I met a woman in her 60's, who was raped, and got pregnant by her dad. I met her when Roe had just been overturned that day. She was raised in a religious community, so abortion wasn't her "choice." She had her sister-daughter when she was a teen. She figured God would take care of the situation. Her child died at 6, due to inbreeding issues. Im a white woman that was lucky enough to live in the good-ol-days. You know, the days when we had to ask our mothers why abortion used to be illegal as that just seemed primative and frankly gross that it would be anyones business but your own. I was in eighth grade in 1977 so the thought of a bunch of other people, especially men knowing or feeling they need to know about my personal life freaked me out. I remember making sure there were no open curtains in my room as i was pretty sure peeping in windows would be 1 way of knowing whatever they wanted to know. I recall putting quite a bit of thought into why do they need to know my stuff? And why dont people seem to be freaked out? As soon as your show is over, ill be voting. Blue, of couse, i had good parents.
100% on the issues in Florida. The republican legislation in Florida has consistently gone against what we vote in. In the past mid terms there was a bill asking to approve rent control. It was on the ballot, yet somehow the results didn't matter due to a judge doing some bullshit last minute. Florida is extremely un-democratic and it blows my mind how many republcans who are so called "patriots" never speak about it. The media rarely speaks about it either.

He's up for reelection in two years. I'm hopeful he'll be ousted. Florida hasn't always been a bright red state, and I feel the pendulum is beginning to swing back to sanity. I'm an old white Florida man, and I've lived with seven Democratic Florida governors. Some of them were pretty conservative as far as Democrats go, but definitely center, or left of center. I'm hopeful that 2024 will surprise a lot of people who feel we're solid red.

White women were very upset about Clayton Williams’s jokes about SA, so they voted for her instead. There might be a blue wave in Texas if this same spirit prevails. This past weekend I attended a birthday party at an upscale restaurant. When I went to the restroom, my stall had a note inside the door reminding women that our votes are private and we are free to vote our conscience.
I live in the prong of the buckle of the Bible Belt (I can see BJU from my house). In the Deep South (& other Bible Belt embracing states), it is due to the self-loathing induced by the religious misogyny of the evangelicals. I saw a recent story about a white Georgia woman in her 80's who was voting for the very first time because her evangelical husband forbade her to do so. He had died last year & so she was voting for the first time. This is a lot more common here than many people realize & it is so infuriating.

What I have learned this year: a lot of people apparently don't know that their ballot is secret. And yes, I've had poll workers try to peek but I DO NOT let them. I hold it under my sweater so they can't see what I marked. For nonwomen: this is because poll workers are likely to tell your husband/father who you voted for. You have every right to enforce this boundary.

At first I tend to get offended when I see the whole “all white women” thing about voting for tRump, because I only know a few women who voted for him, most of my gang are and have been democrats. But then, I am also baffled (and getting angry) about the white women who do vote for him. My MIL voted and I am assuming voting for him again this time. I met a woman in her 60's, who was raped, and got pregnant by her dad. I met her when Roe had just been overturned that day. She was raised in a religious community, so abortion wasn't her "choice." She had her sister-daughter when she was a teen. She figured God would take care of the situation. Her child died at 6, due to inbreeding issues. This woman, now, was hollow, as she explained the situation. Trump thinks it's a "temporary situation?" Think again.

Im a white woman that was lucky enough to live in the good-ol-days. You know, the days when we had to ask our mothers why abortion used to be illegal as that just seemed primative and frankly gross that it would be anyones business but your own. I was in eighth grade in 1977 so the thought of a bunch of other people, especially men knowing or feeling they need to know about my personal life freaked me out. I remember making sure there were no open curtains in my room as i was pretty sure peeping in windows would be 1 way of knowing whatever they wanted to know. I recall putting quite a bit of thought into why do they need to know my stuff? And why dont people seem to be freaked out? As soon as your show is over, ill be voting. Blue, of couse, i had good parents.

White women were very upset about Clayton Williams’s jokes about SA, so they voted for her instead. There might be a blue wave in Texas if this same spirit prevails. This past weekend I attended a birthday party at an upscale restaurant. When I went to the restroom, my stall had a note inside the door reminding women that our votes are private and we are free to vote our conscience.

I live in the prong of the buckle of the Bible Belt (I can see BJU from my house). In the Deep South (& other Bible Belt embracing states), it is due to the self-loathing induced by the religious misogyny of the evangelicals. I saw a recent story about a white Georgia woman in her 80's who was voting for the very first time because her evangelical husband forbade her to do so. He had died last year & so she was voting for the first time. This is a lot more common here than many people realize & it is so infuriating.

61 more EC votes makes it happen!
Nevada's House and Senate have approved it; if they approve it again in 2025, it goes on their statewide ballot in 2026. Gov Steve Sisolak vetoed it in 2019, but it's passed again since then.

Biggest of the 9 states declining to give it a hearing are TX & FL.
Biggest of 17 states to give it at least one committee hearing are PA, GA, OH.

I hold it under my sweater so they can't see what I marked. For nonwomen: this is because poll workers are likely to tell your husband/father who you voted for. At first I tend to get offended when I see the whole “all white women” thing about voting for tRump, because I only know a few women who voted for him, most of my gang are and have been democrats. But then, I am also baffled (and getting angry) about the white women who do vote for him. My MIL voted and I am assuming voting for him again this time. The problem is this putting abortion on the ballot allows people to vote against abortion bans but also allows them to still vote for republicans. Those measures should only be on the ballot by who you vote for or against.

With regard to pests where I live in North Carolina, other than Trump, Vance, Robinson, smh… we have issues with mosquitoes. Our mosquitoes are so large they have ticks.
