  • The suburban line is now open, at least the northern section, from Linleys Main Suburban Up-line round to the down platform. This is good news. Basic track power supply is now added for three block sections and all the track is cleared and cleaned. This is another day with good progress made.

Fascinating, Warren! Can't wait to see the end result!

Hey well, the "end result" may just be a vague concept as there is always more to do, to add, change and develop :)
      Cheers, Warren :)

I am probably teaching my grandmother to suck eggs but a friend long since gone cleaned his tracks with an abrasive pad on the end of a broom handle to save his old knees. After a while he built an amazing clock work track cleaning loco. This superseded by a powerful battery loco that reversed at the end of a siding.Quite remarkable but he was an aviation electronics engineer so knew his stuff. Nice video as usual quite amusing thank you sir.

I use a pad on a stick during the main running weeks when the rails just need a light rub over but the proper track cleaning engine would be idea. Self powered would be the best as you suggest. Cheers, Warren :)

Great to see it coming together, and some good train running there!

it was a relief that the track joiners were good for electrical continuity as sometimes the joiners can be problematic. More trains to run next time. Cheers, Warren :)

It was funny filming behind the bush. Got it all cleaned up there from the winter leaf muck that had got left. Cheers. Warren. 😝🤠

It’s just bit by bit. I spent today tidying up some of the rubbish around my bbq as it looked a mess recently! Thank you for following along as well. Cheers. Warren. 🤠

Awesome progress Warren! Actually I don't use track power, I use battery RC power especially for out here in the Arizona heat in the States.

That makes sense. I know some railways here use RC controlled battery locos too. I might go that way for some of my trains for winter running when the track is not fully clean. And I want to invest in some live steam too - now that would be fun. Thanks for following along and your encouragement. Cheers, Warren :)

Great video! I have a 00 gauge garden railway, and I use a dremel to clean the sides of the rails for soldering power feed connections and jumper wires connecting the ends of the rails. Before that I used wet & dry sandpaper, I also tried a fibre glass pen to mixed results.

Thanks for your comments here about your way to clean. The dremel is quite harsh but gets the muck off. Cheers. Warren. 🤠

Have you tried a PCB cleaning /scrubbing block on the track?

I haven’t tried one of those blocks. Good idea. Cheers. Warren 👍
