    Thanks so much for posting this. I bought the same mold months ago. It came with no directions and I could not get it to work. Just put it back up for another time. You did an awesome job and very down to earth video! Loved it!

    Nice to see a professional miss a couple steps :) This tutorial/review is great! Love watching you try a product for the first time; a LOT less intimidating. To actually hear you read through the instructions and verbally guess what something might mean is FABULOUS teaching; it's like we're figuring it out together :)

    Thank you so much Liz! I have their Princess crown, so I had an idea of how to use their product, but was hesitant to invest in the onlays without a review from a neutral party. You are the bomb!!!! I have learned so much from you....and I tried your LMF fondant for the first time last week and now I'm hooked, it worked well even in humid Florida....gonna save a ton of money....enough to buy a few Marvelous Molds (wink wink)!

    Aren't the Marveloue Molds so easy to work with? I loved watching you do this for the first time! One thing I found that made it super easy to get off without the fondant design pulling off is to keep one hand on the back of the mold as you pull the mold off with the other hand! I used one for the first time the other day also and mine didn't line up perfectly either. I think that they are supposed to line up perfectly with even diameter cakes. But with the addition of buttercream and fondant it extends the circumference. Mine was off by exactly one space so I did what you did and cut out a narrow strip but was lucky that it fit in the space perfectly.

    Your videos are great. If you could mention at the end of each one how to store the unused gum paste or fondant, how to store the flower if your not putting it on the cake right away and how long it can be stored, how to store the cake with the flower on top like in the fridge freezer or out that would be so helpful for people new to baking.

    Turned out really nice. You can also watch an instructional video on their website about the molds. Just as a suggestion, you could have made your last piece a little wider and then trimmed through both layers to get a perfect fit and not have to stretch you last one. Thanks so much for the video.

    Hi, I have just did 4 cakes with a 3D silicon mold. May I suggest you do what I did? I first got parchment and measured the diameter of each cake, then the height. Then I cut the parchment to fit all. I then placed it on the mold and marked the beginning and end of each fondant piece, when I came to the end where I would fill in the last piece I cut the molded fondant to size, I put each cakes molded fondant in plastic wrap to keep them "fresh" till I had all the pieces, laying them was a snap and you can't even see the seam....their is no back to my cakes. Their is a video on the mold you got, mine didn't have the cutting edges so I had to roll the fondant into the shape by hand....Anyway, these molds are AWSOME!! and my 6 tear wedding cake looks so regal with two layers full of gum past roses and carnations and the other layers in the 3D flower over lay. :) here's a link to the owner/designer of the mold you have incase you or anyone would like to see his methods. ruclips.net/video/-NC62iMgclc/видео.html

    Oops, thank you sooo much coz I've just ordered a few of those and I'm from south africa. I should rather watch first time tutorials like yours - much more anticipation as to what can go wrong. I only use cornflour - so I guess in that respect I'll make them happy (the molds that is ;)) YOU did a sterling job. Got really scared when you started using that scalpel - those molds are expensive! ps your work station remains so clean! I have to wipe down a LOT with EVERYTHING!

    Never used the glue they ask you to use - However I tried it and it is VERY tacky. Now I use it to add tiny detail as it sticks really well. I have NEVER got my mould to join!!!! You can cut the first and last mould into a V so it does not have to join!(Or a \ cut then a / cut to give you a V?????)

    • @Artisancakecompany
      @Artisancakecompany  9 лет назад

      Sounds like your rollers might be dirty or you're rolling too thick before passing the gumpaste or fondant through the rollers. Make sure you roll thinner and clean your rollers by holding a damp balled up paper towel on the under side and turn it on. dont pass it through, just hold it against the rollers as it turns to clean them. Hope that helps.

I checked online sites and almost ordered one for about $23 - $31 but decided it was too much. Then later I went to Ross and forgot all about the pasta machine, came out with a toy scooter (Monster High) for 11.99.
