The only problem I have with these are that they are so expensive! Do you know if they ever have sales or markdown stuff?
Leslie Lazarus They are a little pricey, but I use mine over and over again, with the time saved it's definitely worth it. I also think they need to massively expand their range, and have new lines that reflect trends. The product seems really great but it's too ubiquitous. The more people that buy it, the less impressive it becomes when you see the same pattern on numerous blogs etc.

Hmmm... I've never tried these on buttercream. I assume, if you use an all-butter buttercream that hardens in the fridge I think it would probably work. If you give it a shot, let me know how it works out!
what ive done is layered my thin coat of buttercream then only let it set in the frig for 10 minutes and apply the thick coat and repeat the process but ive already made my fondant designs to get it ready for the cake. i then wait 2 minute for the buttercream to reach room temp and place the design on the cake. it works well.

Tasha Walker I imagine you could as long as it was a buttercream that you could get a hard surface from- ie. cold SMBC. You need to be able to press firmly to stick the fondant to the surface so it will release from the mold.

I love the stencils but if an expert can't line them up what chance do I have
The new version are a translucent material making it much easier to see where to place the Onlay!

THESE MOLDS ARE BEAUTIFUL, BUT COST TOO MUCH.
IF THEY CAN BUY ONLY ONE AT A TIME, SIN, TOO EXPENSIVE.
natalina tagliaferri I suppose it depends on your perspective... as far as molds in general go- these are very reasonably priced. At about $30 each, I think they are a great & reasonable investment. As a business, you earn your money back in labor hours the first cake you make with them. They are priced right in line with most of the designer cake stencils.
