad person for piercing your ears. Humans are meant to explore, grow and evolve. I can respect the therapeutic value that religion has in someone’s life, but realistically (and empirically), all theistic religions are made up. If you want your time on this earth to be guided by religious rules, cool. But if you want to guide your own life with exploration of what makes you personally happy and whole, that’s cool too.

If a religion is made up then one shouldn't practice it. People don't practice their religion for "therapy" (at least I dont) they BELIEVE it is TRUTH. It would be like me saying your beliefs aren't real so you should stop. Idk if I'm making sense to you but I'm trying to say that to some, religion isn't a set of rules to make you a good person. It's a set of beliefs about the meaning of life where we come from etc. It's not something that is meant to be dropped bc someone doesn't feel like it anymore.
Side note: I'm not saying any of this to hate on Staranda (hopefully I said it right) and im not dissing her piercings at all. I relate to her a lot, navigating being a Christian is a journey with God that's not always easy.
