Still remember hearing this for the first time when I was 8 years old back in 2005, watching my brother play Prophecies when it released. When I first had an MP3 player this was one of the first things I downloaded so I could listen to it as I walked through the Autumn forests where I grew up. 16 years later and I still frequently come back to listen to this song.
The nostalgia, playing this game with my father early in the cold winter morning while my mom was cooking breakfast for us. Questing in Ascalon together, alone.
I vividly recall my friend buying the game for me on my birthday, spending all night downloading it so we could play the next morning. It ended up finishing around midnight that night, so we started playing then. Fast forward to seven AM, foggy morning in the countryside, and my Krytan armor was almost complete. Just a few more gargoyles to kill.. Then I'd finally go to bed around eight AM, only to dream of Ascalon and what awaited me north of the wall; thus began my everlasting love for Guild Wars.
+EdouardPicard0224 That's the kind of stuff this series is made of my friends. It's unexplainable.. it can't be experienced by anyone ever again. Only we few will ever know what it was like while it lasted. And that is an incredibly beautiful thing.
This song has been stuck in my head for over a decade after playing GW, and I've finally found it again. It was so surreal to return to the franchise and hear it again in GW2.
+Bartosz Radecki Tbh, I think gw2 has better gameplay. it's really a matter of opinion. You can hardly compare GW2 to GW1, they're so different. I would say I thought GW1 had the better story, thought Heart of Thorns really rivals it. I just hope they can continue w/ the HoT quality. Guild Wars has some amazing lore, I'd hate for it to go to waste.
+Bartosz Radecki Why doesn't it appeal to you? I am asking, because depending on your answer HoT might either be the best or worst thing that has happened to the game from your PoV.
This song in particular takes me back to my early days of broadband. Guys at work msging each other about this game. We all bought it that weekend and hooked up. Just amazing, I even had dreams about it. Truly magical game. I still revisit that pre sear paradise from time to time (normally when drunk).

This piece plays in GW2 too but it suits GW1 much more. GW1 had a much better atmosphere full stop.
+jpvdog and better gameplay imo ;d

+Rayalot72 GW2 doestn appeal to me as much as GW1 unfortunately. Maybe it is so, because i haven't played HoT yet

+Led Zep I do not like the skills and fighting overally, I loved the way of builds etc in gw1 and really miss it ;(
I was humming this earlier. Spent 2 minutes searching the GW1 OST. Am now happy.
omg I just did the same thing. took me forever to find the song. I had to go to the wiki and search the pre searing areas cuz I knew it was from there
This is my favorite theme of anything, ever.
trop de bons souvenirs passés sur ce jeu... 2 minutes 31 de nostalgie à chaque fois que j'écoute cette musique
Im not crying...

This song is the song I think of when anyone mentions Jeremy Soule. Regardless of how good a composer he is, the musicians are just as talented
Good Memories!
I miss being 16 :(
Erik Orcutt I miss being 13. Barely understanding english. Guild members improved my english😁

There’s no way this song didn’t inspire the Elder Scrolls Oblivion soundtrack
It's the same composer
