@@beepboop_ because Yuki was 1 sec behind magnussen about to do over take when RB asked to swap the position. Also let's be clear, Yuki disputed for 1 lap. That is totally understandable considering what he was trying to achieve on his end. In the end Daniel didn't have the good pace to over take Mag so their strategy didn't work out anyways. If that happens then they should have swapped back the position in the last lap because if you see the pace throughout the race, Yuki had better pace than Daniel. They even DISCUSSED this strategy option before the race. Yuki acting like this ruined the dvantage of the softs by taking so long, i mean ric could have raced yuki but that would have costed the tyres massively. if Ric got position right away and he didnt manage to overtake he would have given it back at the end. these strats are used all the time. when ur car is meh u have to try everything for the driver/constructors standing stats for PR and sponsors.

Let’s get the situation clear, the team asked Yuki to move aside, they did this because Daniel had a quicker stint on new softs at the end & they wanted to optimise that situation. Yuki had worse tires than Daniel at the end of the race & he should have moved aside when asked to straight away. Daniel did nothing wrong here. Daniel was only one & a half tenths of a second behind Yuki in qualifying, people in the comments saying Yuki owned Daniel this weekend are unbelievable..it was super close all the way through. Daniel was faster than Yuki in P1, P2 & P3. The hate for Dani is unbelievable here. The real disgrace is what Tsunoda did at the end of the race to Daniel who did nothing to deserve that crap from Yuki.

The Silverstone test to get him in the car, he was running hot laps at the same pace as Verstappen (he tested in a Red Bull not Alpha Tauri). He also had not driven a real F1 car in like 6 months or so, and hadn't driven a red bull (which have a very specific driving style comparative to renault/mclaren) in 4 years. He was able to essentially match Verstappens time within a single test session. That is his raw speed. If you seriously want to say that Ricciardo isn't fast/doesn't have speed, then you would have to say equally that Verstappen doesn't have speed. And I'm sorry, but even as much as I hate him as a driver, even I will say that Verstappen is fast.

Why not swap back if Daniel couldn’t make up any places?

Swapping back had absolutely no meaning. A call to swap back almost never happens. It wasn't the only swap in the race. But he was the only driver to have a hissy fit about it.

If the same situation arises in the future, of course you're going to give up your position, right?

Ricciardo has a record of being a good teammate and a sane adult, yes. Unlike honda pay drive Yuki.

I dont understand why that team has hired Laurent the guy who screwed up Ferrari. Was there no real talent there? Ist there a assistent to Hannah Schmitz who could have taken ver? anyone is better then this guy

Bottom line is Daniel has been disrespecting Yuki ever since he came up to RB, always saying that he was going to be the next Red Bull driver. He asked if he could pass Yuki and the strategist says “oh OK“. Why do you think he is no longer working at Ferrari? And what kind of teammate calls out his own teammate like that? Sounds toxic to me.
