Lake Powell houseboat life has always been on my bucket list. Luckily, after our trip to Zion National Park, we had the opportunity to drive from Kanab, Utah to Page, Arizona to stay in a Lake Powell houseboat at Antelope Point Marina.
From Northern Arizona to Southern Utah, Lake Powell covers over 1.2 million acres, with nearly 2,000 miles of shoreline. Lake Powell actually a man-made reservoir on the Colorado River created by the 700-foot Glen Canyon Dam.
Antelope Point Marina set us up with a beautiful houseboat rental, including four bedrooms, two bathrooms, jacuzzi, rooftop bar, and water slide!
This may be the first houseboat I've ever stayed on, but it was definitely one of the coolest accommodations I've ever stayed in, period.
We started our trip from Page, Arizona where we rented kayaks directly from the marina and took them through a few of the many inlets of Lake Powell before returning to the houseboat for dinner.
The next morning we did jetski rentals for the day to see as much of Lake Powell as possible!
We made it all the way up to Last Chance Bay (in Southern Utah) before turning around and heading back to the marina.
It was an incredible 24 hours for my first-ever visit to Lake Powell, and I will most definitely be back again with a large group to have a true Lake Powell houseboat experience!

Don’t forget about about upper and lower Antelope Canyon next to Lake Powell! It’s costly but worth of seeing!!!!

This brings back so many great memories. I spent several summers on this lake and it is definitely something you should put on your bucket list. If you love the water, you must go! The views get grander as you move up the lake away from the marinas. Would love to see more!

I've been going to Powell since I was a kid. Had several family reunions there, the one year we had 7 houseboats and over 100 people! Since 2013 we've had a private houseboat and go with a bunch of friends. Such an amazing time. I highly recommend you get a group of friends together and rent a houseboat for a week. The memories you'll make will be the best and last a lifetime!

We rented a 40’ pontoon with twin 150s.
It was incredible. We loved the slide and jumping off the top. The water is cooold! Remember much of this water is hundreds of feet deep so if you drop something it’s gone.
Cruising to the end of Navajo Canyon, climbing and exploring was awesome!
I hope to go back for jet skiing and kayaking.
The lake is awesome in every way. We had 3 generations from 7 to 79 on the boat. It seemed like another planet. One of my best days.
Antelope Marina seemed poorly run. It smelled, had overflowing garbage and lots of time was wasted at the beginning and end of the day. Perhaps this is due to employment issues related to Covid 19.
I like seeing new things but I’ll probably do this again.

Amazing video. I work here at the Marina with Valet and Security. Came across this video. Awesome. Be sure to check out Rainbow Bridge, Dangling Rope, Cookie Jar, Padre Bay, Alstrom Point, Labyrinth Canyon oh man you name it. The water is going down amazing low too but I hear it’s going to be going back up starting next month. Awesome video hands down. You made it look cool. I walk these docks everyday. You should arrange for a Charters here with Antelope Point Marina they do good stuff here. They could take you out lake wherever and drop you off with kayaks and do amazing stuff and come get you the following day or same day. Not sure how they work. Thumbs up video.

Worked at the south rim grand canyon one summer in college and If we got a few days off we’d trek to lake Powell to camp and explore! It still looks good 🌊 I enjoyed watching you guys jet skiing on the lake! It’s given me a great idea for a houseboat Party vacay in 2022- Seattle gets dreary 😂 🌧

Me and my brother almost drowned when the staff rented us a seadoo with a huge hole in the side of the hull that they covered with duct tape and was not visible while sitting in the water. I was 13 and swam that half submerged seadoo a quarter mile back to the beach so my parents didn't lose their deposit... Good times

I live in Page and this is a long going debate. Funny you mention it. No Glen canyon dam, no Lake Powell. The dam is in AZ. Being a local I see it as an AZ lake. But, you're right. Come one, come all! Its a playground we can all enjoy. 🤙
Were you able to see the lower part of antelope canyon? (the part that's not on Navajo land)
Did you have to do the house boat in advance? And how long in advance?

Don't miss Horseshoe bend and Antelope Canyon then cross over to Monument Valley.

Did you make it to Horseshoe Bend & to the Antelope Canyon, (both very near lake Powell)?
I visited both of these a year ago, but didn't visit this time because Antelope Canyon is actually closed during the pandemic.
