It's not even a debate. City are a miles better team, United are a miles bigger club. Simple.

It’s actually a great analogy. Ferrari with the history and pageantry but little recent success vs red bull with the recent domination but significantly less history. Even got the colours right.

i'm a 35 year old man from London and i still don't know a City fan personally. I have no doubt that will change in the future but that will take a while to filter down to the next generations. That's basically what Simon Jordan is trying to say

The point Simon's making is look at what United can do without winning anything Pretty much 90 odd% of what City bring in when they win pretty much everything and at a time when the prize pool wasn't as big either..That's the point of the revenue talk.

If you think Simon's wrong on this, that's a shame, because he's not.

Us City fans, we don't care about being the BIGGEST club. We used to be the biggest laughing stock...the worst run club in football playing in the third tier as our neighbours won the treble. I was there in Dec '98 when we lost to Stockport. We didn't even own our club shop! Now we have owners who have invested in the club (another 300 million quid on the way for an stadium expansion with hotel and museum) and the surrounding area (houses, a college and a 25000 seater concert venue) and they have turned us into top dogs. The club studied the best practices around the world (Nike campus, Dallas Cowboys etc) and emulated them with distinction.

United got global fans by winning and dominating. Facts: International fans follow star players and winning team at that time. Ronaldo and ManU was that combo but City and Halaand/KDB are now. United got fans born in 90’s and City is getting current generation 🤷🏻‍♂️ Simple. In a decade they will be comparable in every sense. Domestic and Internationally. Pretty simple

Man United & Liverpool will always be the BIGGER CLUBS than Man City no matter what or even wealth they have

There are only 3 big clubs in England. Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal. Thats just the truth of it. Just like in Italy it is Juventus, Internazionale and AC Milan. It takes decades and decades to change that.

The whole "big club" argument is complete garbage to be fair, as there is no official rules or set of requirements to be a "big club", it's just a catchphrase that's subjective to opinion.

I'm a City fan and I'm happy that we're still viewed by many as "little Citeh." Like some of the greats that came before us, we will need to have a sustained period of time where we dominate like LFC in the 1970s & 80s and like United in the 1990s, 2000s and early 2010s to be lauded as a "big club." The fact is, we are creating our own unique history and with every game we win, and every competition we conquer, we grow in size a little more. Will we get to that level iconography that Barca, Bayern, RM, MU and LFC occupy? Possible. But I don't really care if we ever do as I am just so pleased to be the thorn in all the big clubs' sides. May it long continue!

Ask a thousand genuinely honest and unbiased football fans who their Top 5 biggest clubs are and there will be your answer. In no order, I would vote Real Madrid, Man Utd, Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Barcelona. But that really goes on history, fanbase, trophy wins and global recognition.

Simon is wrong. City’s revenue is forecast to reach £700m this season. That will be significantly above all other clubs including man united. Can’t get his facts straight unfortunately.
