  • THE TEACHING IS FINALLY HERE!
Some weeks ago I did a text about the baptism in fire, which has created a lot of reactions in many, many people around the world. We got over a thousand comments in a very short time. I got many private messages from people who agree, but also from people who disagree. All of this has led me to do a bigger teaching on the baptism in fire.
What does the Bible really say? I encourage everyone out there, whether you agree or disagree with my article, please see this teaching. By doing this teaching, there are things which have really opened my eyes when it comes to the baptism in fire!
So I encourage you out there - see it! Share it! And let's come back to the Word!
As I said in the beginning of this teaching, there are three groups of people. There are those who agree with me and my teaching, those who disagree but still respect the Word of God, and then the last group who just don't respect the Word of God - for them, it's all about feeling and emotions instead. This is a dangerous place to be!
This teaching is for all three groups, so no matter where you are, give it a chance! Listen to this teaching, and let the Holy Spirit speak to you!
God bless you all out there!
Here, you can read the teaching I shared on Facebook a short time ago: thelastreforma...

Thank you so much for bringing clarity by the word. My husband told me a few years ago that the baptism of fire was not good, it was judgement, but I didn't believe him. I just want to know the truth and walk in it. When you brought attention through the word that no one else who received the Holy Spirit had a 2nd baptism. I few years ago I believed and even was asking for the fire baptism. I never received it. Thank goodness. A couple of years ago I was coming to the understanding that this baptism is suffering. Just like He told James and John," That they would drink of His cup." So there was still a little confusion on the term. So I am making a decision in my heart to reject all teachings on this fire and will no longer allow their voices to be heard in my home! I love the word and that's the bottom line.!

This also reminds me of how the Spirit of the Lord came upon Elijah and he burnt up the 2 sets of Captains and their 50. This represents a fiery judgment, but the 3rd set of 50 men and their captain humbled himself before Elijah and repented. Therefore, the angel of the LORD told Elijah to withold back fire judgement. Trust the Word of Yah, we don't want this baptism of fire!
Then the king sent to him a captain of fifty with his fifty men. So he went up to him; and there he was, sitting on the top of a hill. And he spoke to him: “Man of God, the king has said, ‘Come down!’ ” So Elijah answered and said to the captain of fifty, “If I am a man of God, then let fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty men.” And fire came down from heaven and consumed him and his fifty. Then he sent to him another captain of fifty with his fifty men. And he answered and said to him: “Man of God, thus has the king said, ‘Come down quickly!’ ” So Elijah answered and said to them, “If I am a man of God, let fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty men.” And the fire of God came down from heaven and consumed him and his fifty. Again, he sent a third captain of fifty with his fifty men. And the third captain of fifty went up, and came and fell on his knees before Elijah, and pleaded with him, and said to him: “Man of God, please let my life and the life of these fifty servants of yours be precious in your sight. Look, fire has come down from heaven and burned up the first two captains of fifties with their fifties. But let my life now be precious in your sight.” And the angel of the Lord said to Elijah, “Go down with him; do not be afraid of him.” So he arose and went down with him to the king.

Amen, I also saw christians saying they were baptized with fire, and I was curious why they would say that, so I looked up the verse, and I saw John mentioned the baptism of the Holy Ghost, and of Fire, now if its the verse alone, we could think Jesus will give Christians the baptism of the Holy Ghost, and the baptism of fire, but the comparison John gives with the wheat and the chaff, and that the chaff will be thrown into the fire, I came to realization that the baptism of fire is not something a Christian wants, and I am happy im not alone on this, many christians do rely on their feelings and their emotions rather than the word of God, a fool trusts his own heart, we cannot rely on feeling, we rely on what God has said, the grace and spirit of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you Torben, you do so much for the kingdom, you are loved. I think context is important, Chaff is not something separate from the wheat.
The Chaff is an outer husk or the external attachment to the wheat. To winnow and burn off the chaff is to remove the outer husk that exists on a seed which is useless.
      Definition of Chaff:
The chaff is the husk surrounding a seed, the part of the grain that is generally thrown away. In cereal crops like rice, barley, oats, and wheat, the seed - the part of the plant that we eat - is surrounded by a husk.

@@acaciarose2578 but you dont burn the chaff off of the wheat, you separate the 2 using a fan, or even the wind, and since the chaff is light, and the grain is heavy, it will make a clear separation, thats is why in verse 12 John brings up the fan, the fan is there for separation, and the grain is put into the barn, and the chaff being useless is thrown into the fire. This is a good thorough teaching which is much needed. So many conversations in general get taken out of context. Scripture is taken even more out of context.
I see it the way Torben explains it because the bible must be read carefully and read in context. Jesus spoke in many parables for good reason.
Test the spirits by the Holy Spirit. So many can unknowingly invite these others spirits which leads to deception. Thank God the Lord is patient for us to learn and discern when we get burned. And we do get burned by various spirits who deceive us time after time. I am a witness to that. It is real and is no joke. We stay vigilant. We keep learning our lessons. We stay focused on Christ and he will lead us into the deeper mysteries.

God is so incredibly intelligent that on many occasions he has words actions, dates and times that all coincide with more than one meaning. I believe wisdom will say that God may have more than one meaning for this. The word deceived is used too loosely today. To believe something initially that may not be 100% correct should not be considered that definition. Knowledge is a growing attribute of humanity. One day we are settled with a definition and years go by before we see it different. We are all on different paths trying to get to Jesus the Christ. If I don’t agree with something you believe then I would not say that your deceived no more than I would tell a 4 year old that his understanding is . We are all children growing up into Christ so that one day we will act like the sons that were supposed to be. Most of our understanding is assumed by us all until we have a personal revelation and then we have just begun to understand what a word means. There’s so much more to understand about any given word than what we are touching here and now.

Amen. I agree that certain portions have more then one meaning. And it's not good nor healthy to get defensive and up in arms over an interpretation.
I understand that Torben is representing the Reformed theologies view of fire baptism, taught by men like McArthur. I also understand Torben had a falling away from the charismania that went on in the 2000s and picked up alot of reformed theology to supplement that. Which is certainly where this interpretation of fire baptism stems from. As this is the baptists, calvinists and reformed camps interpretation of this issue.
I don't agree with him on it and on a separate video made the case for the purrifying and refining power of the Holy Spirit many charismatics understand the Holy Ghost and Fire to mean. So I mean, in my view it's really not a matter of deception, it's a matter of the proper interpretation of a minor doctrine.
Bottom line is Jesus was clear as crystal when He said if u ask for the Holy Ghost you won't receive a demon. (What He meant by serpent) and He said this to ease everyone's fears. It's terrible to provoke people to fear over anything less then that. If you preach that asking God for a baptism of the Holy Ghost and Fire, as mentioned by John The Baptist, is going to get you a demon. I have an issue with that. Very against the Word and it is promoting a spirit of fear and division in the Body of Christ.
Especially since this really comes down to the Reformed Camp vs the Charismatic camps interpretation of that portion of scripture.

I have heard references made to "Holy Ghost fire", but they were always referring to stirring up the gift within you.
The Holy Ghost gives us power to witness to others.
There are, I think, those who realize the Holy Ghost is a refining process over a lifetime.
I never heard of any 2nd baptism by the Holy Ghost.
Also, when not based on the Word, lots of things can look attractive. And regarding the Todd Bentley's of this world, the gifts & calling of God are without repentance, it doesn't mean everything they do is right. The Word of God is the plumb line we will be judged by, & there is a huge difference between someone who sins but repents, turns away from that sin, or those who go on in sin, even publicly, never admitting their sin, which is the same as denying Jesus Christ who bought them. The truth always comes out eventually.
Keep keepin' on, Torben & TLR in the mighty name of Jesus!

Let me tell you...I was baptized with fire! It was 100 %, unequivocally, damnation. This happened 20 years ago, seconds after rejecting Jesus the Living Christ. We don't go to Hell for "sins," we go to Hell for the (SIN) of UNBELIEF into Jesus. Also, believing "in" Jesus won't save anyone but it's a start. I seen Him and therefore Believed "in" him but didn't Believe INTO Him. Not long after that fire baptism, I went to my brother's wedding. "The wedding feast." And was told...."I missed out" over and over again.
In the last 20 years, I haven't met one person who was baptized with fire(damnation) by God, nor even came across a comment from RUclips of someone that did. Where are these people, other than myself?? I certainly would like to hear their experience.
If someone tells me that I'm now reserved for hell....I 'll say this, "because of that Horrifying baptism, being immersed in hell, being one with Hell, I now know what it means to believe INTO Jesus. You have to put the WEIGHT of YOUR ENTIRE EXISTENCE INTO the person Jesus Christ and INTO Him Alone for your Salvation. There is no holding back anything!!!" It's NOT YOU and JESUS but rather, it's... YOU OR JESUS. He that will save his life will lose it (hell) but he that will lose his life for my name's sake shall find it. So if I'm reserved for damnation, then why do I have This Truth Reign in my heart for the last 20 years? And Jesus is TRUTH. There are too many deceived"Christians." An easy Believism is a lie and a work based salvation is another lie.
Let me put it like this ...if The Living Christ stood before you right now....don't just stand there and "do church" by singing Glory, Glory, Hallelujah and shout I believe"in" Jesus because there He is right in front of me, 10 feet away. That won't give you LIFE. Instead....WALK INTO THE LIVING CHRIST TO RECEIVE LIFE!
He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him.

Baptism of fire is the day of the Lord. When He cast the tares into the fire. Often times when people just yell fire fire fire it’s usually to cast out demons (which in my experience do respond and are literally tormented when you say fire with faith) or it’s to impart a Kundalini spirit.

Instead of getting caught up with all the different understandings of baptism of fire, maybe we can step back and look at things that are crystal clear in the bible and live out our faith that way. If we don’t have Fruit of the Spirit, however spiritual gifted we are or whatever baptism of fire we get doesn’t matter.
Luke 12:49 “I came to send fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled! But I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how distressed I am till it is accomplished!
1Peter 2:19 “ For this is a gracious thing, when, mindful of God, one endures sorrows while suffering unjustly. For what credit is there if, when you sin and are harshly treated, you endure it with patience? But if when you do what is right and suffer for it you patiently endure it, this finds favor with God. For you have been called for this purpose, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in His steps, who committed no sin, nor was any deceit found in His mouth;”
Matthew 7:13 “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. 14 For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.

The word baptism derives from the Greek term which means to be immersed, of a liquid, of a fluid, etc. The apostle Paul says that the people of God were baptized in fire while crossing in the desert because the cloud and the fire accompanied them. So we can say that when we go outside in cloudy weather, we are enveloped in cloud, or we are baptized cloud, since the cloud envelops us. There is nothing mysterious, the word baptism is synonymous with being immersed. It's the same with the baptism of fire, there are people who are constantly enveloped in the fire of God. In this case, they are baptized with fire. There are other people who are at some point in their lives being invaded by the spirit of God like fire. It is a phenomenon that exists. In conclusion, it all depends on the experience we have with God. If one has experienced this immersion in the spirit of God and in fire, then one is convinced that it is baptism. If we have not had this experience, it is better not to be categorized on our opinion and to juge our brother and sister.

  • @KyleGFord

I agree. It's true. John the Baptist was referring to judgement in Matt 3. And the Holy Spirit baptism is all we need. There is no other Baptism.
However, God is infinite, and He gives His children wonderful gifts according to our knowledge of Him. So it is wrong to assume/teach that there is no spiritual fire element to our lives in God.
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego were cast into the Fire that was 7x hotter(7 represents Christ Jesus/Holy Spirit).
But they were not touched by the fire, and neither did their clothes smell like it. However the ropes which bound them were burned and removed. And all 3 of them were walking in the fire with Jesus the 4th person.
So just like the burning bush God used to draw Moses that was not consumed, there is a Holy Fire element available to Gods children who walk in righteousness, that is not for their punishment but is instead intended to destroy bondages, yolks, chains, and demonic strongholds, curses, attachments. The fire baptism is not for us who walk with the Lord but it is a weapon we have available to purge our lives and other peoples lives of the enemies works. It is a fire that is not against us, but we are empowered by God to walk through it with Jesus. It doesn't touch us but it prevents the enemy from coming near us.
    Isaiah 33:14-15
    “Who among us can live with the consuming fire? Who among us can live with continual burning?” He who walks righteously and speaks with sincerity, He who rejects unjust gain And shakes his hands so that they hold no bribe; He who stops his ears from hearing about bloodshed And shuts his eyes from looking upon evil;

The fire of God is there to burn away and of the stuff that’s not of God in us. Jesus said clearly I will baptize you in the Holy Spirit and fire. I believe the fire is both experiential and part of everyday life. The fire of God is all the situations that cause things to rise up in you that’s not of God so he can change those things.
But I’ve experienced the fire of God multiple times including while praying in tounges. One time for example I was camping on top of a mountain where it was cold and I was praying in tounges and all the sudden I started getting warm and feeling the fire.
Another time I went to this guys house and the man prays anywhere from 3-13 hours a day. His house was full of the presence and fire of God. Just walking in I felt the fire and was getting sweaty. When I say the fire I mean I was feeling it in the spirit. It had nothing to do with the the temp in the room.

Brother , this is in part referring to the separation of the wheat and tares. The holy spirit well energize the spirit inside which came from our father, as we are his children. The fire is a breaking down of the body so the generational evil/sins/negitive will "fall". I kinda hope our spirit can produce/manifest another body, simular to what Jesus did after he died. With enough holy spirit boosting us and guidence from Jesus, it should be possible. This may not jive with some preconceptions many churches have , but they havent figured out reality, as i have been doing for the last 5yrs. The physical and the spiritual is very intertwined and very close to the same thing. Euro Christianity has done a good job separating the two and dissociating the spirit/energy foundation from our physical reality. Many still know tho, mainly occultest , Tesla did; he understood it from a technical stand point as i have learned. 5 yrs ago i walked away from EVERYTHING (job, money, friends) to figure out how physical reality is changing retroactivly and our memories are being messed with. Turns out there are natural and evil manipulation reasons for this. When the antichrist comes as a god, you best have spiritual strenght and no fear of the reality infront of your eyes.

"Our God is a consuming fire." (Heb.12: 29) and His Spirit is revealed to us as fire (Rev.4: 5). On the day of Pentecost He manifested Himself as fire, as He filled His temple. Just as the prophecy of Malachi says: “And the Lord, whom you seek, will suddenly come to His temple... --- ...But who can endure the day of His coming? And who can stand when He appears?
For He is like a refiner’s fire and like launderers’ soap. He will sit as a refiner and a purifier of silver; He will purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer to the Lord an offering in righteousness." (Mal.3: 1-3) This is the baptism in the Holy Spirit and fire. He sanctifies! He is Holy Holy Holy Spirit! Here can the true sanctification only be experienced - in the Spirit of God (2.Thess.2: 13-14)! We are talking about the essence of God Himself who is fire. Even the eyes of the Son are like a flame of fire. Fire speaks of God's perfect holiness; it speaks of the revelation of God Himself (Exodus 3); and according to Song of Songs, also love (Songs.8: 6). I have come to (just a tiniest bit) to know God as terrifyingly holy fire, making you just tremble before Him in holy fear and awe (Hebr.12: 28). "Be silent, all flesh, before the Lord, for He is aroused from His holy habitation!” (Zechariah.2: 13) And yes, God's righteous judgment and wrath against all who are unrighteous, is revealed in FIRE, and they will burn in hell forever. Bible says, Jesus is coming back "in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ." (2.Thess.1: 8)

This is my position. Matthew 3:11
    New English Translation
11 “I baptize you with water, for repentance, but the one coming after me is more powerful than I am-I am not worthy[a] to carry his sandals! He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.[b]
With the Holy Spirit and fire. There are differing interpretations for this phrase regarding the number of baptisms and their nature. (1) Some see one baptism here, and this can be divided further into two options. (a) The baptism of the Holy Spirit and fire could refer to the cleansing, purifying work of the Spirit in the individual believer through salvation and sanctification, or (b) it could refer to two different results of Christ’s ministry: Some accept Christ and are baptized with the Holy Spirit, but some reject him and receive judgment. (2) Other interpreters see two baptisms here: The baptism of the Holy Spirit refers to the salvation Jesus brings at his first advent, in which believers receive the Holy Spirit, and the baptism of fire refers to the judgment Jesus will bring upon the world at his second coming. One must take into account both the image of fire and whether individual or corporate baptism is in view. A decision is not easy on either issue. The image of fire is used to refer to both eternal judgment (e.g., Matt 25:41) and the power of the Lord’s presence to purge and cleanse his people (e.g., Isa 4:4-5). The pouring out of the Spirit at Pentecost, a fulfillment of this prophecy no matter which interpretation is taken, had both individual and corporate dimensions. It is possible that since Holy Spirit and fire are governed by a single preposition in Greek, the one-baptism view may be more likely, but this is not certain. Simply put, there is no consensus view in scholarship at this time on the best interpretation of this passage.

That is why we do not read the verse alone, John told us what he meant by fire.
Matthew 3 : 11 - 12 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance. but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:
12 Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.
Jesus will baptize us with the Holy Ghost, and with fire. Then John says, "Whose fan is in his hand" what is the fan used for? The fan is used to separate the light dried out chaff with the heavy grain, the wind motion will separate the two, and it says he will gather the wheat into the garner, and burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire, the context of this verse proves to us what John meant by the baptism of the Holy Ghost, and the baptism of fire, there is no way for misinterpretation because John explained what he had meant, the only way for misinterpretation is if you read verse 11 alone. Wonderful, thank you Torben thank you! It’s amazing So much info.
Torben is right… there is only one Holy Spirit baptism.
My comment is about when father God baptized Jesus with the Holy Spirit the day he met John the Baptist, the Holy Spirit descended on him like a dove, not like a fire.
It’s interesting thing is Before Pentecost, Jesus told them the Spirit is with you and will live in you, and he breathed air to the apostles and said receive the Holy Spirit.
But we come after Pentecost so we receive every thing at once.
The word Spirit is associated with the Hebrew word fire.
1 Thessalonians 5:19 also says do not quench the Spirit’s fire. also remember in revelation before the throne of God are 7 lamps Ablaze, which are the 7 spirits of God. And Jesus said he and the father will live in you (our God is an all consuming fire). I think the Holy Spirit came upon the apostles like flickering flames. Not like a tongue? Because the tongue should be inside of a mouth I mean a tongue by itself cannot speak.
So I think we are the light and salt of the world because Holy Spirit in us is a light. And also Jesus said that rivers of living water will flow from our inner most being.
Sometimes it’s hard to understand, Kind of like the Trinity. Ok is it fire or water haha. Well the gift of tongues is that River of living water flowing from your belly.
Also it says judgement begins in God’s house, so there is refining for the church, and there is conviction from the Holy Spirit.
Apostle John said there are 3 which testify the blood, the water, and the spirit.
Remember The spiritual is more real than the physical.
In hell the spiritual lake of fire, there is a black all consuming fire, it even hurts to breath. It’s eternal purification but there is no end to it.

We cannot receive the 'baptism of fire by suffering' from another person (with the laying on of hands and prayer). We may only receive it by obeying His Spirit's voice and moving into action.

Not trying to be rude I am a born again Christian. Why do you think Jesus put the word fire in the subject of baptism? Like why didnt he say there is one who comes to baptize you in the Holy Spirit and that was the end of the conversation? Why is the word fire included under the context of baptism?

The fire in Matthew 3:11 is judgment. I understand and have felt physical manifestations, an electricity, a fire so to speak. And I have prayed in tongues. I don’t anymore.
Like many, I was biblical but doctrinally incorrect because I wasn’t dispensational. I had failed to study the Scriptures as it commands in 2Timothy 2:15 KJV, rightly divided.
Per Ephesians 2:12; Matthew 10:5-6; Matthew 15:23-24; Acts 10:28 KJV, the Lord Jesus Christ wasn’t talking us (non-Jews) until He gave the revelation of the mystery (Romans 16:25) to the Apostle Paul. The revelation of the mystery is the Body of Christ, the Church, consisting of new creatures that believe in the gospel of Christ (see 1Corinthians 15:1-4; Ephesians 1:13; Ephesians 2:8-9).
Our primary connection with God in today’s dispensation of grace (Ephesians 3:2 KJV) is through His word, not some pseudo-supernatural relationship. If you’re hearing the voice of God outside of your study of the Scriptures, it’s probably a devil.
It’s God’s responsibility to inspire, preserve, and make His word available to us. Therefore, it’s no coincidence the King James Bible stands alone as the most printed book in history. No book will ever surpass its printing, number of books sold, nor its 400 plus years of utilization. When you face God, you won’t be able to say, “Why didn’t you tell me?”
Good doctrine requires you to study the Scriptures in context or you could cause irreparable damage with eternal consequences. God gave the common man the key (2Timothy 2:15 KJV) to understanding the Scriptures so their knowledge would surpass that of the world’s so-called experts.
The King James Bible is God’s inspired and preserved Word, the Scriptures. Here’s an e-book that’ll show how to study the Scriptures as it commands us to in 2Timothy 2:15 KJV, rightly divided, which means in context.
    www.graceambassadors.com/downloads/StartRightlyDividing_PDF.pdf none!
2Ti 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

You are right. We went through the same process. We were 20 years in Pentecostal churches and the Lord took us out there. We came across teachings from Gene Kim and Robert Breaker and learned that we must use dispensation. As there is Scripture for Jews and scripture for Christians. Now we read mostly the KJV and Valera 1602, purificada, which is an equivalent to the KJV. In Addition we use a very old Luther bible as we live in Germany, e.g. I am a German. We are very glad God lead us to the right path and gave us precious brothers and sisters. The Lord bless you. Maranatha!

God bless you Torben for your teaching! 🙏
I agree 100% that the baptism with fire has nothing to do with the immersion into the Holy Spirit.
If I may add my 2 coins. “Fire” is related to judgment but for believers it’s a bit different.
Baptism is transliteration from the Greek word “immersion”. Indeed “he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:” (Mat 3:11) follows judgment discourse about Him discerning “the wheat” from “the chaff” where the latter to be burned with “unquenchable fire”. Definite reference to “the lake of fire” that is “forever and ever” (Rev 20:10).
In general “fire” is related to God’s judgment representing God’s wrath because Jehovah being holy is a “consuming fire” that consumes sin and sinners. Jehovah as a fire consumes sacrifices (Lev 9:24), and wood, and even water with the burnt sacrifice prepared by Elijah before killing 450 priests of Baal (1 Kings 18:38).
God is holy, and nothing unholy can survive in His proximity, so “the LORD thy God is a consuming fire, even -- a jealous God” (Deut 4:24, Heb 12:29). Jealously points to idolatry- abomination to the Lord that causes His jealousy.
Fire is related to judgment and punishment of the sin and sinners is “fire from the LORD out of heaven” (Gen 19:24) - punishment by the LORD of Sodom and Gomorrah. Jehovah’s wrath was kindled as fire and He consumed part of the camp - sinners (Num 11:1).
However, 1st time in the OT the word fire (Heb. “esh”) = is used in Gen 15:17 as the imagery of Jehovah during the making of the covenant with Abraham were Jehovah alone as “a burning lamp” was passing between pieces of the blood of sacrificial animals. Burning bush seen by Moses also is the imagery used for the presence of the Angel of the Lord. So fire indeed represents Jehovah, however the emphasis is on his holiness, thus condemnation of sin and all that is sinful.
Gods is light and there is no darkness in him. Light signifies the eternal life (Jn 1). God is Love and being holy and whole it means presence of wrath in Him against anything that is not holy. If God loves truth He will hate lies! That’s not 2 faces of God but rather consistency of who He is.
    ---
Note that a meaning of the word “sin” in Heb includes also “a sacrifice for sin”, and without this idea that Christ being sinless himself became a “sin” and became a “curse” one cannot understand a lot of passages, especially who is the “husband” that dies in Rom 7:2-3, result of what our body becomes free of sin. The “husband” is “my sin” because Jesus became “my sin”.
    ===============
However for believers who are in Christ “fire” does NOT mean the God’s judgment. Believers are not condemned, they have been ransomed out of the God’s wrath!
John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. … 36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
As you taught about the Hebrew sense of the word “believers”, they are ”doers of the Word” (James 1:22). Hence, for them the immersion into fire means God’s TRIALS for the chosen people where imagery of fire is from OT:
    Isaiah 1:25
25 And I will turn my hand upon thee, and purely purge away thy dross, and take away all thy tin:
Psalms 66:10 For thou, O God, hast proved us: thou hast tried us, as silver is tried.
Proving with fire here is compared with a process when a metal is being remelt in fire in order to remove slag and increase its purity.
The idea of the Heb word “mishpat” in OT, translated as “judgment”, is double:
    1) as decision of the court (in heavens by God, or on earth by priesthood), and
    2) as ability to discern between good and evil that should be present in each believer.
The 2nd meaning is the right one in the majority of cases in the OT, and also in the NT this ability characterizes the spiritually adults:
Hebrews 5:14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
There are several judgments in the Bible but the major one is depending on our choice to believe during the life time - into wheats and chaff that is consequence of faith or lack of faith. But for believers chastening via trials is the blessing from the Lord:
1 Cor 11:31-32 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.
This text is significant because it’s right after the initiation of the Holy Supper were important point is to become “worthy” from the God’s judgment point of view. We become worthy because of Christ’s holiness if we are in Him, so we get His righteousness in the eyes of the Father. Worthy is one who is ready for rapture. We must be doers of the Word today, and every day, as the smart virgins.
Mat 22:8 Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy.
1 Peter 4:17 For the time [is come] that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if [it] first [begin] at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
IOW our court trial is now, God judges us during our life time, and the goal for us is to be worthy, to be ready for the rapture, each day of our life. Because “today’ is the day of my deliverance, every day (see Heb 3,4).
    1 Peter 1:5
5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. 6 Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: 7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: …
Note that chastening by the Lord concerns only believers - those who are in Christ. Because
    Hebrews 12:8
8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
    To complete this review,
First, there is no such word as “baptism” in the NT, because that’s a transliteration from the Greek word “immersion”.
Water baptism is immersion via water into the Body of Christ, into the name of Jesus Christ, into His death, and into the Kingdom of God (Jn 3:5), but literally translating Acts 2:38 - it’s an immersion “into the forgiveness of sins”.
It might be controversial but I believe our immersion into the body of Jesus very likely mystically happens during Jesus’s baptism/immersion into water in Mat 3:15 “to fulfill all righteousness”. IOW so that we might be dressed in Him, and get His righteousness. When Jesus comes out from water, the Father sees all the Church in HIM and is utterly satisfied saying “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased “.

Hi Torben, thank you for this teaching ! Yes the bottom line is by their fruits you shall know them.
We all need to examine ourselves to see whether we are faithful obedient disciples of Jesus. Are we truly following Jesus or another Jesus, and have we received the Holy Spirit or another spirit.. Do we really fear God? It is almost like the more you walk with Him the more your reverently fear Him and Love Him More, and the more you are in awe of Him because He is God , and we are but man. Do we know that we must have pure holy devotion to Christ Jesus. Do christians know that there will be sorting out of good and bad who are caught in the Kingdom's dragnet? Does anyone really know His own heart? His own motives? Who will be able to stand before Him? We must be like little children in our pure devotion and obedience to Him. That is why Jesus said narrow and difficult is the Way that leads to life, few ever find it. Jesus said to pray always that we don't fall into temptation, to be awake, sober, vigilant . And in Mat 13:40 NLT “Just as the weeds are sorted out and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the world. 41 The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will remove from his Kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. 42 And the angels will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Thank you for your teaching, ... 'But Jesus We ate in your Presence, We drank in your Presence ! you taught in our streets ! But Jesus will say "Depart from me, I never knew you, you workers of iniquity (you who do evil).' My Prayer is "Father God, help us Lord God to be obedient & faithful servants, stewards & disciples of Jesus Christ Your Son and produce good fruit for eternal life, in Jesus Name I pray Amen"

Christ will baptize us with holy spirit and truth, fire is truth, truth hurts as if you are burning when you have a guilty conscience, when you tell a sinner his sin and that it should stop and repent, and he loves that sin he does not want to let go, in him immediately the fire begins, the guilt of conscience knows it is wrong and the fire of hell is kindled and burns until it turns away from that sin and repents

20 mins in and it seems like we have the same conclusion.
    Matt 3:1-12 warning, judgement, fire.
    Luke 3:4-18 warning, judgement, fire.
Mark 1:1-8 no warnings, no judgement, no fire.
John 1:23-34 no warnings,no judgement, no fire.
    Acts 1:4-5 no fire.
We should be careful what we ask for, I believe baptism with Holy Spirit and baptism with fire are two contrasting things and “with fire” is not what anyone should be seeking.
Acts 2:3 is like as of fire, not literal fire.
Water baptism is actual water, Holy Spirit baptism is actual Holy Spirit, fire baptism wouldn’t be any different would it? I don’t think so and we can find an actual immersion in fire here ⬇️
    Revelation 20:14-15
That’s my thoughts and I hope someone will read the passages above.
    God bless.

Yes, the chaff or sin is burnt by fire as god deals with souls to purify them so they become born again with the gift of the holy spirit speaking in tongues with the baptism of water, are a new creature, or gather the wheat in the garner after the process is finished for the results of repentance. Also, god deals with sinners who are dead and judged and cast into the eternal fire, so god deals with those that die. After they are judged by God are cast into the eternal fire for those that did not repent while alive and disputed the word of God so they had judgment fallen themselves for christ said every idle word that comes from the mouth shall be accounted for.
