    You are not alone! I've been on an antidepressants since february, it's very hard at first bcuz your body is adjusting on the medication but eventually you feel better, just take it the same time in the morning, never give up! I have been there just keep yourself busy, active or go for a walk when you feel anxious and agitated.

    This is my first full week on Lexapro and I indeed feel human again. I'm a single mom to toddlers. I felt like I was drowning. Me going on meds was not technically self imposed (grippy sock vacay) but I decided to stay the course after I got out. I highly recommend talking to a professional if you feel like you're on the edge. You matter and your existence is important.

    damn this generation is full of pansies. if you are feeling depressed just tell yourself that its first world problems and move on. just do it. drugs will not end well, i've known some people who had side effects and suicided. keep things natural, work out, meditate instead. be constructive not destructive. Drugs mask the problem, you need to find the root cause.

    • @emclouds
      @emclouds 10 месяцев назад

      labeling it as first world problems… if it was as simple as that, we wouldn’t feel the need to reach out to intimidating people now would we. anyone who has a clue about how the human psyche works would know it doesn't work like that. i cannot empathize with the sheer ignorance it takes for some people to not be at least a little empathetic over a situation they’ve never personally dealt with. idk. maybe that’s just me as i’m an empath, feel things deeply, am sensitive, whatever.. now i’m not a fan of prescription drugs myself in fact, i stopped taking my antidepressants suddenly on my own accord out of subconscious rebellion plus i forgot cuz of another root problem, adhd. luckily i did not experience noticeable side effects. if they work for some, that’s great! no need to judge. meds are meant to aid, not to be depended on of course. we’re all just trying to figure out how we function really. next time, try to feel others pain while they’re on their journey even if you don’t understand and not be so damn contrarian so it could at least help lessen the burden. this is real stuff as you know with the real people that you mentioned. maybe this is your way of grieving and if so, keep it to yourself will ya? or write it down! journal! that’s a much better option than making this type of comment public. at least in the other forms you can gain something from it, like personal insight and reflection. Just some food for thought.

    • @johannadam8134
      @johannadam8134 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@emclouds My friend committed suicide because of meds. Ive dabbled in drugs. I tell you from experience it feels crap to not be in control and there are about 10 side effects for that one cure. You don't know me, Ive been very depressed and i'm a very empathetic person. I'm a bit of a detective and know why shes feeling like crap. I can put myself in her shoes. My comments may be harsh but its the truth. Started homeschooling in HS in a rush to go nowhere. I commented on how she will miss high school and stop rushing to grow up. Guess what, she went back to hs because she got bored at home. She thought she could make it as a youtube content creator but her views keep dwindling. Her subs are now in college with no time to watch, content is just depressing or not interesting. Viewers watch to be uplifted not to be dragged down with depressing videos. Now shes depressed because she is behind in school while her friends are a year or two ahead. Sounds about right? Best path forward is to quit youtube, go back to school, and stop the meds. Or option 2, find a way to revive her channel also stop the meds. Judging by the way Vanessa is it best to go with option 1. She doesn't have what it takes. Also " labeling it as first world problems… if it was as simple as that". It is as simple as that, just trick your mind. And yes this is a first world problem, other countries people are fighting to survive war or starvation. "reach out to intimidating people now would we".. Intimidate? It is based advice! You cant function without narcotics and your giving advice? Its like the blind leading the blind. What exactly do antidepressants do?
      It's thought that antidepressants work by increasing neurotransmitters. These are chemicals in the brain like serotonin and noradrenaline. They can improve mood and emotion, although this process isn't fully understood. Increasing levels of neurotransmitters can also disrupt pain signals sent by nerves. Drugs used for mental health problems sometimes cause irreversible brain alterations, such as tardive dyskinesia caused by antipsychotics. The brain is a delicate organ; it may not take much to permanently re-set its structure or function.Your essentially walking through life doped up , causing irreparable damage and never addressing the root cause. One day you might just blow up and lose it.
