  • The Isle of Wight Steam Railway has more than just a ride on a train to enjoy, as I checked out again today. I have been visiting the railway since the late 1970s and each time I’m here I see more and more. Today there is a beer festival and of course that is one reason for picking today to visit.

A shed full of history and nostalgia is the museum. The costs to preserve and maintain such a large display must be horrendous let alone the man hours involved in preserving the individual pieces. Warren as always was able to find a beer ere a beer there oh my there's beer everywhere.. fascinating. Great vlog mate thanks. Bushyboy Oz.

That museum was very well presented. Not over-packed and it had lots of information too. Those carriages need a lot of love and care to get them back on the rails. And yep, I did manage to enjoy a beer or two - it was a Real Ale Beer Festival anyway! Cheers, Warren :)

It seems you enjoyed both the beer and the trains. 😊

I tried to avoid over-filming the beer aspect but the Real Ale event there was very well organised and the range of beers was impressive! Cheers, Warren :)

Hi Warren, looked like a superb day out. Reminds me of the museums/attractions I used to visit when growing up in North Devon. A beer festival as what... what can be better! Thanks for sharing. Cheers!

It was a fantastic day out actually. So much to see and enjoy. The lovely autumn weather helped too. Cheers, Warren :)

Enjoyed that. Last summer I walked some of the disused railway from the "End of the Line Cafe" in Easton.

I'm always interested in walking old railway line routes. In the 80's it was more possible as the old trackbeds were still mostly accessible but since then fields have taken the land back over. It's nice when old routes have been turned into trails, and even better when some of the old heritage artefacts have been left along the way :) Cheers, Warren
