I basically have temporary PSTD over that line in Divinity's Reach after hearing it hundreds of times lol! XD There's one more line from there that has this effect: "PRAISE THE SIX!!!!" And this one weird lady npc laughs loudly from time to time.
I always imagined Padmé Amidala whenever this song came on, and I really wasn't sure why... but now I know it's because it sounds reminiscent of Across the Stars.
***** I hear most of the music in this game and think of Stargate SG1. And then I see the Asura gates and feel it too. I'm pretty sure someone on the Anet development team is a fan of both Star Wars and Stargate.
+Jack Lively Jeremy Soule, who composed this, also composed the music for Knights of the Old Republic, so he's one of the creative people involved in the Star Wars Expanded Universe. It should be no surprise that this sounds like it's for Star Wars.
I always thought this piece, even the name, shows the pride of humans, even in the face of extinction they call their cities 'great' and they most certainly are. It's kind of comforting and surreal to think about how, even in the face of great adversity, mankind still manages to continue holding their heads up high and just keep moving forward.
Yes! Found it! :D Edit: This song is usually the first thing I hear when I log in, and it's always feelings inspiring and recognizable. In my mind, this song is what makes Guild Wars 2 for me. :)
I don't know why this is one of my favorite ost from the game, I really love it, it makes me think in the kingdom, the love for the city and in some way it makes me imagine a story of love
I installed the game and started a new character after an 8 year break. When I entered divinity's reach this song played and it brought back so many memories. I love this game so much
It's called "The Last Great City of Men". And which one is the last great city of men? Rin? Nope, ruins. Lion's Arch? Nope, multicultural. Ebonhawke? Nope, fortress. Divinity's Reach? Bingo! There you have it ^^
"I saw this hunter who had a doggie. It was bigger than me, and it said, "Woof!"
*LOL*

Beutiful - reminds me a bit of John Williams' Across the Stars from Star Wars OST. Like it very much.

It's very Star Wars. I keep expecting to hear a whoosh or hum of civilian ships going overhead when I listen to this.

he said he never heard across the stars before he composed this so... what you said is nonsense.
its not nonsense, it does sounds reminiscent of across the stars even if it's not intentional xD

maybe it reminds of love because it is kind of inspired of "Star Wars - Across the Stars: Love Theme".
Naboo...? Padme...? :D So good, so beautiful!
Favourite Town song. One of the best I ever heard. So Nice.
What a game, what a song...
