Appreciate the kind words and thanks for your suggestion. A lot of people have asked for videos on the different variations of the Obey 40, (3,4,6,10,70, wireless, etc.) so I will definitely consider that. Good luck with your light shows!
Great tutorial, I found this easy to understand as took it slow, I understand bit about DMX but fully as usually do these on sound activation mode with remote controller, which I find easier mini moving heads are better as pair. Hi - Well thats a coincidence because I just got these moving head gobo's: bit.ly/3bUfEY5 I'll be demonstrating them in one of my next videos. Thanks for the suggestion and hope you stay tuned :)
Nice video. You could invert the pan and tilt on two of them to have a more interesting symmetrical look, without the need to program two separate fixtures.
Thanks for all your videos, they really helped me get started with lighting my duo. I wanted to mention that I bought 4 of those moving heads you recommended, and one of them is defective. If I try to blend red into white I only get white then all red, nothing in the middle. I've been going back and forth with Tomtop support, they are not willing to replace it so far. Frustrating! So, beware!
Appreciate the info and thanks for the heads up. Sorry you are having a problem with your mover. I assume that you have gone into the menu controls and tried doing a factory reset? (this fixed an issue on I was having with one of my spider beam fixtures) Good luck and I really hope you are able to get it all sorted out.
Hi I need to know if this light can stand still to one side with the light on, not moving when you clap your hands or hearing music. Basically I need this light to be fixed to one side so that I can just change the colours accordingly
The auto and sound active functions are hard programmed in, so I don't believe there is any way to separate the color functions from the movement (unless you use a seperate DMX controller with a sound active mode to trigger custom scenes)
Hi, can you connect 4 together with dmx leads and have them all run synchronised in sound mode without dmx controller, if so how, please. Also can the pan and tilt arcs be set .
Hi Steve- If you place the first fixture (master) in sound mode and the other 3 in slave mode they should all synchronize. (all 4 must be set to the same 9 or 14 channel mode) You can adjust the pan and tilt arcs in the menu settings: Pan Angle: PA54--PA36--PA18 Tilt Angle: Ti18--Ti09 Thanks for the great question.
As long as your lights can be controlled by DMX you can use any DMX controller. For the simplest solution, a hardware controller (like the Chauvet Obey 40) should meet your needs. Appreciate you watching!
Yes you can- just daisychain the dmx out from one of the lights to the dmx in of the other light and make sure they are set to their own unique dmx starting address.
This truss is actually quite sturdy. I’ve had up to 8 lights lights like these with no problems. Here’s a video on a few different ways to mount smaller lights: ruclips.net/video/CaeAaZdbpCU/видео.html
Hi- On these lights, you can go to the menu controls and press "menu" until you see "tiL". Press the "down" button and you will see "rliL" Press enter and this reverses the tilt. You can do the same with the pan by going to "PAn" Thanks for watching!
Nice tutorial man...i just bought 4 moving heads amd i want to use with dmx...will be able to program them?? Can a dmx include the standar feature of sound mode?
Hi- Almost all modern moving heads have DMX compatibility so you should definitely be able to program them to any look you want. Some lights let you access their sound active functions via DMX control and it makes a great way to turn that on via a DMX controller.
Hi- If you first press the Menu button then the Up and Down buttons will cycle through the menu items. When you get to the display that says 14CH-9CH, press the Enter button and then you can cycle between the 2 modes. Hope that helps and thanks for watching.
First of all TRULY thanks for the video but overall giving the time to respond every question! You defenitely love what you do. After reading all the questions I would like to ask you if there is any possibility to change the scenes in a very slower & smooth time in order to change from color to color very slow?
Thanks for the kind words! Yes, if you set up a chase with the Obey 40, you can set both the "Speed Time" (which determines how long each scene in the chase will last), and the "Fade Time" which will determine how long it takes to transition between scenes. So if you set set both of these to longer times, your scenes should change slowly and smoothly. Appreciate you watching!
Can you program the lights without the board? I don't have the board and I'm having a difficult time to get to use the lights on learning how to change colors have them on different positions. Is there any other way to program them?
With some lights you can make simple programming changes in the settings menu (like color) but with these lights you really need a DMX controller to do anything other than putting them in auto or sound active mode. You can get DMX controllers for very little money like this one: amzn.to/3r2Eu02 and its definitely worth it to get the most out of your lights. Good luck and thanks for watching!
Yes- you just need to go into the settings and configure the lights on one side to "Inverse Pan" and "Inverse Tilt" and it should work perfectly. Thanks for watching!
Hey Steve. I have 2 of the same lights and one of them is acting weird. Both assigned to DMX D001 but one operates on the first 7 sliders but the other starts pan and tilt on slider 1 and 3 (2 does nothing. Then the color sliders come in on sliders 5, 6 ,7, & 8. I'm using the Obey70. It doesn't matter if I set either one first in the chain no as master slave. I've tried resetting and loading factory defaults. and the prices have gone WAY up no2w. Wanted to get 4 more. Wondering if you have any ideas what might cause this.
Hey; no idea if you respond to comments still. Is there anyway to program these lights in the “fast auto mode” via DMX and choose the colour? I have a show I want to use these for but I need to turn the lights on only for certain moments so need DMX control, the fast auto mode is perfect, but I need it to only operate on one colour. Is this even possible?
My set of lights will not perform the tilt option and more than a quarter of an inch. This is the case with my obey 40 and 70 controller. It also is limited in this same way on the manual tilt mode. Any ideas on how I can correct these issues.
If you go into the menu controls on the 6th and 7th pages you will see an option to change the Pan angle and tilt angle range. Set them to highest number (54 for Pan and 27 for Tilt) Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
Yes- you can control pan & tilt speed by sending a value between 0-255 on Channel 5 (in 14 Channel mode) or Channel 8 (in 9 Channel mode) Appreciate you watching.
This helped a lot. But I have two questions. 1: how do I control the lights individually while in a daisy chain. 2: how do I change it from 9 channel range to 12 channel range.
It's easy to control different lights that are daisy chained together. You set each light to a different DMX starting address that matched the fixture # on your controller. For example on the Obey 40: Fixture 1 = DMX starting address 1 Fixture 2 = DMX starting address 17 (and so on) To change from 9 to 12 channel mode press the menu button repeatedly until you see "9CH" or "14CH" on the display. press the up and down buttons to change modes and then press "ENTER" Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
Hi, I’m new to dmx & I’ve got a coupe of pairs of moving heads like yours. I want mine to face the dance floor & not turn around blinding me. Is it a matter of simply having to program each scene & using the sliders to keep the pan & tilt facing forward?
Hi- You definitely could program each scene with the pan and tilt positioned how you want them. There is another parameter in the menu set up that lets you set maximum Pan angles (54, 36, 18) and Tilt angles (27, 18, 09) as well as well as a setting that lets you reverse the Pan and Tilt. Changing these could possibly keep them from pointing in your face without having to reprogram each scene. Hope that helps and thanks for watching.
I love the light but sensitivity is set too high you have to scream or literally touch the box so it could move I need to said it to be more sensitive and it looks like it doesn't have that option. Correct me if I'm wrong please help how to set sensitivity
I know- unfortunately on this fixture there is no way (that I know of) to adjust the sensitivity. I think they set it up to perform well in very loud venues.
Hi- You can buy this set of 2 PAR DMX lights for $28 with free delivery. Thats pretty cheap! www.tomtop.com/p-i4742-eu.html Thanks for watching - I hope you have a good career ahead as a lighting designer :)
Hey Steve, just checking into DMX, quick question, I am looking at an effect that looks like a prison search light pattern. Sort of an infinity sign pattern that I want to just loop constantly running 4 or hours hours. Is this doable?
You could do this by programming multiple "scenes" on your DMX controller with the light being in the different positions along the path of the infinity sign. Then you would program those scenes into a "chase" or sequence and you should get the results you are looking for.
There is a setting that inverts the menu display so it reads correctly when thy are right side up or upside down. Other than that they behave the same in either position. Appreciate you watching.
Hi Steve, I have 2 turning heads with a DMX console - I plug a DMX cable from the console to my light - setup my turning lights as per instructions - When I plug and power everything up - my console doesn't make my light move at all - why is this not working ?
First I would try to get just one light working. Make sure it is in dmx mode with a starting address of 1 and that it is connected with a good cable. Then make sure the controller is in "program mode" and you have "fixture 1" selected. Now you should see the light reacting when you move the faders. I hope that helps!
Thank you Steve for sharing and spreading the knowledge 🙏 2 questions FIRST- How many fixtures can be add to each chanel, is there any limitations? Second- How can mirror two fixtures. Means if the first one moving to center from left the 4 one moving to the center from the right.
Hi and thanks for the encouraging words! To the best of my knowledge the only limit to the number of fixtures you could place on the same channel would be how many DMX cables you have LOL! To "mirror" one of these mini moving heads you would go to the menu controls and then "PAn>rPAn" to reverse the Pan (on just one of the 2 lights) or "tiL>rtiL" to reverse the Tilt. (or you could reverse or invert both the Pan and Tilt together) Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
Can you help me.... Do you know why when i plug my moving head into controller all my menu settibgs on moving head are up side down? And how can i fix it?
You can buy them here: bit.ly/347bbiK Unfortunately they have gone up in price quite a bit since I made this video, but if you have them shipped from the China warehouse you can get them for $99 US (free shipping) Thanks for watching!
To get that kind of effect you need a moving head that produces a narrow beam (as well as some haze in the air to see it) You can see a light effect like that at the end of this video: ruclips.net/video/_q0ZyGS0VWQ/видео.html Thanks for watching!
Hi- First press the menu button repeatedly until you see "14CH>9CH". Then press the "Enter" button. Now you can use the "Up" and "Down" buttons to switch modes. Hit the "Enter" button one more time to save. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
With the Obey-40 and scenes and chases, can pairs of these movers be set to "mirror" pan and tilt? One tilted up when the other is down, one panned right when the other is panned left, etc.?
Yes you can do this, but you need to set up the lights rather than the controller. These lights (and most other I have seen) have both a pan and tilt reverse function in the settings. Once the lights are set that way they will "mirror" the ones that do not have that function enabled. Hope that makes sense and thanks for watching!
Is it possible to program separately in the same DMX Controller Beam light on channel address #1 , Wash light on address #17 and laser light on address #33 ?
You need to set each fixture to a different starting address. For example with the Obey 40 you would set the first to starting address 1, the second to a starting address of 17, the 3rd to a starting address of 33, etc. Then select each fixture on the controller (remember to turn off the other ones) and you will have individual control. Hope that helps!
When you put the controller in music mode, will all the lights move and react the same because they are connected? Would this work with wireless dmx signal as well (donor dmx)?
Yep- as long as all the lights are set to the same DMX starting address and daisy chained together, they will move in unison to whatever command is sent to them. (doesn't matter what kind of controller you are using - hard wired, wireless, etc.)
Can the lights be to run opposite of each of each other without programming each light or set of lights individually? Is that how master/slave works? I have an Obey 40 that I am just starting to learn. Thinking of one (or two) light (s) on each side of the drummer and at the end of a song having each side point in towards the drummer and flash, then I could manually slow down the flash and go to black, during the song I would like each side to move in opposite directions.
Yes- you can do that. In the menu there are options for both Tilt and Pan Reverse. When they are put in that mode, they will respond in the opposite direction to the lights that are set as normal. Sounds like your band will have a cool light show!
I know absolutely nothing about dmx so this was quite helpful, once you've programmed your scenes and activated a chase can you have that move in time with the music? I'm wanting to get some lights like this for a mobile dj setup. Thankyou
Yes- On the Obey 40 there is a function called "Music Chase Playback" First you press the "Music/Bank Copy" button. Then select the Chase you want to trigger with the music. You can use the Fade Time slider to adjust the time between scenes in the Chase. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
Every time my lights start up they do the same thing- my assumption is that the stepper motors are going through a calibration routine before being ready for use. If this lasts for more than about 10 or 15 seconds there may be something wrong. I would carefully check to make sure there is free movement on the pan and tilt axis (nothing stuck or binding) and then do a factory reset. Hopefully that will get everything up and running.
Love your videos. Quick question: I am running two LEDs and one Flood all going to a chavet board. AFter every 20 minutes, my lights keep turning off. I have to hit my slider to turn it back on. I put a terminator at the end of my chain, but again-- like clockwork, every 20 minutes or so the lights keep cutting off. What would cause this? DO I need a DMX amplifier?
Hmm- I'm not sure whats going on. It doesn't sound like a termination issue to me. Do you get the same result using just one light? Have you tried doing a reset command on the controller? My guess is that there is something strange programmed in the controller, (or possibly a fuse is tripping) I hope you get it figured out!
Yes- If you set the first one to "master" and the others to "slave" mode, and then daisy chain them together they will run in unison. Thanks for watching!
Good evening from here sir, please sir I'm in Nigeria, how can I by DMX cable on your side because the ones I have been buying here are not working on my light's, please help me out sir
I have a few questions if you could help me out: 1. Do you have to plug the light into an outlet or can you just used the DMX cable that's linked to the control board? 2. If you do need to plug it in to an outlet, do you have to plug multiple lights into an outlet if they're connected by DMX daisy chains or just the 1st one and the power will carry through?
Would you recommend the Cauvet Obey 40 over the Rockville ROCKFORCE 384 Channel Light/Fog DMX Lighting Controller + MIDI Control? The Rockville is about 50% more money.
Chauvet makes quality products and my Obey 40 has worked well for me for many many years. That said, the Rockforce 384 looks really cool and appears to have a few more functions that might make it easier to program- tough call :)
Hi, I was wondering if there is an option to active the soundactive-mode on the dmx controller so that you can easily switch between the manual and the soundmode, thanks a lot!
Yes- When you set them to 14 Channel mode, on Channel 13, if you send a value between 128-191, you can access Sound Active Mode 1 and 192-255 accesses Sound Active Mode 2. Hope that helps!
Thanks for explaining it so clearly! I've got a bit of an odd question though. I'm thinking of designing a sunreflector, also called a heliostat, and though of a moving head as a base / motor for the mirror. Would it be possible to program a moving head in a way so that it makes only one half rotation in a full day?
Hi- that’s definitely an odd one. 😊 Although it’s probably possible to program some kind of simple Chase with 2 scenes and an extremely long transition time, I’m not sure if the mechanics of the fixture would be suited for that use. The motors and gearing are designed for quick movements. If you are able to create something that works I’d love to hear about it- good luck!
I just purchased an Obey40. I reprogrammed the faders to have control each individual light so I can have a fader per master channel (DMX Channel 1 on each device). I noticed that if I do that, scenes no longer work :( I reset the board back to default and scenes work again. I feel like scenes are "hardcoded" to the default channel/fader assignments. I don't see anything in the users manual talking about this. Any tips/ideas?
Hmm- that's an interesting question. The Obey 40 is set up with each "fixture" controlling 16 fixed channels. So if you made the 1st fader control Channel 1 on the first device, and the 2nd fader control Channel 1 on the second device, the 2nd fader would also be controlling Channel 2 on the first device (even though you didn’t want that) So if you are programming scenes with multiple fixtures on overlapping DMX channels, you will often get unexpected results. That might be whats happening in your case.
@@LearnLizard Thanks for the response. I reprogrammed the channels for each device that wasn't the master to another fader on the other page so I would avoid those behaviors and that worked without fail. So, in my case, provided you're in page A, you get one fader to fixture operation. You can dig into the other functions of you want to assuming you know what you're doing and enjoy all of the fixtures' features via page B. I did get a hold of an engineer over at Chauvet and he confirmed my suspicion that the scenes only work with the default mappings on the board. At least I'm not crazy to what I'm seeing. It's just now I might have to rethink what I'm doing with the controller and consider more computer-based alternatives.
Thank you so much for this tutorial, the best tutorial so far from hundreds here on RUclips, well detailed!!! I purchased the Chauvet dmx 70 last night so l will follow your steps to programing it... Are you a dj?
LearnLizard I had the led lighting but not the moving head kind just a regular spot led light but maybe also this or next year Christmas I might get another gobo color moving head that's the same like in the other video.
That's very strange. Seems really unlikely that the blue is a hardware malfunction on all 4 lights. Are they set up in a master/slave configuration? Have you removed the DMX cables and tried them individually in auto mode? This particular model has a Factory reset function in the menu settings called "LoAd" I would try that if the other steps don't help. Good luck and I hope you get them working properly...
If I have 2 Venue rotating head lights and want them to move and change to the beats of a song, what is the easiest set up? Buy a router and wireless DMX interface and use the iPad?
If you want to keep it simple and all you need for your setup is to have the lights in sound active mode, you can set that up on the light itself (I believe it has 9 different show modes) That way you can save the effort involved to go wireless.
I am Japanese but your English is so easy to listen. Thank you !

You can adjust the pan and tilt arcs in the menu settings:
Pan Angle: PA54--PA36--PA18
Tilt Angle: Ti18--Ti09

i have 4 halo - which DMX controller should i get/for my fun church activity. thank you
As long as your lights can be controlled by DMX you can use any DMX controller. For the simplest solution, a hardware controller (like the Chauvet Obey 40) should meet your needs. Appreciate you watching!
MAN THIS IS GOOD!
Thanks so much!
Love these videos
Appreciate the kind words :)
THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE LECTURE, PLS CAN I USE D DMX FOR BOTH BEAM LIGHT AND PAR LIGHT AT THE SAME TIME CONNECTED TOGETHER
Yes you can- just daisychain the dmx out from one of the lights to the dmx in of the other light and make sure they are set to their own unique dmx starting address.
How well does a light duty dress like you’re using handle moving headlights like this? Would you trust it to use slightly larger or more?
This truss is actually quite sturdy. I’ve had up to 8 lights lights like these with no problems. Here’s a video on a few different ways to mount smaller lights: ruclips.net/video/CaeAaZdbpCU/видео.html
@@LearnLizard thank you for the information, love your videos!
I have six of the DMX LED par lights and four of the moving heads. Can they all be controlled by the same controller?
Yes- The Obey 40 can control up to 12 fixtures (each with up to 16 channels) so you should be good. Appreciate you watching!
Loved it, Very helpful. Thanks
Glad it was helpful and thanks for watching!
Thank you Sir ! Nicely taught !!!
Appreciate the kind words and thanks for watching!
Hey, Thank you! If i dont want synchronic, but mutual inverse, how can i do it? because its seems better
Hi- On these lights, you can go to the menu controls and press "menu" until you see "tiL". Press the "down" button and you will see "rliL" Press enter and this reverses the tilt. You can do the same with the pan by going to "PAn" Thanks for watching!
@@LearnLizard thx
Excellent channel! Please keep this going!
Thanks for the kind words!
@@LearnLizard thanks man..can u recomend a cheap and easy to use dmx? I just want to make some standard programs for wedding and gigs
Excellent video and easy to follow bro..
I appreciate the kind words. Thanks for watching!
I bought 2 of them but I dont know how to put it in 9 Chanels mode or 12 chanels mode. Can you explained me?
9 or 14 sorry
Hi- If you first press the Menu button then the Up and Down buttons will cycle through the menu items. When you get to the display that says 14CH-9CH, press the Enter button and then you can cycle between the 2 modes. Hope that helps and thanks for watching.
@@LearnLizard yes! I finally found it! You are the best! Thanks!!
Steve what did you use to hook these up to the tbar? my lights did not come with any kind of attachement
Hi- Here's a video that shows exactly how I hang my lights. Hope it helps!
ruclips.net/video/CaeAaZdbpCU/видео.html
Very helpful, Steve. I appreciate the straightforward instructions. Keep them coming.
Thanks, will do!
Is it possible to have the 2 lights on the right side, mirror the 2 on the left side, while on the same channel ?
Yes- you just need to go into the settings and configure the lights on one side to "Inverse Pan" and "Inverse Tilt" and it should work perfectly. Thanks for watching!
Fantastic channel
Thanks very much for watching!!
Never mind and thanks for the advice I know you'd have given. I have one fixture on 9 ch and the other on 14. Gott'em running like a swiss watch now.
Awesome! (glad you figured it out)
Hey; no idea if you respond to comments still. Is there anyway to program these lights in the “fast auto mode” via DMX and choose the colour? I have a show I want to use these for but I need to turn the lights on only for certain moments so need DMX control, the fast auto mode is perfect, but I need it to only operate on one colour. Is this even possible?
Can you make half of them do the same thing but opposite from the other two
Yes - you can invert both the pan and the tilt in the menu settings on the half that you want to be opposite as ESC SLOVENIA mentioned. Thanks
Quick question, is there a way to make the moving heads move slower or faster changing between scenes?
Yes- you can control pan & tilt speed by sending a value between 0-255 on Channel 5 (in 14 Channel mode) or Channel 8 (in 9 Channel mode) Appreciate you watching.
@@LearnLizard thank you so much
This helped a lot. But I have two questions. 1: how do I control the lights individually while in a daisy chain. 2: how do I change it from 9 channel range to 12 channel range.
It's easy to control different lights that are daisy chained together. You set each light to a different DMX starting address that matched the fixture # on your controller.
For example on the Obey 40:
Fixture 1 = DMX starting address 1
Fixture 2 = DMX starting address 17 (and so on)
To change from 9 to 12 channel mode press the menu button repeatedly until you see "9CH" or "14CH" on the display. press the up and down buttons to change modes and then press "ENTER"
Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
Hey Lizard,
What are the cheapest lights I could get because I’m a little kid that wants to do lighting when I’m older I wanna get practising now
Hi- You can buy this set of 2 PAR DMX lights for $28 with free delivery. Thats pretty cheap!

Thanks for watching - I hope you have a good career ahead as a lighting designer :)
Where did you get the music from at the end at the smoke part?
I wrote that music (and all the music in my videos) I hope you like it!
Thanks for the Video... Is there a setting that changes it if the lights are on the floor instead of being hanging upside down??
There is a setting that inverts the menu display so it reads correctly when thy are right side up or upside down. Other than that they behave the same in either position. Appreciate you watching.
hi can u tell me how to setup with dmx laser and moving head lights together tnx
Hi Steve, I have 2 turning heads with a DMX console - I plug a DMX cable from the console to my light -
setup my turning lights as per instructions - When I plug and power everything up -
my console doesn't make my light move at all - why is this not working ?
First I would try to get just one light working. Make sure it is in dmx mode with a starting address of 1 and that it is connected with a good cable. Then make sure the controller is in "program mode" and you have "fixture 1" selected. Now you should see the light reacting when you move the faders. I hope that helps!
Thank you Steve for sharing and spreading the knowledge 🙏 2 questions
FIRST- How many fixtures can be add to each chanel, is there any limitations?
Many lights (including these) have an "invert display" or similar setting in their menu functions. Look for that.
Where is the link for these lights? Great video.
You can buy them here:
bit.ly/347bbiK
Unfortunately they have gone up in price quite a bit since I made this video, but if you have them shipped from the China warehouse you can get them for $99 US (free shipping)

Hi sir how to set a v shape light just like in miss universe when they announce the final two ?
To get that kind of effect you need a moving head that produces a narrow beam (as well as some haze in the air to see it) You can see a light effect like that at the end of this video: ruclips.net/video/_q0ZyGS0VWQ/видео.html
Thanks for watching!
he's suuuuch a good helper thankyou sooooooo much you sooooo helpfull!!!
Thanks very much for those kind words!!!
Sir, how do you set the moving head as either 9-channel or 14-channel mode?
Hi- First press the menu button repeatedly until you see "14CH>9CH". Then press the "Enter" button. Now you can use the "Up" and "Down" buttons to switch modes. Hit the "Enter" button one more time to save. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
@@LearnLizard Thank you!!!
@@LearnLizard Got it. Thanks for the info.
Is it possible to program separately in the same DMX Controller Beam light on channel address #1 , Wash light on address #17 and laser light on address #33 ?
Yes- as long as each fixture has 16 channels or less it doesn't matter what kind of light is being used.
How do you control moving lights individually? I’ve been struggling with that
You need to set each fixture to a different starting address. For example with the Obey 40 you would set the first to starting address 1, the second to a starting address of 17, the 3rd to a starting address of 33, etc.
Then select each fixture on the controller (remember to turn off the other ones) and you will have individual control. Hope that helps!
@@LearnLizard Thank you! I am gonna try that. This works if the lights are identical right?
Thats right, they can be the same or different lights. All that matters is what each one's starting address is set to.
Can you set the color without the DMX?
Nice Tutorial! Thank you. -From Hungary:D
Thank you very much for watching! (from California)
Great video Thank you! Do you know if thats the only speed the lights move at? They seem a really slow. thanks.
Thanks for the kind words- You can completely control the Pan/Tilt Speed on Channel 5 (values 0-255) Appreciate you watching!
@@LearnLizard thank you!
great vid mate! there is a problem tho, as soon as i connect the dmx in it starts shaking and making weird noises, is it broken?
Hey i have a question is the lumeri moving head the same as this
Actually it's very similar to the mini gobo in this video:
ruclips.net/video/IklDtZLkAOc/видео.html

Hello, can I slave them together without the controller and the #1 light will act as the master? All will follow? Thank you.
Yes- If you set the first one to "master" and the others to "slave" mode, and then daisy chain them together they will run in unison. Thanks for watching!
Mr. Steve Thank you so much

Good evening from here sir, please sir I'm in Nigeria, how can I by DMX cable on your side because the ones I have been buying here are not working on my light's, please help me out sir
Hi- I got mine on Amazon here: amzn.to/3iOd2ii
Does Amazon deliver to your country?
I have a few questions if you could help me out: 1. Do you have to plug the light into an outlet or can you just used the DMX cable that's linked to the control board? 2. If you do need to plug it in to an outlet, do you have to plug multiple lights into an outlet if they're connected by DMX daisy chains or just the 1st one and the power will carry through?
Good question- unfortunately you have to plug every light into an outlet. The DMX cable transmits data but not power. Appreciate you watching...
Does the DMX moving heads like the bigger ones come with mounting brackets / pieces like the one from the box in the video
Yes- every larger DMX fixture that I have seen has included some kind of mounting bracket that you can use to attach to your truss or lighting stand.
LearnLizard Okay. Thank you for the info. Now I know
Would you recommend the Cauvet Obey 40 over the Rockville ROCKFORCE 384 Channel Light/Fog DMX Lighting Controller + MIDI Control?
What will happen if we connect this control panel into ETC DMX?
What is open 240-255?
@@NelsonVelazquez Thats really interesting- thanks for the detailed explanation. Now I know a little bit more about how that controller works!
Thank you so much for this tutorial, the best tutorial so far from hundreds here on RUclips, well detailed!!! I purchased the Chauvet dmx 70 last night so l will follow your steps to programing it... Are you a dj?
Thanks so much for your kind words! I'm not a DJ (I'm a musician) but I've helped a few DJ's with their lights through the years.
did you get all four in one package?
Actually no- these particular ones were shipped separately. Thanks for watching.
Hi I'm getting DMX for Christmas hopefully because I'm had a gobo moving head so I'm control it what ever I want.

LearnLizard I had the led lighting but not the moving head kind just a regular spot led light but maybe also this or next year Christmas I might get another gobo color moving head that's the same like in the other video.
LearnLizard have you ever heard of realizzer?
Hello sir I have the same lights you have there. Can you also run the par lights as well together
Yes you can- here's a video where I show them running with my PAR 64's:
ruclips.net/video/6TU_2ViTXCQ/видео.html
Thanks for watching!
Hey, I have 4 of these, suddenly none of then gives the blue led, neither on dmx channel nor auto mode, you know how can I fix it??
LearnLizard thank you
