My one doesn’t have the obstacle detection yet. But it’s still pretty cool. I love to do tricks with it and impress friends and family. Definitely worth the buy.

They are probably cheaper because Boston Dynamic accidently opted for Chinese manufacture. Its cheaper because Boston Dynamics ate the research and development and are passing the cost onto the customer.
