exactly. there's too many people like that out there. they read between non-existing lines, make up their own meaning of something you've actually never said and present that as facts. you then don't want to leave those lies out there so you defend yourself but it never gets resolved, just continues. in the end you get riled up and mad and the other person gets the satisfaction from it. Bob is the perfect voice in these situation. They know when to challenge the system, but they also seem to know when it's being taken too far. I don't think Vixen is a villain. I think they have an important point of view that deserves to be heard, but Bob is a great counter to that voice. Vixen just needs to learn that this type of counterpoint is good for her and the communities they represent.

The Vixen reminds me of people in activism spaces who are so deeply traumatized they can’t tell the difference between when they are being targeted and when they aren’t, so she thinks everything is about her and assumes the intention is bad - it’s clear that Bob hosted the townhall to support a community that needed a lot of support at that time and it had nothing to do with the Vixen’s event. There’s space for both of them to do so and it’s weird she viewed it as a competition or a slight at her. People with activated trauma responses have a hard time seeing the difference though. In my opinion, she’s not delusional, but to change the world she thinks she needs to fight every drag race queen and hold them accountable for upholding *her* specific world view instead of actually activating people toward change.

It just confirms how I felt when I met The V*xen during the S10 Werk the Word tour. For background: I’m autistic and chronically ill. One of the ways it manifests is poor fine motor skills, chronic pain, and my joints dislocating when doing minor tasks ESPECIALLY in my wrists. At the time I couldn’t put on false lashes without struggling, and it took me well over five years to put on anytime of eyeliner or mascara. So when I was able to wear falsies at the show I was SUPER excited. I wanted to the queens about my win and was going to ask for advice. I figured if anyone knew the ins and outs of putting on lashes it would be a drag Queen. Everyone was super supportive and hyped me up…except for The V*xen. She was very cold and when I told her and Miz Cracker (they were seated together) that this was my first drag show and my win with the lashes, explaining why with the disability and all, she said I was “sooo quirky” and wondered “why a girl can’t put on lashes” like it was a piece of cake. Just super condescending. Like Ma’am I JUST said I was disabled. I had a wrist brace on and everything! I felt so defeated and went on to the next group of girls (Vangie and Eureka) and almost cried in front of them. They could tell I was feeling off and helped cheer me up. During their sets Vangie accidentally knocked my drink over and give me one of her tips so I could get a new one and Eureka gave me one of her Swarovski-covered nails at the end of the show and then everyone else.
As someone who’s also chronically ill, I could NEVER imagine someone like Bob saying something like that to anyone 🥺 she’d be so supportive of you & this shit just shows

The Gish gallop is a term for an arguing technique where the person debating attempts to overwhelm their opponent by throwing out a whole bunch of different arguments, without regard for the accuracy or strength of any of them, to overwhelm the person so they can't possibly respond to them all and thus the first person feels they've scored points with the unanswered arguments while also completely controlling the conversation. I think it's kinda funny because The Vixen had the fandom on her side when it came to her beef with Eureka, but she put her foot in her mouth by lashing out at other queens and never holding herself accountable for her actions. That, to me, has always been one of the things that kept me from filling standing the Vixen. Her intent is absolutely wonderful, but she fails to execute her cause in the way she believe she does.
I don’t agree the way Vixen is going about this, but the whole Vixen and Tamisha’s situation does make it clear that shows like pit stop and sibling watchery can arm some of the drag race audience to harass certain queens- and if we go by history, it’s predominantly the black queens that get the short end of this stick. I don’t think the solution is not doing the shows, but it’s drag queens at the end of the day- you can’t expect them to be nice , cordial and just report on the episode either.

It may be the chemo. As someone who has seen a family member I live with go through chemo one of the side effects of it (that are often not spoken about) is a full swing of personality change. It becomes hard to regulate emotions. And this is something that often getd told to THE FAMILY not even to the patient themselves. You are kinda just told to roll with the punches. Tamisha has had a very long career in drag, and its a bit hard to believe that someone that has done this for so long can have such an "immature" reaction. If the math doesnt fail me she would be joining her season basically right off chemo. Considering she still might be dealing with corporal anxiety because of the colostomy bag, on top of a possible personality and mood regulation issues due to the chemo it all makes more sense. Listen, cancer is a bitch. And its an extremely traumatizing illness. My mother still cant even say the WORD. She spent four months in a catatoic state cause she thought she legitimately was going to die. The woman didnt even know the name of the medications she was taking. She just shut everything off. Did Tamisha choose to join the show? Yeah. I think, Tamisha seems to feel attacked because other people speak to her in a "trivial" tone, and not respectful, as she seems to have gotten used to, due to her age, background and experience in drag. The Vixen reminds me of people in activism spaces who are so deeply traumatized they can’t tell the difference between when they are being targeted and when they aren’t, so she thinks everything is about her and assumes the intention is bad - it’s clear that Bob hosted the townhall to support a community that needed a lot of support at that time and it had nothing to do with the Vixen’s event. There’s space for both of them to do so and it’s weird she viewed it as a competition or a slight at her. People with activated trauma responses have a hard time seeing the difference though. In my opinion, she’s not delusional, but to change the world she thinks she needs to fight every drag race queen and hold them accountable for upholding *her* specific world view instead of actually activating people toward change.

It just confirms how I felt when I met The V*xen during the S10 Werk the Word tour. For background: I’m autistic and chronically ill. One of the ways it manifests is poor fine motor skills, chronic pain, and my joints dislocating when doing minor tasks ESPECIALLY in my wrists. At the time I couldn’t put on false lashes without struggling, and it took me well over five years to put on anytime of eyeliner or mascara. So when I was able to wear falsies at the show I was SUPER excited. I wanted to the queens about my win and was going to ask for advice. I figured if anyone knew the ins and outs of putting on lashes it would be a drag Queen. Everyone was super supportive and hyped me up…except for The V*xen.
She was very cold and when I told her and Miz Cracker (they were seated together) that this was my first drag show and my win with the lashes, explaining why with the disability and all, she said I was “sooo quirky” and wondered “why a girl can’t put on lashes” like it was a piece of cake. Just super condescending. Like Ma’am I JUST said I was disabled. I had a wrist brace on and everything! I felt so defeated and went on to the next group of girls (Vangie and Eureka) and almost cried in front of them. They could tell I was feeling off and helped cheer me up. During their sets Vangie accidentally knocked my drink over and give me one of her tips so I could get a new one and Eureka gave me one of her Swarovski-covered nails at the end of the show and then everyone else.

She's angry and very hateful, both towards white people and towards other black queens she perceives as "white sympathizers" - which I find sad, as I've struggled as a mixed person with not being white enough for white people, and not brown enough for brown people. That's not conducive to a constructive dialogue in any way. I hope she gets the help she needs.
I've felt that same kind of fierce hatred and anger and willing-to-fight-ness that she shows and it is SO destructive, and it's not okay to treat people poorly because of it.

Very few comments actually discussing the full context of the situation. Very few in the fandom actually recognizing the toxic way we contribute to those conversations. That, to me, has always been one of the things that kept me from filling standing the Vixen. Her intent is absolutely wonderful, but she fails to execute her cause in the way she believe she does.

I don’t agree the way Vixen is going about this, but the whole Vixen and Tamisha’s situation does make it clear that shows like pit stop and sibling watchery can arm some of the drag race audience to harass certain queens- and if we go by history, it’s predominantly the black queens that get the short end of this stick. I don’t think the solution is not doing the shows, but it’s drag queens at the end of the day- you can’t expect them to be nice , cordial and just report on the episode either.

I’m sorry but Tamisha Iman has the most fragile ego I’ve ever seen
It may be the chemo. As someone who has seen a family member I live with go through chemo one of the side effects of it (that are often not spoken about) is a full swing of personality change. It becomes hard to regulate emotions. And this is something that often getd told to THE FAMILY not even to the patient themselves. You are kinda just told to roll with the punches. Tamisha has had a very long career in drag, and its a bit hard to believe that someone that has done this for so long can have such an "immature" reaction. If the math doesnt fail me she would be joining her season basically right off chemo. Considering she still might be dealing with corporal anxiety because of the colostomy bag, on top of a possible personality and mood regulation issues due to the chemo it all makes more sense. Listen, cancer is a bitch. And its an extremely traumatizing illness. My mother still cant even say the WORD. She spent four months in a catatoic state cause she thought she legitimately was going to die. The woman didnt even know the name of the medications she was taking. She just shut everything off. Did Tamisha choose to join the show? Yeah. The timing of deciding to join a reality television series that is known for drama, unstable environment, and pushing people to their limit to insitgate fights and get ratings right after chemo may not have been the best. Maybe Im just reaching cause my own experiences and its a bit hard to detach my emotions from her story. But I do think its a possibility that the issue its more nuanced than just an "ego" thing.

I think, Tamisha seems to feel attacked because other people speak to her in a "trivial" tone, and not respectful, as she seems to have gotten used to, due to her age, background and experience in drag. She has a "high" position, therefore it should be treated as such, and being criticized as "any drag" and comparing her with other drags that don't have as much experience as her, damages all that ego that was built due to her position and image demonstrated in her daily life
