I don't understand why in the world anyone would give Ginny a thumbs down. I love your tuits. I've been sewing since I was 5, not mentioning how old I am, and always learn something new in interesting.
Perhaps it was not Jenny they were giving the thumbs down to, but the quilt block? Maybe they have something against big blocks and don't want this to show up in their list of liked videos. I can't imagine anyone not liking Jenny and her tutorials.
This just might be my grandson's next project! I love how you get the different blocks, just by turning the half square triangle units! He is currently working on his 2nd quilt and he is 12! "He gets it from his grandma!" 😉🤣😁
Thanks for slowing down! For taking the whole video step by step!!! I am an advanced quilter but hate when Jenny seems to be hurrying. This is my one and only quilting video for the week. So I cherish every moment of the video. Plus for all the new quilters see all the steps. You guys are great!!!!
😻😻😻. I want to make this a little less scrappy, all 4 chevrons the same and all 4 broken dishes the same in each block. Controlled scrappy. Thanks, Jenny, love your tutorials!
Jenny, love your attitude when you sew. You have such a wonderful teaching personality. You always make me smile when I watch. God truly blessed you with a wonderful talent. God Bless you and your family for the coming Holy Season.
I love big blocks...and I cannot lie. Laughed over that one Jenny. I was thinking the same thing so when you said it, it made me smile! Thank you for the great tutorials.
Thank you for always teaching as if this is the first quilt someone does, because it could be. I always look forward to Friday and seeing what you are making. Thank you so much.
When you trim your HST’s with the perfect slotted trimmer, you’re going to get a beautiful quilt. I love that tool! Love this pattern and Jenny, of course, too!
I am watching this in November 2020, and when you were cutting the half square triangles, and said, "If we're careful and don't move our fabric, this is pretty easy..." and then (oops) you moved your fabric, I just had to laugh. Not because I was laughing at you at all, but because that was sooo me!! Oh my word...thank you for not editing this stuff out, and for just being real!!
I love the blocks that have different units in it to make a beauty!! Just like your Antique Lace quilt. I would love to occasionally see a quilt done on point. That would be awesome!! It can take something ordinary and make it extraordinary, as Jenny loves to say!!!
I love those brag-able, “it’s perfect!” moments. Of course, it’s usually followed by several “expletive , I sewed it wrong!” moments. Teachable moment: never celebrate your successes to excess, or your failures will multiply! (Ask me how I know!) I love blocks and I cannot lie, you other sisters can’t deny, when a square comes together so perfectly, I get -feelings! Sorry couldn’t resist. But I do love this block. Sometimes, simplicity makes the biggest impact. And this does make an impact. There’s so much you can do with HSTs. Thanks for sharing Jenny. My week has now been fulfilled. Lol. Love you guys!
I know, isn't this a GREAT block!?! And, I LOVE big blocks; quilts grow rapidly with GREAT impact! I can't wait to make this one. Keep on quilting! Lindsay, Sacramento ❣
♥️♥️♥️ " Let me just brag, mine is perfect!". I love you Jenny. I do the same ( when it DOES happen) and I'm no where near your expertise level. To hear you say that made me feel better.
@@Leellka What are you talking about??!! Do you know how many *thousands* of quilts MSQC have donated to charitable causes? Please do some research before pointing fingers and ludicrous accusations. So easy to type nasty-grams -- bet you'd never think to say these things to anyone in person. Shame on you!
Jenny, I have Tulapink 10" squares and didnt k ow what to do with them but loved the fabric. Now I know exactly what to make. Thanks you are the best!!!!
I just finished this qult with my Robert Kaufman Topia Layer cake. It was so fast and easy and turned out beautifully. I am now making matching pillow cases for it with the directions you gave in your Pinwheel Frolic video. I just love your videos! Thank You so much!!
Hello Jenny & MSQC ❣I LOVE this quilt!!! I've watched this vid at least 4 times; I plan on making this quilt in 2 color ways. Yes, 2 quilts that I WILL be keeping 😁 I've had 2 layer cakes waiting in the wings for the "perfect" quilt pattern, and here it is (can't wait to get started). MSQC ROCKS; LOVE YOU ALL!!! Lindsay, Hot4Art, LLC, Sacramento.
Love this quilt! And the fact that as long as your original squares are all the same size to make the half square triangles, you can make this in so many sizes! i.e. 7 or 12 inch square instead of 10.
I LOVE THIS QUILT!!! It has just moved to the top of my "Must Make Quilts". I have all of the ingredients, and I can't wait to get started. Thanks, Jenny, for another GREAT tutorial! I LOVE MSQC. Huggers ❣
This has so many color possibilities!! I always wish that your videos showed blocks in alternate color/style combos.... but untill then I guess I will have to experiment myself! I am thinking maybe solids with each block having different colors but within a large block having each type of block be the same color. Also you could play with the background colors and use grey for most of it, but use white to highlight the star pattern that appears in the middle of the big block... so many choices!
I literally gasped when I saw this quilt! Spectacular! I'm a color-freak, so this is right up my alley. :-D One block would make a cute wall hanging or a table runner. Four would be perfect for a crib or lap quilt. All nine would fit nicely over a queen/king sized bed. Love this more than I can say here. You not only knocked this one out of the park, I think it went all the way to Pluto! LOL As always, a great quilt and a wonder video tutorial, Jenny.
I love the block. I wonder what it would look like without the sashing strips. I'll see when I make this quilt. lol Thanks for posting Jenny. It's beautiful.
Great video! I am going to try making one block in baby fabric for a baby quilt! Thank you for taking time out of your busy day to film wonderful videos for us!
This is great ♥ I love how you have been describing more detail lately on how to put blocks together ☺ it really helps beginners ☺ Keep up the awesome work MSQC and Jenny for walking us through everything you make ♥
Love this pattern & have several layer cakes in my stash to chose from....so will be making it very soon. Have been watching your tutorials for many years & have learned so much about quilting esp that the MSQC quilts look super hard to make but they are not! Love precuts!!
Pretty pattern Jenny. I’m making my first HST block quilt now (Night Sky) and I plan on making a lot more using HST. So far it’s going okay thanks to what I’ve learned from you. Thanks 🥰
Okay I've been looking for a pattern to use for teaching kids how to make stars so this is perfect! They learned three blocks and had to put them all together into a star that is a huge block
Adore it! Looks like a tutorial my granddaughter and I can do together - very easy and she could use the practice of making the 3 separate blocks (like her grandma) Thank you for another fantastic Friday tutorial 😊
I can't make triangles to save my life, even with your "crazy eights" method, but if I could, this would be the quilt for it. Great pattern! Thank you.
I wonder Kathleen, if it would be easier for you to make triangles if you drew the actual lines you need to sew (that is, draw the cutting line diagonally through the middle of the square, and also draw in the 1/4" lines away from the middle 'cutting' line)? Also, spray starch before cutting. The fabric stays stiffer. Might be worth a try. ~Diana from Hamilton (Canada)
@@HRHDMKYT Good ideas. I don't have any presser feet that are an accurate quarter inch to sew down the side of a drawn line. I've been looking at the kind of ruler that is a half inch wide and has a point at the end to put in the corner of the square, then you draw on either side for the sew lines. I might order that one Thanks,.
"I like big blocks, and I cannot lie !" Jenny , you're the best! Love you girl!
JWeibertKM 🤣
I think you're the only person that commented about this. I was cracking up! Jenny is great & funny too!
Hilarious!
Jenny throwing down a little Sir Mix-a-Lot during the quilting tutorial - LOL!
You are such a joy I love your tutorial
Another winner! One block of this one with a wider border would make a cute baby quilt❤️
I like this idea! Maybe put a few borders to make a throw size. Hmmmm. My next project! 😀
Actually, when using the sashing block you create a shoo fly block too.
I don't understand why in the world anyone would give Ginny a thumbs down. I love your tuits. I've been sewing since I was 5, not mentioning how old I am, and always learn something new in interesting.

Jen, OUTSTANDING! I love to hear about kids learning to quilt! You are passing on GREAT lessons to your grandson. Kudos to you! ❣

Plus you get an added different block as well...Very nice Jenny, as always..
We're so glad you liked it, Adela! :)
😻😻😻. I want to make this a little less scrappy, all 4 chevrons the same and all 4 broken dishes the same in each block. Controlled scrappy. Thanks, Jenny, love your tutorials!
My thoughts exactly Mary! ~Diana from Hamilton (Canada)
I would love to see a picture of this completed.

Yes, I MUST buy that perfect trimming tool (both sizes!).
Jenny you are the quilting queen!

This will make a wonderful lap quilt for our prayer Shawl ministry at church.
LOVE this quilt! I love big blocks too! A single block will make a great table topper!
Definitely! Have fun sewing!
I feel miserable today, but Jenny was so cute && funny in this vid! Totally lifted me up. Plus, you know, nice quilt design, too.
Hope you get feeling better, Rabbie!
I love the blocks that have different units in it to make a beauty!! Just like your Antique Lace quilt. I would love to occasionally see a quilt done on point. That would be awesome!! It can take something ordinary and make it extraordinary, as Jenny loves to say!!!
You are so sweet Angela! Thanks for your comment.
The fabrics are yummy, the perfect quilt to show them off. Me too, ‘I like Big blocks and I cannot lie’...lol. Thanks Jenny.

I love Fridays - I'm always in a hurry to see what new tutorial Jenny has to show us!

Janice, I have a fat quarter bundle that's just been waiting for the right pattern! Can't wait to get started!❣

I fell in love with this big block quilt! My BFF and I already have all layer cakes paired up and the first 1/4" sewed in the "x"! Very excited!
YAY!! We're so glad to hear that, Zoanne! :)

Jenny you are so fun I love watching you
I love that you coined the term "easy eight"!!!

That block would make an awesome pillow cover.
I used this pattern to make my bed quilt using Tula Pink fabrics and it turned out SO pretty!

My to make list is getting out of hand!! I just need to start quilting!! I really like this quilt, thanks Jenny.
Jenny you are on a roll today! Yes I had a calico dress back in the late 1960's that my mom made for me.
I love this quilt. I think it might be my favorite one yet! 😊💕
Me too! I can't wait to get started!! Once I finish the first one, I'll be making one in 2 colors ❣
Stunning!
Another great quilt! Thanks!
Wonderful quilt! I love that your left handed like me. This would make a great scrappy quilt. Thank you❤️
A niece has asked me to teach her to quilt. This is it! But I'm going to me me one right along side her's.
And that's EXACTLY why we do this... family togetherness! Thanks, Janice!
Great pattern and looks so easy!
This is amazing!!! I always love your work. Thanks for sharing and inspiring!!!

I love this, but the first pattern that I saw was the four broken dish blocks with the sashing square. That’s a cute block too.
