This girls voice is incredible. I like it better than the original tbh. Its nice to hear it get changed up a little. Well done.

Interesting fact: Benjamin Burnley, the lead vocalist, did NOT want the remix done. Only two members of the band gave the record company permission and both were kicked out of the band and the company sued. Reason them being kicked out was they didn't have consult with the rest of the band and didn't have permission to make that choice on their own. Oh BTW, I personally hate this version.

To everyone here, "that girl" actually did create a harmonic sound between the two voices and lightened the tune of the song so quit being so stubborn and let other people have their opinions. You don't like it, good for you. Personally I enjoyed hearing them both sing together. And for anyone out there not stubborn to say, "no your wrong" to this comment, the girls name is Valora and she has a fantastic singing voice. In my opinion, I don't care which version of the song you like as long as your not an immature brat about to say some smart ass remark about how I am wrong. And if you do think she has a nice voice then I congratulate you on not being a child.

I grew up gaming to this song...now, every time i listen to it...I have 100000000 memories race through my mind at once...and I've listened to it ever since Breaking Benjamin released it. (since 2007 at least) and this cover is decent, i'd say.
Wow, I actually like this version better than the original... The first time her voice came through with clarity I got goosebumps...
the very beginning matches Halo 2's sountrack so well with the chants/chorus
halo 2 got me to like this band. and every time i play halo mcc and when i get to this part of the game with this song i switch straight to classic version. best song

the song was specifically composed for halo 2. the intro plays on the level "Outskirts" and an instrumental remix plays later on the "Gravemind" level.
It's been eleven years, but no, the one that plays in Gravemind is the instrumental of the original version. This is a later version, released way after Halo 2.

Still I think it's Ben's fault, it wasn't a big deal, bands have always had shitty versions done and they don't over react to it. It was just and ego issue from his part.
Because the original is better and this abomination should have never been made. And like the other person said, it ended up breaking the band up. Of course it all worked out in the end for Ben.
Because this mechanical voice just does not fit to the song tune. Nothing against it - there ARE literaly lots of songs that could fit this performance so well, but not "blow me away".

I'm not going to go with the typical "she ruined the song" or "this sucks" but damnit, this version makes it hard to find the original with decent quality. Most of the links I click on say Blow me Away, but tend to neglect the "featuring Valora" part. I prefer the original, so this makes things frustrating. :P

i tend to agree with you. i have nothing against her mind you, but i just love ben's voice on it's own, plus, the orginal song that i fell in love with was the solo version of low me away from this album, so it makes sense that the version i heard first and fell n love with is the one i prefer.

Dusted off my old xbox today popped in halo 2, and resumed the campaign and this song started up while I was fighting brutes and elites.

I love her voice, I love it when songs with a deep male voice mix with a high female voice. To me this is better than the first one. Haters just hate because they feel she ruined the band so they won't listen with their heart and ears only with their hate. This song is beautiful and where the first song brought about a feeling of death and despair (Yes I love the first song too) this one brings a feeling of hope.

Since some people are not very handy with Google, this song was in fact created(written) specifically for Halo 2 (which was released in 2004). I am of course referring to the original version of this song. A few other artists worked on the soundtrack of Halo 2 such as Steve Vai and Incubus.

Chase Chisholm well, during the release of the greatest hits album, two of ben's friends accepted the money from the studio, and they allowed them to change it...without telling ben. ben proceeded to fire them over email and protested the album. that's why there was that hiatus for years, he was suing their asses

I love these dudes, they sounds sweet every time I listen to them. Breaking Benjamin and Skillet are my two favorite heavy alternative bands. I love these guys. This and Give me a sign are the two best. I like how well their songs are written, much better than all that popular stuff with a billion views each.
