Hopefully a good frame builder will run with this 03 air unit cage idea. Make it quick release and have a series of all different frame types you can pop it into. Then you would only need one 03 air unit and maybe a backup for all your quads. I just received this frame in the mail yesterday and am building it out as a type this using your video. Much appreciated. It sure makes the building go faster.

I am glad you enjoyed it. I prefer motor connectors because the FC is buried deep in the frame after the build. It's much easier to swap or replace motors later. I will take a look at the GNB27, thanks!
Awesome, I wish i had the eyesight to solder such small parts. I’d buy this in a heartbeat for some indoor shoots in busy places as the sub100 is a game changer with 4k quality. What was the all up cost do you think?
So did I, therefore I purchased socket connector installed FC which has sockets for motor, FC and Rx are already soldered. The ballpark cost is FC$70, Frame $20 and motors/props $60.
@@dubsrcfpvandfamilyfuntimes913 Betafpv was selling beta test units on their website and it was soldout quickly. Expected release date of the official product should be some time next month, stay tuned!

You meant i was suggesting to get the 1002 14,000kv in my DIY sub100g (video)? Well, 1002 would be better suited for my 75 O3 spinning 40mm props as a smaller quad, hence my comment. This test unit from betafpv is larger at 80ish mm and the prop size is 45mm, hence 1102 would make more sense. I will so some tests later and make another video when the weather cooperates, it has been 2 weekends in a row raining 😵
On paper it should be around 3 minutes. It was almost too dark to fly out there so I had to cut the test flight short. I will make another video testing the quad when the weather cooperates, stay tuned!
@@flyingpudding hopefully it will be nice for you in Vancouver later this week. I live in Portland, Oregon, and it's supposed to be close to 70 on Wed., and close to 80? on the weekend! We'll see...
I had the same question and I clarified with them. That's the name used for the FC (having 1s in the name on the web product page) while it is indeed capable for both 1s and 2s operations. It worked in my test as written in the specification. You may definitely use any 2s capable FC as I mentioned in the video.
Nice. Looks great! Thanks for the nice tutorial. Looking at the build, would it be more praticable to have the lipo on the top? Maybe a feedback to Betafpv (?)
Thanks for your comment! I actually had everything includimg the lipo strapped on top of a plastic frame in my own DIY version that I brought to Japan in February (build video in my channel too). Handling is not the best being top heavy and also tail heavy. The controls feel very neutral anf stable with Betafpv's design because weight is distributed more evenly. I too have some concerns about the battery tray serves as landing gear, in a pusher config. It is definitely a dilemma.
@@flyingpudding I literally just finished an hour ago mounting the “same” as your DIY build following your tutorial. I say same as I did not want to remove my O3 and used a Vista instead. Just finished test 4 flights with 2s and 3s batteries using the 85 frame. It flys very well! I adapted the frame as well to have a battery strap on the top. Very handy… and I agree, I do not like the idea landing on the battery.
IMO, battery on top would make it too top heavy. On bottom, with heavy 03 on top, evens weight out. more balanced. If you have a 3d printer, you could easily design tiny landing gear that may add a gram or two in weight, but alleviate your concerns about landing on the battery (cage). Is this available as a kit from BetaFPV? Can you add links to this video please?

iff you mount the O3 to the other side (180º), it will balance and you will get a better CG = better flight + longer flight time.
