You just reminded me, I bought a smoking tin I put in the gas Weber, it worked really well with a whole chook! The tins fairly small but kicks out heaps of smoke forgot smoke cooking, and I got that in Bunnings, can't see why that wouldn't work too 😊
Hi mate, Have just bumped into your channel and subbed. Have hustle seen a few of your vids. I have a few questions. I have always been interested to get into spear fishing have always thought spear guns were only allowed offshore etc. I have seen a few other youtubers do it in creeks etc with hand spears. Does it matter which one? Second question is, you're obviously spear fishing in the tweed river which is in NSW. I have checked both NSW and QLD legal size for sea mullets are 30cm. How do you go about spear fishing them without measuring? Do you just shoot the biggest one? Honest question cause I always thought I'd be safer to target something that doesn't have a legal size? On a side note keep those vids coming! You have just about identical amount of subs as me :) 👌💪
Hey thanks mate. Most river systems spearfishing isn’t legal but there’s certain parts of the tweed river it’s perfectly ok too. Measuring the fish under the water while they’re swimming is part of the spearfishing game 😆 I’ll only pull the trigger on a fish if I know it’s well and truly legal. When you first start, everything looks bigger underwater so just be aware of that! It’s an absolute blast mate and I recommend getting into it. Tweed is also an awesome place to start, mostly on the top of the tide when the current is slow and water is clean 😎

@@charleswilliams2453 that’s strange, I try to reply to everyone, sorry if I missed some of your msgs. I haven’t actually explored much out there, have you? I plan too .. cook island is green zone though yeah, have to be a fair distance off it . Heaps of good ground I can see further out from there on Navionics 👍
@@danyoungy no dramas at all, yeah close to the island is a green zone , but further out there’s some shallow reef from 5-20m , thats where andreno do there free diving courses , a bit closer then palmy for you to, And sometimes in the tweed river where you spear near that rock wall that goes under water at high tide next to that deep hole, try the opposite side of river alone the rock wall, that other side use to have bulk 1m flattys in that bay but got rapped a few years ago
Diamond scale mullet up around the sandy straits are good tucker as well!! Great video.

How far up the Tweed do you have to go to spearfish? Years ago I was bloody fined for spear fishing in there 🤦🏻♂️

Try mullet in egg and breadcrumbs. An oily fish, but a yum fish. Same for tailor and mackeral as well.
