Hi Jaired, thanks so much for putting together this comparison. A few notes. When Instamic is in recorder mode, the LEDs act as a VU Meter when recording. In the Pro version they are green, in the Pro Plus they turn red to make it clear that the device is recording. Your Instamic was most probably wrongly configured as an Hands-Free Profile. In that case the VU meter is showing what Instamic is streaming but it is not recording. In our tests, the Instamic Pro Plus records 4.5hrs with one battery charge, continuously. Maybe after a few years it can drop to 4 due to aging. I personally find the 32-bit Float as a key feature in portable recorders like Instamic because you will never know what you are going to capture and how loud it might sound. Put it on and forget about it. In other conditions where you know what you will capture (like mounting it to a handheld mic) 24-bit can do the job. AI apps are great add-ons for us filmakers but they work better in English. Some no-English users might not get the same improvements when "generative speech" is involved on top of speech denoising. Firmware and software update is a way for us to improve our product and squeeze everything out of it. I like to deliver new features to our community that they ask for. It is my favorite part of Instamic's business to listen to the community and talk with my colleagues. I just finished a 10 days production with 20 units around and they delivered every single take. Timecode, 32-bit Float, waterproofing. My production team is enthusiast. I completely get your point about feeling confident to record though. I found myself loosing a video taken with a Red camera several years ago and I still remember it. I have never missed a take with Instamic honestly but it is also truth that I know my little boy :) I will be happy to send you a white sample to test. Have the TX650 & TX660 in my kit alongside the RØDE wireless GO 2 and Zoom H4n for all my audio requirements. Never failed me once. Keyword for me has been - *REDUNDANCY*
Sony need to make a 32bit version of the TX660 and ability to set the frame rate recording has it has an issue with time skip at least from my experience

Yeah the Rode Mic Pro 2 is a great option to consider as well. My only thought with the Rode System is it would function similar to my Tascam DR 10L's with a lav mic so for me theres no need. The reason the TX is appealing is form factor and simplicity. Its an easy way to capture quality sound in a pinch without having to mic up people separately. At the end of the day you could go with any of these brands and capture quality - so it really boils down to preference and budget.

Just ordered one, had my zoom die mid speeches and had to resort to using shotgun mic audio which was not good. Never again. Thanks for the recommendation
I got two of the new Instamic’s and I’ve been having a ton of issues. 😩. I also just ordered two Deity PR-2’s. I now have 14 lav’s/ and small recorders. I need to sell some stuff 😂

Its still a solid option for a lot of folks - my few negative experiences were enough to deter me from seeking a more reliable option but again it was more of a user error because I didnt update the firmware but yeah still a great option to consider!
Can anyone drop some good AI solutions to improve my audio? Sometimes the bride does not want a mic so I mic the officiant and the groom and have to boost her audio significantly to match. Sometimes it introduces too much noise or just doesn't sound as clean as I would like. Thanks everyone for any suggestions for audio newbies!

I can't seem to get a foot level that doesn't peak from the TX660, even on the low mic sensitivity - that's why it's my 2nd backup.

My instamic just did same thing...showed that it was recording...got home and no files..didnt capture any of the ceremony...I'll be ordering a tx660
