Nice one Matt!
Thanks for checking us out and for the great review 😎
Wow thanks for watching XREAL 👀🔥
@@MattRobb 😎❤
He’s great at what he does!
When will they be available in Canada?
@dsueee Dude genuinely have no idea I didn’t even realise they aren’t out here
I received these yesterday, and after playing with them for about 24 hours they're going back. These things are only half-baked, especially if you're a Windows user. Their software is still in beta and there's a couple of alternatives out there, but they're not fully functional either. There's a lot of blurry. Hard to see areas near the bottom and top of the screen, which makes it almost impossible to use the icon bar at the bottom of my windows desktop. The resolution is low enough that it feels like a giant downgrade from a medium size monitor. Maybe I would put more effort into making them work if I traveled more but just for day-to-day use, they are a no-go. I will look again in a few years.
Thanks for this. Gonna wait too. I actually waiting for apple take on ar glass. But turn out they release vr headset.
These will never replace anything you already own. In my case, I use them to game on my Steam Deck, and they're awesome-no neck pain and no cramped hands.
So I got the Viture Pros today and I almost feel the same way you feel man. They are cool, really they are, but I don't think this is where we need to be in order for me to pay $500. I guess my Odyssey Ark spoiled me pretty hard.
Is it really good if I just use it for watching movies?
@@Zkinner yes, if you just want them to watch movies or video games they are awesome, but only if you also buy the beam. The glasses on their own are not so great.
Nice vid bud ! Tech is getting smarter and smarter 😎. Always exciting to see what's coming next 👀
I bought them, plus the beam device a while ago. I'm super happy with them!😎👌
Can you work with it for 2 hours straight? Looking at code, sheet, etc?
how is the experience of watching the movie on it ?
I own a pair of the original Air, not the Air 2. The video mentions that there's Nebula windows software. That's sort of true. If you go the website, it says that the Windows Nebula software is "coming soon." It's been coming soon since the original Air glasses were released under the "NReal" brand. There is a way to download the beta version, but if I remember, you're downloading from someone's Google Drive (a little sketchy). Even if you do get the Windows software, you'll need a PC with a good NVidia graphics card (no integrated graphics) to run the virtual desktop. That's the only way to get the multiple virtual screens. Otherwise, you basically are just getting a mirrored copy of your screen at the same resolution, just larger as if you hooked up your PC to an external monitor.
Solid review! Loved the gaming aspect super dope. But you missed out talking about the battery life.
I should have mentioned it doesn’t have a battery
I did talk about how long you can use them when I talked about the xreal hub. Thanks for watching dude!!
Just echoing Matt: Our AR glasses don't have a battery, as they are powered by the devices you plug them into!
@@XREAL_Globalsounds dope, I wear prescription glasses, can you guys do custom prescription orders thank you
Hi, can I ask a few questions about the glasses please. Firstly I wear reading glasses for my computer, will I need the prescription lenses to use them, I don't wear my glasses with the Meta Quest 3. Also do the glasses need power? Do I charge them and how long does the battery last if I do? and finally, can I just plug the supplied cable into things like Nintendo switch at the bottom, MacBook Air (type-c port) and iPhone 16 Pro Max and play games or do I need to buy an adapter? Thanks in advance.
I have 2 Quests and an Apple Vision Pro. I ordered these to use while working out. If it works for that without my phone being too much in the way, great.
Don't be a consumer pig bro
Apple Vision Pro was so nice! I’m so jealous!!
And the good thing about the iPhone, even if you had them directly connected, you don’t have to worry about using the USB port you could put your phone on a MagSafe charger and charge it wirelessly why the glasses are connected
same with samsung
it's so ironic that people say they want to save the climate, but they use wireless charging.
smart
Is there anyway to turn off your phone screen while using the xreal?
My Honor 6 pro turns off the screen after a while and xreal is continuing to show
does it has HDR support? or is it irrelevant cuase of the dimming feature?
This is a very informative video! Can these be used with Bluetooth headsets?
Yes it can but you need to connect the Bluetooth device directly to the beam or your phone
Thanks. I do have one question i am hoping you could answer? When wearing these glasses and mirroring your phone for let's say watching a movie or whatever, can you at the same time only have it play on one of the glasses and have the other one turned off so that, you can still see through one of them??
I haven’t found a way to turn the device screen off yet so the answer is you need both screens on.
@@MattRobb Samsung Dex has that function.
Yeah, I know Samsung phones have that function, but I mean in general across all devices there doesn’t seem to be a way of doing it apart from dex
@MattRob Do I need the XREAL Beam if I just want the screen in the top corner of my peripheral vision?
Basically yeah which kinda sucks
The only other way of positioning the windows is on a Mac
n your opinion, what are the best glasses for graphic design such as Maya and Blender that support multiple screens, 3 or 4 screens for windows 11
yea I was wondering the same thing how do u change the display size and are there multiple monitors?
Can i resize and move the screen to the side without getting the beam or anythinv if i have a samsung s20 fe. I think i have dex on it. I see dex. Just condused cuz copilot ai said this phone not good enough to have dex. But anyway can i resize and move the screen to side? Thank you
Does the FE support dex? If it has video output then you can use the app and then yes you can move the window to the side
@MattRobb OK. I see it has dex but not sire about video output. It has dex tho. There's also Nebula roght?
I have bad eyes and I use prescription glasses, can I put glasses on or use prescription glasses on it?
i think they come with frames, where you can buy prescription lenses locally and put it inside the frame. better to ask them first whether the frame is included or not.
I can’t wait the ROG Ally is going to be a beast with these things
Did you get some? I really want these with the steam deck
Sirven para personas con baja visión??
Just need an app with some external cameras for your hands. Fur hands free gestures to control your phone. That's inside your pocket or wherever? Almost perfect for outside phone use and actually useful. The everyday task could make new types of games as well.
They have the Air 2 Ultra that has inside out tracking and gesture controls. I don't have one because they don't yet offer it as a bundle with the Beam Pro, so I don't know how well it works.
Great Video.. always enjoy your Content 😎👍
Appreciate seeing you here dude!
@@MattRobb Anytime Bro 😎👍
This is exactly what I want Apple Vision Pro to get to.
Size-wise and form factor, maybe. But performance sucks. I'm returning mine.
@@chazcov08why? What's wrong with performance?
@@chazcov08yep. Why?
I do not understood.. so if buy beam i placed screen like a real screen with all stuff? (Console, PC ecc?)
If you have an android with video out through usb c or a Mac you can lock the screen in place while you turn your head. If you’re using any other device you will need the beam to lock the screen position. The beam also is a dedicated device which can run Netflix, amazing prime etc for content consumption as a standalone device
@@MattRobb Ok thanks! so Beam is like Rokid Station?
@Konteoro Yea but the beam has display port in and out and only uses usb c unlike the micro hdmi out on the station
i'm wondering, if i have multiple glasses, if i can somehow share that screen among friends. especially if my kids in the back of the car are trying to watch a movie on them
Seems that an Android update has now made it compatible with your Pixel 8 Pro? Have you tried this yet; does it work now?
I tried it and yes it does work I can confirm. The XREAL app is still not working but it mirrors the phone now
Is there a way to do multiple monitors for a windows computer?
Not at the moment from what ive discovered and the sharpness is an issue for many people so working with text is a no go.
@@Goropsyaiks. That’s a deal breaker
Is the XREAL Air 2 Pro let to connect to PC which will be source of video and in the same time source of power?
It’s combined in one single cable
@@MattRobb How? Neckband tutorial is explaining only that connecting PC to neckband via usb is giving possibility to recharge battery or transfer files
Do you need extra software for Windows extended displays?
The nebula app is required to project multiple monitors and have them fixed on space
Thank you for the information every review on this pair of glasses nobody people complain more than the benefits because I want to get a pair of these for me and my wife, but I wanted a true honest review not all I wanted to like it but Blasi Blasi
I’ll do a video in a month or 2 about my experience as it’s hard to critique the product after only using it for a short period of time
How would you connect a firestick to them?
Maybe with the HDMI adapter they promote on their page and a cellphone power bank
I’d probably use the new beam pro which is an android ‘phone’ (can’t make phone calls but like a tablet thats phone sized) and lets you use all the usual apps directly but with AR (so tracking the screen). If you have a phone/tablet with USB-C display out you can just use that and skip the beam pro but you’ll lose the tracking aspect and the screen will just be fixed in front of you
My Mac has 2.4 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9 processor. Is it compatible with it? or should it have an M1 Chip?
It will work with any laptop with a USB C port
Cool, thanks. Have you been using the glasses often?
I have low vision in one eye and am blind in the other. (1) can the left or right lens be turned off? (2) any reports on assistive technology use case?
Im getting these i have lazy eye ill let u know how it is
Do you feel dizzy after wearing it for one to two hours straight?
I personally don’t but I also don’t get motion sick or car sick
Will it work with iphone 12 mini if i use an adapter?
I think you need a special XREAL adapter for lightning then yes
They are currently not good enough to replace monitors. Maybe two years after 4k glasses are introduced.
I know this is an amazing product but does no one think it's quite expensive for what it is? I mean your phone or the device that you connect it to does all of the driving
Yeah I think it’s a bit expensive but I think that about most things now
The fact that it connects is why it has the potential to be more adaptable and let wearable technology move faster for less money, especially for consumers. I don't see a reason why you couldn't use a screncast receiver with Bluetooth enabled devices.
Depending on your monitor requirements, it's still potentially cheaper and it's way more portable. They also offer privacy and they can be used in more environments than e.g. mini phone projectors.
The Google Glass is perhaps the closest thing we've seen to smart display glasses that do all of their own processing. Before the program closed, they cost over a thousand and the developer software and support were extremely poor. They also had about 2 hours of battery life, were legally ambiguous if not banned and required a specialist repair service which has since stopped and yet they are still sold on the second hand market for more than these glasses cost.
Integrating existing processors into AR display tech could have been revolutionary over a decade ago. Wear OS development was just soul sucking. As a university summer research project, I was asked to use the Glass Explorer to make a QR code tour guide. Simple enough, right? The Glass was abandoned after a month and over 50 re-installations of Android Studio when 2 post-docs and 4 postgrads couldn't figure out why the scanner didn't even start. There was no way to know if it was the code or a limitation of the device itself. I had my report and poster completed within 2 weeks of starting the mobile app.
Thos don't seem to be Bone Conducting Speakers, instead they are acoustic speaker drivers - probably a better choice too.
Yes I realised now thank you
These would be perfect to use while driving my truck lol
DON'T
Can you use it with the playstation portal ?
I’m pretty sure it won’t work because the PlayStation portal doesn’t have video output for the USB C port last time I checked
A mini HDMI cable to USB C should do the trick for the Portal or any device with an HDMI mini port.
Beam pro was released
They have bone conduction speakers? I thought they were normal speakers pointed towards your ears.
You’re actually right they are just normal speakers I thought they where bone conducting because that’s what they feel and sound like
i can't fathom wanting to watch netflix this much lol. has anyone tried these with like cooking (recipe) or biking (map) or driving (map/gauges)? I guess that depends on how well they work with those APKs? or can it just stream from the phone?
I'd just be happy with dimmable sunglasses
Honestly same that’s my favourite feature
what about the blurry edges??
I had that problem on the Rokid AR glasses but not on these they maybe aren’t quite as clear as the dead center but they aren’t blurry like other glasses pretty sharp focus
@@MattRobb what about virture pro glasses. Because people who have reviewed this product complained about the blurry edges
@jamesikhimioya562 I haven’t tried those so can’t say
and if yours doesn’t have blurry edges then something must be really wrong. Because i just washed another review of the xreal pro 2 and he experienced the blurry edges he then recommended that you have to get the beam to reduce the screen size to get rid off the blurry edges
@jamesikhimioya562 I guess it depends on your facial shape and your eyes. Maybe my glasses fit glosser to my eyes but I’m telling you from my experience I don’t see blurry edges like on other glasses I’ve tried. Maybe they aren’t quite as sharp on the edges but I can still read text on the outer zones and wouldn’t say it’s blurry maybe just not as sharp
I want to know if you can hook these up to a Mac and have multiple windows open to work in. Like a calendar, and two google chrome browser windows. A mouse would need to be able to move between all them as if they were separate monitors.
Yes you can have up to 3 virtual monitors and turning your head transitions between them. You can move the mouse between screens
@@MattRobbawesome! So simple and really what it would be used for 90% of the time
@@MattRobbcan yo do the same in Windows ?
Would you say it’s possible to write documents and code with these glasses? Are businesses tasks an option, or is entertainment the main use-case?
I’m going to do a follow up video with my experience after longer use because it’s hard to criticise and judge upfront I haven’t had them long only 1 month. I would say hooked up to your computer it’s possible to code but you’ll have to increase the font size beacuse the glasses make text on a normal screen look smallish (it’s readable but not comfortably readable). It’s great for documents tho but yeah hands down the best experience is watching content or playing games.
Thank you Matt, that’s insightful! What about eye fatigue? Can I work for multiple hours at a time?
@maxonary it works for as long as you have battery on your device so if you use the XREAL hub you can use them permanently all day
@@MattRobb Nice! One last question: When I tilt my head or move away from my desk, will the virtual monitors still stay in place?
@maxonary You can tilt your head in any direction and even turn around and the screen will still be behind you but when you walk away it won’t physical stay in place like the Apple Vision Pro that’s more of a VR experience tbh
Damn, I thought they finally released the ultras.
Looks like the Ultras are going to be released in August (at least pre-orders). The Beam Pro orders have now been shipped.
Viture pros are the best glasses out right now. Fkn amazing
They look like the rokid ones and XREAL combined and had a baby
@@MattRobb nah, then they'd suck.
I’ll have to try them out, what’s better about them?
No, I've had both, and they both suck. Returned both sets.
@chazcov08 no problems with mine.
I mean no disrespect by asking: but can someone tell me what this accent is? It sounds American (not sure where) with English glottal reinforcements. Is that Canadian or just good-american? Thanks.
Born in England to English parents, went to an international boarding school in Scotland, worked in Florida for 2 years and now working in Toronto
What I don’t understand is do I need the beam for the cinema experience or is the glasses enough for the Steam Deck btw…..
For a steam deck you don't really need the head tracking features as you always want to see the whole screen when playing
Would like to watch my apple movies in 3D with this product.

Bummer! Old Tech! Way too much extras to accomplished the most simple things. I bought it and returned it. No worth it yet!
I’m gonna do a follow up video with some of the negatives good comment I’ll probably include it in my next video 🔥
Same here. I purchased them and they are now on the way back. This product doesn't feel production ready.
I don't like the slight upward angle you gotta look to get clear vision strains my eyes
Lee Anthony Lopez Karen White Joseph
After reading the comments thank you all you saved my money not buying them
They definitely aren’t perfect but I am yet to find a better solution tbh. I still use these glasses they are good for flights
Jones Sarah Williams Dorothy Robinson Robert
Here is how you know they are trash..the host waited til the end of the video to show us the glasses in action ..so out of a 15 min vid he spent less than 3 minutes on the ACTUAL product ..WHY? Probably because the product is terrible an he couldn’t find any content to build on so he tried to sell us on the benefits instead of the features which is classic car salesman tactic
They are incredibly hard to actually film. Try yourself to film with a big camera through the lens and align it correctly and keep it in position so you can use the features.
Lee Lisa Jackson Patricia Brown Dorothy
What is insane is anyone buying these 😂.
Bro's just ripping up cod mobile players with controller lol
Its matches you with other controller users to be fair but most of them play like bots 🤣
Yo that's what I do! I took a call at the same time too 😂
Can i get a free phone
yes you can!
I hear a lot of young people nowadays with that crazy accent. Unbawx. Where does that come from?
I’m British but went to an international school and I worked for an American company for 2 years during Covid now I’m moving to Canada so my accent is definitely going to get mixed up
@@MattRobb That explains it then. Cheers!
