This thing gets up and boogies, just imagine cruising down the road in your bmw e30, brand new in 1990 and this thing flys past you... what a sight to see
It's a beast of a car! I cant imagine how awesome it would be to drive one. I don't know too much about them but do you know if they offered any tuning for these during the production years? I think they started production in 87 and stopped in 92. It obviously wasn't as easy to tune up these cars back in the 80s and 90s but i'm sure someone tried
Back then if your pockets were deep enough then Enzo could arrange your brand new beloved F40 would have been pushing out 200 additional standing up wild horses.
@@Gercollector hey there...just stumbled across this video and you. I gotta say the F40 is a top 10 car for me of all time. Up there with other Ferraris like the 288GTO, 330 P4, 250GTO, and the original Testarossa. Anyway...quick funny story. When the F40 came out in the 1980s, i worked at a warehouse store called Pace (just like Sams and Costco) and we had a plastic model kit...i think it was 1/12th scale Revell or Testors model so it was a nice large kit. I purchased one and started building it. One night while building it, i had to go to a gig (I am a part-time musician) near downtown Atlanta. In between soundcheck and the show i walked out of the club to get some fresh and lo and behold...was a real bright red Ferrari F40. I could not believe it. I was in complete awe. So i call a friend of mine later in the week and relay the story...and for some reason he had been at the dealership that sold the Ferrari the day after i saw it and told me the F40 was on a lift...and he saw the underside of it...told me it was all scratched up and had a broken wheel. He said he was told the owner drove it the day before and broke a wheel hitting a pothole. The price of the wheel at the time was $3k!!!!
And is sweet to see it driven on the street, not hidden in some random collection waiting for its price to rise, because the owner think of it as an investment.
34 years after the launch it is still a fascinating car. And it is the last built supersportscar under the direction of Enzo Ferrari. Therefore the price to buy one is awesome
if all roads were tunnels there would be no non tunnels to compare the sound with and therefore you wont be able to appreciate the sound because it will just be normal, rather than special
Probably the greatest car from the greatest car company of all time. F40 is definitely my favorite. And thanks Gercollector for the great service of shooting this video driving this masterpiece, subscribed! 🙏
In my humble opinion this is the best (analog) supercar ever made and without any doubt the best Ferrari of all them all, despite not being the fastest. You can see that the driver hesitates (or even fears, i don't know) to go at full throttle. The F40 is total madness....Pure raw power and very aggressive.
The sound is incredible but you kept letting off just when the pulls were getting really good. Somewhat disappointing not to see this amazing machine truly release all of its power
Could have to do with max speed sometimes, e.g. 2:10 max speed is 100km/h and at 2:43 its unrestricted again and he floors it. Sadly a lot of stretches have speed limits and if it's up to the retarded political left, unrestricted speed disappears entirely :( Plz don't let that happen...
So does the turbo never hit its rev limit ? I wanted to hear the scream when you go full throttle, top gear, uphill and pressure limit is reached and waste gate opens.
Gercollector, this is becoming a +18 channel step by step... just can't thank you enough for sharing all this with us... for me the F40 is THE CAR, period. Even by today's standards its wicked fast, raw and for a turbocharged car sound is just spot on. Again, thanks you, hope some day I can go to Germany and be lucky to see you blast like this...
Naja also innen schön kann man das jetzt nicht nennen aber bei dem Auto (und allen anderen alten Autos) kommt es eigentlich gar nicht auf den Innenraum an sondern das fahrgefühl, der sound und leistung
This was the last car of its kind to be purely utilitarian in the truest sense of the word - absolutely no luxuries, not even an interior dome light or door handles! Just pure V8 power. An amazing piece of history.
I do not know if you will ever see this comment, but I would like to let you know your posts serve as a tremendous source of inspiration. I have been a car guy my entire life, and your footage brings me great joy. Thank you for sharing your collection.
What a beautiful thing.. I’m lucky enough to still be around knowing that all tunnels are really slippy when you first enter them (no rain) floored it for the exhaust noise.. had a ferrari sideways and didn’t crash!!
Thanks sharing! More of this please...would love to see spirited mountain drives in F40/F50. Such a video of these special cars being driven properly and pushed on the street have not yet published by anyone.
Saw this movie on December 30th 2020 for the first time. Made 2020 a whole lot better compared to the dates up and until December 29th. What a car and great sounds 👍🏻
How beautiful, how simple. Steering wheel, few dials, center gauges etc. Reminds me of Renault Broadway when I was a kid. Do not ask what has to do with this car; of course it is not comparable, but the simplicity of the interior and the fact that it is old in a beautiful sense is very, very nice. Not to mention that the exhaust rattles in between.
Driving the F40 - Slav edition :D in Adidas tracksuit. Best car in your collection! And awesome sound!
😁💪🏻

Great times back then
30 years later, still a sight to see
I'd be more than happy to get any of them 😉🙂
Imagine the same in an eastern or ex eastern bloc country back then. 5x as much shock.
This car is still insanely fast almost 35 years later. I can't even imagine what this kind of power looked like back in the 80s. Absolutely insane!

The only variants I know of are official Ferrari LM types.
It would like a sf90
Back then if your pockets were deep enough then Enzo could arrange your brand new beloved F40 would have been pushing out 200 additional standing up wild horses.
Oh man the pops and bangs are just music to my ears
True💪🏻
These are the good pops and bangs not from a upgraded Golf GTI or something.
