It’s funny how far away the 90s are today. Todd McFarland, Jim Lee and Rob Liefeld were these hip, young artists in the 90s and now they’re old dudes. The 90s will always feel like it was just ten years ago to me.
I love how natural he draws and how he just has fun and makes silly sound effects while he does it. You can tell that 'fun' gets infused into his drawings. He doesn't think too hard about if it's perfect, he just wants it to be fun and look interesting at the end :)
The reason why Todd is one of the all time greats is not just the quality of his work but the rate of speed at which he achieves it. Not many come close in this department. Jim Lee another iconic artist is also amazing but the time he takes to lay down something this solid is much much longer. Another of my favorites is Dale Keown and once again his attention to detail is what sets him apart from many others but he is a serious perfectionist and takes painstaking time in making sure everything is just right. @Mcfarlane Toys (Todd McFarlane) you are in a league of your own. Hats off to you.
Todd, you really are amazing dude. Love you passion and style! I have gotten back into drawing since watching your videos. While at work, I drew a Hulk and Spidey and someone took them lol
Nah he's actually left handed, his cameraman is using the rear camera and he's on Todd's right shoulder so we're seeing at as first person view(can't explain further but I hope you get the point). That's how left handed artists film their stuff. And I'm also left handed to soo...
These guys are so freakin awesome with their skill. Love Todd’s style. Does anybody know what the kind of drawing tool he’s using? And the name of the software?
That’s one sick looking Batman but then again that’s what Todd is known for - making things look sick. The guy probably revolutionized the comic industry and not a lot of people know it.
Yeah, that makes me realize that we've come really far when it comes to drawing tablet/pen response time. Nowadays with the new ones there no noticeable delay at all, I'm a beginner and I think that this delay would massively discourage me from studying digital art, I'm wayy to sensitive to it.
Todd McFarlane was one of my *BIGGEST* inspirations to start doing art, but at the same time he makes me want to give up.... it's like a guitar player watching SRV.. you just think "why bother, he's so much better than me without even really trying".... regardless Todd is the MAN
I sent you something and here are the people that watch I'm not good but I'm getting better here they are its like a bug for me I started when I was 13 I think and it keeps coming back but they are Brad's art school Liron yanconsky And schaeferart and watch Todd he/I look at his stuff at how to warm up like Todd's spaghetti webbing that he came up with I do it to warm up before/as I start drawing so keep at it don't look as you are going to be justice todd the next morning/month I don't know how old you are but I'm 47 just keep at it if you are a kid or still in school Tell your teacher that you want to Take Art class and bug them him her the principle that you would love to take art 🎨 I wish I new that you could say that when I was in school and watch Bob Ross. So I will let you go and watch Todd I was the same he had alot of No's before working for Marvel watch the Brad's one he breaks it down for you /us in the first one and with the slide and the one dude has a thing on how too draw stuff at a angle the water color guy that I how I found him and I restarted with the last guy drawing tree's 🌳 just look at it for reference and keep at it don't be Oooh man that is what keeps you where you are now if you play red dead take a picture on your Xbox and start to draw that tree's are easy and look at the one brand dose at drawing a head /face I had never thought of it that way make a circle one up and down and the other middle our down or up and there you go Brad's art school.
...jesus christ that never gets old and it always blows my mind every time I watch it... I still agenize over every line because I'm just shitty, so watching you drop all of that detail willy nilly is fucking awesome and frustrating. LOL
It is clearly Photoshop. It's hard to tell the size of his cintiq but I would like to believe it is not the size of the cintiq that matters, it's how you use it.
The fact that Todd makes noises while drawing is so awesome 😂
Can see the child at heart in him
It's my favorite thing about him ACTUALLY doing the work. I love it! It's awesome.
Lmaoo I swear..”super sexy now” 😂😂😂
Even when Todd isn't taking his time, his artwork turns out amazing!
Amazing. I love Todd's commentary. You can tell he's having so much fun. Love this guy!
I was saying the same thing.
Gosh he is one of the few good 90's artists him and Jim Lee
"Get some feathering in here shik shik shik shik" 😂😅

I forgot we left the 90s when I watch the good stuff on vhs.
I’m born in 04, but my dad educated me on 90s trivia and in many so the 90s cultus has a special place in my heart
"Won't be my best...."
Looks perfect by the end. Master at work.
Masterpiece in 2 and a half minutes! If I ever drew something that good, people would hear about it forever lol
"Not bad for a herpe giver " LMAOOOOO
never heard that before thats some bio science humor ???
I don't get it either.
I think bats gives deceases-
He draws so much comic stuff he even uses sound bubble phrases in every day life.
KABLAMO
I get it cause bats give diseases
I love the sound effects of Todd's art 🤣🤣
I love how natural he draws and how he just has fun and makes silly sound effects while he does it.

@Mcfarlane Toys (Todd McFarlane) you are in a league of your own.
Hats off to you.
Now, that's what I call drawing.
check mine!😊
@@ishandraws8884 Ok, don't think that you are as good as McFarlane. Nobody is, don't be so cocky.
@@shrelpshrelp except Jim lee.
@@ishandraws8884 Well, 6yrs later. I indeed checked out your drawings. And they are beautiful my friend. Keep it up!!
Never heard you talking about the drawing before but I loved it! Your enthusiasm is totally infectious 😀 subbed!!
The noises are what make Todd the goat.
Todd McFarlane, Jim Lee, Rob Liefield, Dale Keown, Mark Sylvestri, Erik Larson and Whilce Portacio the best in my opinion.
Jim Lee is just on a whole nother different Level idk how that man does it lol😂
Alex ross aswell. Not a panellist really though
I would definitely add Neal Adams and Bruce Timm in there.
Gil Kane and Jack Kirby too
Wasn't it spelled Erik Larsen?
I like how he's talking while he livestream his character sketches and this truly means that he's an absolute legend in that.
Greatest commentary ever. Loved all the “up in here” and ka-blamo
I wish Todd would do these videos again.
Imagine quickly sketching one of the best renders of Batman.
Wow! No dislikes!!!! This guy is soo cool!!! I would love to watch him getting in more details in a longer time period!
Back when youtube was cool enough to show thumbs down so people actually knew if something was worth watching.
Todd, you really are amazing dude. Love you passion and style! I have gotten back into drawing since watching your videos. While at work, I drew a Hulk and Spidey and someone took them lol
Amazing. He makes it look like child's play. I also get the feeling that he is totally enjoying the benefits of technology.
That Batman is siiiiick, Scary !
Todd is such an awesome guy!! Loves his Spidey eyes
I was mind blown when I saw him drawing LEFT HANDED.
He's not actually drawing left handed that's just an illusion called mirror image whare your left side is his right side
Nah he's actually left handed, his cameraman is using the rear camera and he's on Todd's right shoulder so we're seeing at as first person view(can't explain further but I hope you get the point). That's how left handed artists film their stuff. And I'm also left handed to soo...
An absolute legend being drawn by another legend!
Todd is truly a living legend
These guys are so freakin awesome with their skill. Love Todd’s style. Does anybody know what the kind of drawing tool he’s using? And the name of the software?
It's Adobe Photoshop.
That’s one sick looking Batman but then again that’s what Todd is known for - making things look sick. The guy probably revolutionized the comic industry and not a lot of people know it.
Really helpful to see his process.
He draws batman so well
Love the sound effects he makes while drawing.
love the way he effortlessly started with an egg shape
By the time he was finished, I would have found paper and a pencil.
Amazing to watch!
I luv da sound effects he duz while he's drawing ✍️
Todd is such a talented man!
Todd you are AWESOME!!
I've always wanted to see what Todd MacFarlanes art of Batman would look like
I see even professional artists can't draw with control w/o turning the page! I feel a lot better now!
what I like about Todd after all these years he likes to have fun
Nice love your art work
Todd, you're a genius !
Did he say "not bad for a herpe giver"? Timestamp @ 7:46
That's what I heard
So simple and it looks so sick
Makes it look so easy that I feel like I can do it… I can’t.
The tablet lag is so shocking you realize only someone like Todd could draw as he draws in his mind and the hands just follow
Yeah, that makes me realize that we've come really far when it comes to drawing tablet/pen response time. Nowadays with the new ones there no noticeable delay at all, I'm a beginner and I think that this delay would massively discourage me from studying digital art, I'm wayy to sensitive to it.
@@Doodsinho yep, first tried like 10 years ago and it was so slow I didn’t bother.
Dude is such a pure soul
great to see these videos from someone who inspired me when I was a runt.
Even with 60 minutes in my hands I was unable to recreate it. He is just so amazing 😮👌
Absolute legend. Would kill to have his talent
His talent = thousands of hours practicing.
You are still one of my favourite artists
This is so cool. I could never draw like this
I would really enjoy a brief video about your transition from pen and ink to digital.
This is actually a cool looking Batman. For a quick sketch this is on par with Jim Lee doing a quick sketch of Batman. 👏
The that I think amazing is that Todd Mcfarlane criated a Hero, the famous Spawn!
Todd McFarlane was one of my *BIGGEST* inspirations to start doing art, but at the same time he makes me want to give up.... it's like a guitar player watching SRV.. you just think "why bother, he's so much better than me without even really trying".... regardless Todd is the MAN
I will look up some one for you I forget his name it is cool and helps
I sent you something and here are the people that watch I'm not good but I'm getting better here they are its like a bug for me I started when I was 13 I think and it keeps coming back but they are Brad's art school
Liron yanconsky
And schaeferart and watch Todd he/I look at his stuff at how to warm up like Todd's spaghetti webbing that he came up with I do it to warm up before/as I start drawing so keep at it don't look as you are going to be justice todd the next morning/month I don't know how old you are but I'm 47 just keep at it if you are a kid or still in school Tell your teacher that you want to Take Art class and bug them him her the principle that you would love to take art 🎨 I wish I new that you could say that when I was in school and watch Bob Ross. Ah shit. He did this on my birthday, and Batman happens to be my favorite DC character. Todd is Godd.
Love this Batman style besides the cape shoulders
That is so freaken cool. What is he using to draw? I would like something similar. Trying to get back into drawing
Todd Mcfarlane is my hero.
I love Todd so much
All in one layer with no erasing
...jesus christ that never gets old and it always blows my mind every time I watch it...
I still agenize over every line because I'm just shitty, so watching you drop all of that detail willy nilly is fucking awesome and frustrating. LOL
Amazing.. wish I had half that talent..
A living legend.
I always learn something new when I watch and listen to T.F.
Thank you, that was so cool
I need a figure of this Batman Todd! Cmon bro make it happen!
Awesome. I love it !
so stunning sir amazing
Ya gotta love Todd, he's a mix of Stan Lee, and Tony Clifton ! BlamO I gotta be mmmeeee!
I practiced drawing Batman from this video.
Love it.Tom one of the best 😊
This guy is So Amazing!!
Hey Todd! What actor would you pick for the next Batman? Who's your favorite so far?
Can anybody tell the name of the brush/tool he used to color the bits? Awesome work!
He drawing on a device called Wacom Cintiq... the "pen" is the sylus which comes with the Cintiq.
0:07 He just put sunglasses on before just so he could say that. Todd is hilarious! 😂
“Ms. Camera Lady, get in there”
Miss the good ol' days when they drew on paper
Perfect drawing!
The cowl and colour reminded me of The Batman 2004
Damn I love this guy
The Master 🙏
I wish I could get one of those things to do comic art but that's pretty much a pipe dream
TheShadowfire204 I have one get yourself the new iPad and IPad pencil same results cheaper price
Not with a screen, Mr Necro @Egnirc SLP
Dude is literally the Bob Ross of comics! 😅 gotta love him!
His Batman just looks so bad ass.
Todd, can you do a drawing of the Punisher cause i have never seen you draw him????
U got amazing talent
im surprised that the extreme delay between when he draws and when it shows up on screen doesnt mess things up for artists.
That Batman art is good 👍
My goal right now is to be able to shade like this. I want to know what the basic rules he follows are besides just where the light is coming from
What does he press to autofill the shadows in?
That drawing went from awesome to beautiful when you dropped in the color at the end. Ka-Blammo! Lol
Beautiful bro!
Dude, that was wicked!!!
"Hi! I'm going to draw something in two minutes that you couldn't draw if you practiced for the rest of your LIFE!"
Anybody know the hardware and software Todd uses/prefers?
It looks like he is using Photoshop on a Windows computer and drawing on a Wacom Cintiqu 22HD.
not photoshopi think and its a wacom cintiq 27QHD
It is clearly Photoshop. It's hard to tell the size of his cintiq but I would like to believe it is not the size of the cintiq that matters, it's how you use it.
isn't this clip studio or something?
ans it's def a wacom 27qhd because that is the stand you have to but for it, the 22hd has another stand
I need one of these a day. :)
great pencil and tablet...
Bam bam bam bam.....K-blemo :D :D Todd, you´r the best :D :D
just awesome.
