After watching Forks over knives (4 years ago) my family and I went plant based and we love it! I come here for the delicious and healthy recipes! Thank You for everything you do!
I love love love oat groats! I eat then every day with berries for breakfast. Today with the instant pot they're so easy. I throw in a cup of groats, a cup of water and press the porridge button and walk away. Topically I make it after dinner... Or it in the pot and take off for my evening walk. By the time I get back the groats are done. I divide it up into 4 storage bowls, add a TBS of ground flax, a tsp of cinnamon and Wala! Breakfast for 4 days. In the mornings I add 6 oz of berries, sometimes a half ounce of walnuts. Perfect!
I'm so happy to let you know that I have been on this plan for 18 weeks now & don't miss all the things I was so use to eating! Can't wait to see the heart doctor in February - I've been blessed finding your husband's book & just know I will not need heart surgery!
Watched so many of your videos with recipes - was loving them. Then I came across this one. Your throwaway line about a person who said they were 85% plant based, and you said "That's not plant based", or something to that effect, just GUTTED me. We can't all be perfect. We have to start somewhere. Saying 85% isn't plant based, and isn't enough? Gosh. Thanks. Wishing you all a 100% life.

These videos and their cookbook focus on healing or preventing heart disease. Rick Esselstyn's "Engine 2" books and products are vegan but allow more choices. Good luck to you.
Really love your new video with greens. I bought your cookbook and have been vegan mostly for 5 weeks. Had a steak and a salmon this weekend. No oil. Still not sure where to get all the calories from. I eat all day lost weight and got a bit tired. Also quit coffee. Blood pressure is down and seems like a new lifestyle. Now starting at the beginning to watch I’ll your videos, way more entertaining than tv.

In 2014, I went to TrueNorth Health and learned from Dr. Goldhamer, “Stay away from MEAT, FISH, FOWL, DAIRY AND EGGS”, which I memorized and it rolls off the tongue now. I have reversed my heart disease (CHF) but I do eat the nuts, avocado, and coconut, :( I don't eat a lot of them, but make things with them. Is that bad? I want to keep my CHF away. My father died of it, cause I was sooo young and dumb and no one knew what to do totally to help him. He passed in 1983, at age 58. I was diagnosed with the same CHF in 2010 at age 52! I have a wonderful cardiologist who practices what Dr. Dean Ornish teaches to eliminate all animal products, no oils! Anyway, Now we know these great things, and how to prevent, cure with out pharma. Thank you for all you do! I believe also that when I prayed for healing, Jesus sent me all my peeps, Drs. to help educate me. He sent me y'all too!!! G-d bless you!
It’s not bad these are healthy fats from the whole plant that reduce inflammation in the body and are essential for good, healthy and glowing skin. You need those omegas especially omega 3 to prevent heart disease additionally they are a good source of certain essential minerals .
Eating whole food sources of fats (avocados, nuts, seeds, coconut, olives) is not the same as a fat or oil that has been separated from the plant. Consuming Some fats from Whole Foods helps your body better absorb several nutrients (particularly vitamins A/betacarotene, E, D and K).
unfortunately people with heart problems cannot eat nuts, coconut and avocado. Other comments with Omega 3 are misleading, please check Dr Esselstyn website - you will find more information there. He only suggests clean - no nuts diet for people with heart diseases. He is very strict.
Been eating this way for the past 7 years and loving it. We are both in our 70’s and feel very happy, active and healthy. Loved FORKS OVER KNIVES and Rips ENGINE TWO DIET.
Love my organic whole oats from the bulk section of Sprouts. I usually buy about 6 pounds when they are on sale. I eat them every morning with wild blueberries, cinnamon, and cardamon. After watching your video on oats, I sometimes eat them as an after dinner treat! 😋 Love ❤️ you both! 😘

This makes me happy and sad. My parents were born in the 30's, Dad died of a heat attack aged 60 and I am now caring for my Mum who has Vascular Dementia and Type 2 Diabetes. Tough on them, and tough on me as well. I can make sure that I and my daughter do not have to suffer in the same way, spread the word folks- for health, for the planet and for the animals!

Plant-based since last December and it is anything but hard or difficult! I'm actually having fun with it. I bought and read The Starch Based Solution and stick with that. However, I play like I am at my easel in the kitchen. Lots of color and flavor. One of my big go-to's is my own hummus on potatoes. Sweet potato or plain with a dollop or two of plain hummus (okay guilty as I add coriander and cumin) or my roasted red pepper hummus. For the side, it is either a salad (yeah, more color) or spinach sauteed in garlic. I don't use oils. Thank you for being there and perhaps leading more to a sustainable diet that is also better for their health.

I'm transitioning to vegan now. Been vegetarian for 20 years. The hardest part has been giving up cheese but I've seen so many great vegan options which gives me hope!
Thank you for you great videos and recipes. I have a couple of your books and love them. I have a hard time not cheating with sugar when stressed because my family is not on the bandwagon with me yet. I'm hoping they will so that it gets easier but I just have to keep trying. I have Rip's Engine 2 diet to thank for both of my daughters. My husband and I were married for 8 years and couldn't have children but doctors could find no reason. I went on the Engine 2 diet and got pregnant after 2 months. Then 4 years later tries the diet again and was pregnant after 2 weeks. For some reason I haven't been sticking to it although I know it's the best way to live. Thank you for your down to earth presentations and for all of your help.
