  • This video provides a walk through on how to properly wire lead acid batteries in series and parallel connection to meet the load requirements for your electrical devices. It also highlights some key battery features and demonstrates the main differences between the two configurations, whereas a series connection will increase the voltage level, a parallel connection will increase the amperage of the battery pack.

    Hello, thank you for your informative videos. I just watched your Costco jump starter & power bank review which I also just bought one. I have a scooter that uses 4 SLA batteries like what you're showing which are connected in series? (not sure), and I haven't used the scooter for quite a while, so the batteries are dead and I can't charge it with the original scooter charger. Can I use the Costco jump starter to recharge or jump start these SLA batteries? Do I have to remove the batteries completely out of the scooter, and one by one to charge them or can I just leave them in the scooter and connect the Costco jump starter to them? If so, can you show me how to connect the Costco jump starter to the batteries? Thank you.

How many 12v car battery do I need to power it for 7hrs and what solar panels wattage do I need to recharged it? Thank you so much for your video best explanation I’ve found so far here!! Oh by the way I’m a subscriber!!🎉

    • @diypotentials
      @diypotentials  9 месяцев назад +1

      It depends on the capacity of your battery. If you have a 12V 30AH battery, you will need 7 of those for a 7 hrs runtime. If you are planning on charging the 12v 30AH battery with solar panels , a 60 watts solar panel at 12v will offer 6 amps of current. Be careful to read the charging rate of the battery. Too much charging current can ruin the battery. Good luck!

    • @diypotentials
      @diypotentials  Год назад +1

      The color doesn't matter for the flow of electricity, but the having different color wires helps to identify the positive and negative flow of electricity from the battery. The red wire is normally used for the positive terminal and the black is often used for the negative terminal. You can get these wires from you local Home Depot or Lowes or local auto shops. To get the same length, you simple cut them. For the connectors, you can get them at Lowes, Home Depot as well and local auto shops as well. To connect them, watch my the video at time stamp, 11:28 to 12:00. Good luck on your project. Thanks!

  • @toddmueller4799
    @toddmueller4799 Год назад

    I know this is sort of off of the beaten path but just generally.
    We have a scooter that has four batteries wired in series 4. 12 volt batteries wired to 48 volt.
    We use the scooter just for going back and forth to craft fairs that we go to to carry supplies from time to time to our RV.
    I can't find a reason why I wouldn't be able to just add one battery parallel temporarily At the end of the series chain for a little more capacity once in a while because there are times when we use it so much that there isn't time to really charge it
    I would just put dongles off of the end of one of the batteries in the series to be able to connect parallel to the end battery and attach an extra battery for the rare times that we need Just a little more power before we could actually charge. It would only be used sparingly and unattached when not needed and also unattached when charging the scooter normally. I would charge the additional spare battery separately.
    I do understand it is probably not an ideal situation that the battery should technically match the same amp hour rating and voltage of course but again, this is just for temporary use here and there.
    Does it seem feasible? This could work in a pinch?
