    I think MU are bigger in a marketing sense - more marketing & advertising dollars in the English speaking world, but in the Spanish/Portuguese speaking world, I would think RM have the edge. As for fanbase and given MU floundering the past decade+, RM def have them beat. Someone might pushback and say, well what about the 900m deal Adidas just struck with MU? Great point, but I would say given the audience, who has the more overall affluent audience? Probably MU and so if I am Adidas, I want to pen a deal with the club who has the biggest reach AND the club who I can sell my 100pound+ jerseys to the most.
    RM has a bigger fanbase, but I'd say MU is slightly more affluent and therefore more likely to sell more jerseys (from the perspective of Adidas).

    That's the issue regarding Man United especially by the Glazers & the board is that we are run as a marketing brand NOT a football club. If u look at various other clubs they are run as a football club with the right people running it hence why they are performing. United have got the same issues we've had for numerous years now & that is why no manager how good that manager may be will barely succeed. Unless things dramatically improve at board level where we have actual footballing people that know how to recruit, scout, sell etc we will continue to struggle. SAF had David Gill above him that knew what he was doing & imo his loss was far bigger then SAF retiring

    • @aztecs8879
      @aztecs8879 11 месяцев назад

      Madrid is so well run compared to Man Utd they always get the best players when they are young and keep them for a decade, when they are reaching the end of the careers they sell them for good money and re-invest in the best youngsters. A perfect example is casmeiro who is now starting to look his age after one season, Madrid are so good at this, they always get the right players like Modric and now Bellingham. Man Utd seem to do the opposite buying older players for big money and selling young players cheaply, although this may be changing.

For the past decade United have signed the wrong profile of players like Ronaldo, Pogba, Sanchez, Cavani, Di Maria, Schweinsteiger, Falcao, Ibrahimovic etc all cos they're big names to make money off. That's why United are in the mess we're in. We've wasted so much money on these kinda players vastly overspent whilst giving these players among others ridiculous wages to the point we either can't sell them or let them leave for peanuts.
