    I noticed a difference about week 2. It's a beautiful thing. My anxiety is non existent. My kids are happier because they notice I'm happier. Little things that used to be big things got me in a idgaf mood.
    Had severe head aches, no appetite and sleep way better, and I have the shakes BAD!

      @@vanessavillanueva0162 100% I'm sorry for responding so late, but the Zoloft has helped me so much I can even explain. All of my symptoms went away around d the 3 month mark, and another change which was subtle was the marked difference in my mood changes, like from irritable to happy. One mistake I've made was stopping this medication cold Turkey. It was not an immediate reaction but when it hit about a week off the meds it was horrible! Debilitating headaches, emotional rollercoaster rides all day long. Not good at all, so dont try it PLEASEPLEASE!!

    I'm on day 5 of Sertraline and it has made a massive improvement for me. Used to have hundreds of thoughts a day coupled with constant mental interruptions about what I should be doing. I had repeating mania highs and depressive lows. My last 4 days have been, as you say, neutral. It's so nice to have quiet in my head and the ability to look at my list of tasks without getting worked up over them. Infact, some tasks are going to be dropped which is unheard of for me.

    • @Gabilai92
      @Gabilai92 5 лет назад

      Bob Beattie can you describe your mania high?

    • @BobBeatski71
      @BobBeatski71 5 лет назад +3

      @@Gabilai92 Sure. My symptoms were: having a tremendous amount of energy focused into a subject. It would either be a design problem that needed fixing or the opportunity to enhance some process or even simply an idea "that I should research to my fullest abilities". I didn't consider any of those things as irrational even if other people didn't want to know, were'nt interested and the outcome did not benefit me personally or wasn't related directly to my professional work at the time. (I used to work at Nokia R&D. Lots of problems to fix, lots of clever people, so I was happy as a bug in a rug.) My doctor told me, my excited state of mind was a counter effect to my depression (frustration) caused by working with people in a high tech environment who, themselves, were not tech minded. Sertraline has helped me keep a neutral state of mind which has its pros/cons: I don't get upset now nor do I get excited. eg I'm back in work part time. A friend asked if I was excited to get back into new tech projects. No, because I don't feel that emotion anymore, but at the same time I'm no longer suffering from the anxiety caused by my burning irrational need to learn everything in the universe. (I still have my to-do list, but nothing has been added to it for over 3 months now and I'm not concerned I'm not progressing through it quickly or at all.) I will share one more observation: when I do sense the onset of a "super idea"/"mania moment", my brain stalls. Much like a car engine. It is a very strange feeling indeed. I should point out I still read and study and learn, I just don't get carried away with things now. It's all thumbs up. :)

    • @BobBeatski71
      @BobBeatski71 5 лет назад

I cant stop urinating. I must urinate every 30 minutes. Even during the night i wake up about 3-4 times a night to go to the toilet. I take my sertraline at 8am & i am wide awake all day. I also take quetiapine at night which helps me sleep very well, otherwise i dont think i could sleep. Taking the sertraline is like being on amphetamines. I noticed at about the 8 minute mark you seemed very high & rambling. It has been doing that to me aswell. I feel ok. Hi Bec, I've been on it nearly a month and to be honest I feel no effects yet. I'm aware it takes 6-8 to get into your system and become effective. I feel my doctor will prescribe a higher dose.
      The only side effects I have had so far is slight nausea. Nothing unbearable and it's seem to be passing now.
      I'm still optimistic and despite my initial fears everything is going okay so far.

    Depression is something that is possible to overcome. I suffered from extreme depression from the age of 7 to 27. This might sound crazy, but one way to help beat depression is to constantly think about what you can be thankful for in life. It could be the smallest of things like being thankful for having fingers, having 2 legs, being able to see and hear, having clothes, shelter, etc. The process takes time but it changes your way of thinking. It creates a mental habit of optimism.

    • @Mikey196601
      @Mikey196601 5 лет назад +2

      Jordan Jay , I tried that and I have tons of things to be thankful for yet none of that helps because Im always dwelling on the negative and some are just insignificant BS and then the anxiety kicks in , sometimes I go to bed in a high anxiety mood and it takes some time to fall asleep and once asleep I wake up Ann then I wake up and almost immediately I think of something that gets my anxiety going. That’s not every evening or morning though, I couldn’t imagine having the feeling more often.

    Ssri's like zoloft will not do anything within days. It slowly increases the amount of serotonin in the synapse available for your neurons to utilise when it needs to send a signal. Dose with clinical depression show evidence for a lack of serotonin or a lack of sensitivity for serotonin. If the drug worked within days it would increase the amount of serotonin too fast and you'll suffer serotonin syndrome. Mental illness is greatly subject to plasibo... After all it's a mental illness. Don't allow yourself to perceive changes and just let them happen because if it's a placebo for you than you'll loose trust in the medications once that placebo is no longer In place and all it takes is someone telling it doesn't work. If you read this and your symptoms return... See your doctor and try an snri as that increases dopamine levels which is more link to depression.
