He’s struggling a lot now these days with age and that car crash that did also mess up his memory but yes. The fact even then he was chatting along as clearly and such here is even remarkable. More or less of him being alive as well.
Although the band carried on in the 80s and beyond with various singers, it never felt the same as in Black Sabbath's 70s heyday. Black Sabbath truly was Iommi, Osbourne, Butler and Ward. No other lineup has ever had the same chemistry as these four guys had in their prime.
Yea, well had Ozzy stayed and recorded with them through the 80's they certainly would not have sounded like they did in the 70's. That's obvious from the last two albums they did with him and Bill Ward. Zeppelin either, see Rush in the 80's, or Uriah Heep.
They're all so interesting. Especially Bill's words here give a perspective about them as a band through his experiences. You understand them through this set of interviews.
Love these guys. Have been a fan since early 70's and now my 10 year old son has his Tony Iommi signature guitar and is banging out all the classic Sabbath and solo Ozzy riffs. Keeping music real.
Oh yes. Every members where equaly important. Take one out and it simply would not have worked. And the songs does not work properly without them all in my opinion
Many people - even back in the day - don't realize how much core talent this band has. They got typecast by the "satanic" image, but there were a hardcore rock band with phenomenal abilities.
maybe one of my favorite sabbath moments, everyone is cackling and that's a beautiful thing. but Bill has been dealing with Ozzy's jokes since '68 he's had enough "to end this I'd like to throw myself under a truck and you can film that..... I hate you".
Been listening since the early 70's. Still love Sabbath & Ozz! Best thing that ever happened to OZZY was getting fired from Sabbath! His solo career rocks!!!!!
It's someone else playing a nylon string acoustic versions of Pantera. Yes it's very annoying, especially when they add Sabbath playing themselves on top of it while still continuing this great interview. Yes, it makes it very hard to watch!
@13:20 funny i read your comment just as they did that section about volume and sound. Reminds me of "11" obviously but how Spinal Tap described their sound as " painful". 😁🇬🇧👍
The first record album I ever bought, (with the proceeds from my paper delivery route) was Black Sabbaths Paranoid. I had previously saved up and got a cheap record player from the club book. When I first played the album, my mum about had a fit. She was shouting for me to turn it down and at the same time asking me what the heck kind of music was it.
With two older brothers Sabbath was the soundtrack of my youth. Along with Zeppelin, Priest and Aerosmith. I had to screen my guests as early as 4th grade. If I brought someone home from school I would have to announce whether they were 'cool' or not so my brothers and their friends would know if they had to hide their weed. I learned eventually to keep my circle of friends pretty tight. Musically that early influence stuck with me til this day. Not so much the weed.
I am soooo glad I watched this. Sabbath are one of my icons, touchstones, for what it meant to grow into a young man and then an older man. I didn't know then how they suffered for their art, as we all know now how many artists produced arguably their best work while off their nut albeit chemically induced. I had the nice opportunity to cook dinner for Sabbath many years ago as part of the backstage catering for an OzzFest appearance by the band and I was surprised to see that a few of them requested vegan food! I guess part of their awakening and individual change. From watching this I now understand why Bill chose not to be part of the last tour, which was sad - he simply didn't need to. God Bless Black Sabbath and Never Say Die!!!
How have I missed this Interview, one of the best interviews that explains, life, anger, friendship, drugs, sex, money, happiness. I swear, ill take a pilgrimage once in every month to this video :)
"There's only one Black Sabbath with Ozzy Osbourne, Gezzer Butler, Tony Iommi and Bill Ward."--Ozzy Osbourne Then they record an album under the name of Black Sabbath without Bill Ward!

28:52 till 31:11, so bad ass, this whole video is bad ass glad I watched it, Black Sabbath had so many strong brilliant levels of discernment they were truly phenomenal themselves, I'm so thankful to be such a life long fan, God bless Black Sabbath, I'll always have them in my heart, they'll always give me that deep feeling in my gut that tells me I'm listening to the Gods, Ozzy, Geezer, Tony and Bill, shout out to the 5th member always, vol 4/Paranoid, thanks for letting us watch the video too James🔥✌️🔥✌️🔥
I wish they would re-release The Last Supper, with these great and priceless interviews between the songs. It would fit on one DVD now. I hit the floor when it was released, never thought it would happen...
Yes Ozzy no matter the 4 of your age you do more than give the young punks a run for thier money lol you guys are far and above anyone and that for me will never change
Around 9 minutes when they're falling about laughing at Bill - that's Birmingham, England right there. That's what we are like and what we sound like. up the Villa.
I understand how Bill felt about Ozzie leaving, but I still love the way he took his accent cues, or at least that's how it sounds to me, mostly from Geezer on the very first Dio Sabbath album.
Really interesting. Four intelligent guys. Amazing and upfront. That's one of the best interviews I've ever seen. Pity Ozzy got sacked after. To me . To me their best album. Never say Die.
The flyer that Ozzy left at the record store.. "Ozzy Z I G needs a gig.. Has own PA." Would today fetch a SMALL FORTUNE.. Would be worthy of a shrine on display at the R&R Hall of fame.

It's funny how they all interact with Ozzy. They all treat him the same way. Like that crazy uncle that is just as likely to take everyone to a fancy restaurant as he is likely to curse at little children. lmao.
"We'll give these young punks a run for their money." No, Ozzy, you're way ahead. There's no "run" for any "money." No band formed in the last 30 years can touch you.

The mere fact that Ozzy is upright and talking in complete sentences is a marvel of modern medicine.
He’s struggling a lot now these days with age and that car crash that did also mess up his memory but yes.
The fact even then he was chatting along as clearly and such here is even remarkable. More or less of him being alive as well.

That was a developed niche to separate his real fans from the new phony ones.
No, it means the so called "facts" you've been taught about drugs, is 90% BS😂
Toni's accident: when you lose something in a tragedy, you always gain a gift in return. This band is that example of that...
Makes sense if your on drugs
The older I get the more I appreciate Black Sabbath...Bill is really cool to boot, I wish He did the last tour with them.
I reckon he would've if a certain woman didn't get in the way and I think he just couldn't give a fuck by then.
Although the band carried on in the 80s and beyond with various singers, it never felt the same as in Black Sabbath's 70s heyday. Black Sabbath truly was Iommi, Osbourne, Butler and Ward. No other lineup has ever had the same chemistry as these four guys had in their prime.
Every incarnation is amazing to me being my fav band ever but I completely agree with you. Iommi, Butler, Osbourne and Ward are the true Black Sabbath
Yea, well had Ozzy stayed and recorded with them through the 80's they certainly would not have sounded like they did in the 70's. That's obvious from the last two albums they did with him and Bill Ward. Zeppelin either, see Rush in the 80's, or Uriah Heep.
That's true, but there's no denying that Heaven & Hell is a tremendous record.
Tony Iommi is the only sabbath member to play on every album. HE is sabbath, no questions asked.
Bill actually has wonderful voice
They're all so interesting. Especially Bill's words here give a perspective about them as a band through his experiences. You understand them through this set of interviews.

Man, Bill Ward was an amazing drummer in the early days. He and Geezer were the most swinging rhythm section around.
...on a tiny jazz kit... !! ... the versatility, the heaviness. The Magic.

Black Sabbath on/off stage stories are the best.
It's so good seeing these 4 giants sitting and laughing together. :)
The GREATEST BAND! that ever walked on earth!
Unbelievable that all four are still alive!
Love seeing these guys lounging around and laughing after all the shit they have been through together.
That guitar in the background is just not doing it for me. Its so distracting to the interviews. Sorry man.
Agreed, why would you put Pantera no a Black Sabbath video...
Right you are! Totally annoying.
Absolutely right brother why PANTERA song on Sabbath's documentary and it's distracting too much
maybe the background guitar is as polarising as early sabbath
PANTERA! ... be thankful it was chosen.

God bless Black Sabbath
The awful midi guitar makes this nearly unwatchable.
It's Planet Caravan played by a robot, who jumbled-up all the notes for copyright reasons.
No, it's a mix of everything, parts of cemetery gates from pantera and more. And it really makes it hard to follow this interview...
It's someone else playing a nylon string acoustic versions of Pantera. Yes it's very annoying, especially when they add Sabbath playing themselves on top of it while still continuing this great interview. Yes, it makes it very hard to watch!
