Great video dude. Awesome demo of Dex. I have an ROG phone. I love the specs and IO, but the Desktop Mode via Developer Options still needs time in the oven. Dex very well could be exactly what I'm looking for. Other than that, the only current downside I've noticed with these AR glasses is that all of them are shaded sunglasses. I'd much prefer to have a completely unshaded view that I could then modify with elecrochromic dimming. Then if I needed further blackout, I'd attach a physical blackout visor clip. I'd also like a full custom face gasket blackout option for ultimate immersion, something akin to what Bigscreen offers with their Beyond VR goggles.
The problem of all XR headsets being sunglasses by default is that they lose their subtle look when used in doors. Culturally in the States, sunglasses are customarily reserved for outdoor use, so you kind of stand out when wearing these indoors in a group setting. another downside to them being shades by default is night driving and navigation. You technically could use them, but that's a bit dangerous to be driving with sunglasses at night, let alone having a video on top of that further obscuring your vision. Clear lenses paired with a "Driving Mode" would be a perfect use case for night drivers such as myself.
Excellent suggestion on the black wallpaper and relegating a small area in the corner for desktop icons. Keep up the good work and thanks for the videos. This one in particular really highlighted how these devices can be integrated into everyday life fairly seamlessly. Cheers!

I get what you're saying with the glasses being shaded already. I think the reason for that is because it helps see content better in most normal lights, and also by having them dark, they hide the things the images are projected onto. Not sure what they're called, but they'd look ugly without the shade. You are right though, a completely clear to photochromic option would've been the best.

Looking forward to doing setups like this, but I also wanna try to find someone that makes a bluetooth mouse in the form factor of a wearable ring or a little handheld joystick. That way the phone can just go in the pocket and the whole thing operates with minimalism

I wanted to give it a shot, so I tried using navigation with a full helmet. It was really hard to use, and here's why: First, the frames are too big. I felt like I lost 40% of my vision, especially on the sides because of the large frames (which made it hard to change lanes). The reflective glass also blocks the view a bit. It’s very hard to see at night; it’s like driving in a completely darkened car, which was very difficult for me. I could only see a very small part of the road where my flashlight shone. When you drive in sunny weather, they distort the light a lot, creating something like a rainbow, which is very straining on the eyes. I thought it would be cool to have just one display so that you could see where to go with one eye, and I will say that this is more than realistic. But unfortunately, I didn't modify these glasses, since they are not cheap, and decided to try Vufine for this task. Honestly, it was very convenient to just glance and see where to go instead of turning your head or picking up your phone. However, it was constantly turning off, which made using it not very convenient either. So, it would be convenient if you could turn off one display and if the frames were smaller. I've realized for myself that it's not completely safe and, by the way, it's very hard on the eyes. If you have any advice for this, please leave a comment. I would like to know if maybe someone else has tried it in diff conditions

Thank you for posting your experience, i definitely get some of the things you were saying. I haven't tried it woth a full face helmet, so it's hard for me to say. Also, it sounds like you don't have samsung dex, or you didn't use the side view mode which puts the display/navigation to the corner rather than your main fov. I hope they can make the profile of these glasses slimer in the future.

Only with oled you get a true black background. The image quality of the Air2 Pro is very good.
I love my Xreal Air2 Pro with Beam. I wish the Beam had better hardware for playback of video's. Or maybe the VLC app is not very efficient.
The Samsung Dex also has touch enabled with touchscreen monitor.

Sounds like your devices don't support display output. Not all usb c ports allow video output.
