  • Battery drain current measured on two units. This was was 0.18 milliamps; another generator yesterday measured 0.22 milliamps. This current drains the battery at a very very slow rate:
    ie Average 0.20 mA on two units; ie 1/5000 an Amp on a 5 Amp Hour battery
    So in 1000 hours is 0.2 Amp Hour;
    So in 10,000 hours is 2 Amp Hours ( 40 percent battery drained = 2/5 )
    So in 1 year 365.25 days X 24 hours/day X 1/2000 Amp = 1.75 Amp hours
    The battery itself drops in charge with time too.
    The unit has a plug in wall wart charger that should be used a few times a year to keep the battery charged.
    For Propane usage with a weak battery you might want to pull start it. There has to be enough battery energy to pull in the 12 volt solenoid in the Propane adapter. This is 7.2 watts at 12 volts; ie 6/10 amp. Once started the generator charges the battery.
