CLEAR & TSA Pre are amazing! I can't imagine flying without it anymore. Has saved my butt numerous times at the airport when I've misjudged how busy it would be. CLEAR agents have always been super friendly. I recommend both to everyone. Thanks for the video + info.
Having both is amazing. I just went through a situation where the Precheck line was ridiculously long and Clear really came in handy. I’m a fan of using them in combination.
Its crazy, its faster sometimes going straight to TSA precheck than going through clear
Yep. I agree.
I love the combination. I flew out of newark airport on Sunday the 21st my flight was at 6:30pm I arrived at the airport at 5:30. I walked through the clear line, then tsa precheck and I was in the sky club by 5:40 grabbing a bite to eat and a Diet Coke before the boarding began at 6:00pm
There is no other way to go.
This is a perfect example of why I love the two in combination. It feels like you just park your car and walk straight to the lounge. Easy.
Clear is amazing!! I have it and it has been SO convenient when I travel. Don't have TSA Precheck though but that's alright - it's usually the ID line that takes the longest time (which you can bypass with Clear). :)
CLEAR really does the heavy lifting. The TSA precheck lines have been ridiculously long over th least few weeks. However, CLEAR helps me bypass even those long TSA lines. Regardless if you have CLEAR, tsa precheck, or both, it helps make airport travel a more enjoyable experience. I’m glad you’ve had positive experiences so far. I have yet to run into anyone who has a negative thing to say about CLEAR. Thanks for sharing and thanks for watching!
I used it at LAX, BSO and SFO loved it.
Awesome! I have had nothing but positive things to say about it. It’s almost too easy to use. Can’t go without it now. Thanks for sharing and thanks for watching!
@@thebrandonboydshow absolutely.
I flew from Cincinnati to Houston a month or so ago and with an 8 am flight, I showed up at 6 am and the TSA line was out the door into the main hallway! I kept seeing one of the agents bringing people up to the front of the TSA line but didn't know why until now! TSA at CVG can be slow....I guess getting the CLEAR pass set up would definitely be a benefit for days like that! Thanks!
The TSA precheck lines can be long. Having Clear takes that risk out of the equation. I love it!!!
I love the combination of Clear and TSA Precheck. I get to cut to the front of TSA Precheck, not get my ID out, and keep on my shoes!
They work so well in combination together.
@@thebrandonboydshow Having both Clear and TSA Precheck is awesome. It has consistently gotten me through security very quickly. One less thing to stress over getting to the airport. Happy New Year!
That’s so cool & convenient!!
I love it. No need to rush to the airport two hours early every time you fly. And, if you run late, you’re not sweating it because you know you can bust through security very quickly. I’m a fan.
Traveling with my son (5 year old) for the first time (single, widowed mom). Nervous so I got the TSA pre check and CLEAR. Not messing around flying out of Orlando three times this year and two of those are holidays 😬 fingers crossed 🤞
You’ll have an easy trip through Orlando then. That airport has ridiculous lines sometimes even for PreCheck. Adding Clear was a wise move in your case for sure!!!
@@thebrandonboydshow oh that is a relief 😅 to hear. Anything is worth not having to stress especially with a little on in tow. We are carry on only too. So I’m hoping for a smooth trip. I have been watching countless videos on how to travel (rules etc). Your video was very informative. Thank you! 😊
@@JessicaSaint33 if you do t mind, let me know how the experience goes for you as a new user to the Clear program especially at that airport. It gets crazy at times. Let me know if I can answer any questions for you along the way. You have enough on your plate to handle. I’m happy to help.
As a college student, I get CLEAR for $50/year!!
That’s awesome. We really enjoy Clear. Makes life that much easier.
no it’s fantastic! I went to my local airport to finish enrollment and even that + pre check took 10 minutes so imagine how much of a breeze it’ll be from now on
How did you get that deal?
Good info! Thanks!
Glad it was helpful. We love using these in combination. Big time saver!
Something I discovered is if someone in your party does t have PreCheck yet for whatever reason if they have clear you will still go to the front of the regular line still saving potentially hours.
This is super cool. I wish my home airport had clear. TSA on Maui is really bad.
I just flew out of Maui earlier this year. We lucked out as travel wasn’t as bad at the time. I love CLEAR. Not afraid to say it. They are expanding pretty quickly. Maybe it will make its way to your airport in the future. Fingers crossed.
do you still need to go through x ray scanners if you have tsa-precheck? i see the passengers here going through it. isn't it rather metal detectors or it's up to the airport? I have to think of radiation as i will be traveling a lot more the next few years.
I have both clear & TSA pre-Check
Both are paid with credit from my
Cards
United explore TSA-pre-check
Amex-Clear both are great programs.
It’s great having both especially when they don’t cost you anything out of pocket!
Halo Brandon how are you. ? Hope you healty and prosperous. Do TSA check imigrant criminal record in US ? I mean not criminal record in their home country .. please reply if you dont mind 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻.
LAX is my home airport and you know how busy that is. So having CLEAR (and TSA PreCheck) helps out a whole lot! ESP traveling with kids. Love this video! Thanks for sharing ❤️
Using them in combination has been a life saver with kids. I’m a fan of things that cause less headache for me during travel. Love both of these programs!
Great video. Very helpful. How long would it take on a crowded day?
Great question. I travel a lot. I have yet to see any kind of wait in the Clear lanes. I walk right up to the Clear scanner every time. Once there I move straight to the front of the TSA precheck line regardless of how long that precheck line is. There have been instances where precheck lines have been pretty long during my travels, but it doesn’t matter. I go to the front immediately regardless of the line. In short, it’s the same on the busiest day as it is the slowest day. That’s the beauty of it. Makes travel much easier.
This means that with a longer layover I can get out of the airport for a bit before coming back in and not have to go through the long lines again (as long as the connecting airport also has CLEAR.)
I’m a big Clear fan. Creates more certainty in when you need to arrive at an airport. In combo with TSA precheck it’s a game changer for sure.
Is normal Clear verify a identity with someone else (family member) personal information?
I use Clear and global entry. totally worth every penny.
I agree!!!
Any of the major airports like IAD have clear
So, in terms of getting clear, do you have to get the tsa precheck as well? I'm assuming you don't have to but what happens if you don't get the TSA precheck with the clear membership? What would be different if you just got clear vs having both?
Great question. Clear gets you tot he front of the line whether it’s TSA precheck or standard security. If you only have Clear you will move to the front of the standard security line. This means you will have to remove your shoes, light jackets, and laptops/tablets from your bags. That’s the only difference. Precheck just let’s you avoid those extra conveniences. Either way you’re getting to the front of the line. Precheck or not.
better/faster than global entry? how much?
I recently got the Amex Platinum Business card. I’ll be using Clear and TSA Precheck for the first time this week on the way to St Maarten. I can’t wait!
That’s great. Please, let me know how that works for you. Would love to hear your feedback!
It saved us about an hour for as crowded at the airport was there was nobody standing in line at the TSA pre-check. I just told the clear agent. I had TSA Precheck they didn't even scan my eyes.
The service has been great feels kind of weird cutting in front of everybody got a lot of strange looks
It does feel a little weird. Almost like everyone is watching you in anger while you breeze right by. I love it. Great benefit!
I hear ya about the strange looks lol And then my son told me why everyone looking at us? I just told him, there are two types of people in this world: one who prefers the hard way and one who prefers the faster way and that is us 🤣 I mean everyone have the same opportunity to get CLEAR. Some choose not to. Not I 😆
@@KuiniMary I guess most people at the airport probably don't fly enough to warrant the purchase of these passes.
@@KuiniMary sometimes people don't prefer the hard way, but it's the only way that is available to them. Way to teach your child to be entitled. Good job
@@jaybones643 Dude, chill out - you can’t even understand the “sarcasm” but you’re one of the few who won’t get it, which is ok. And I don’t teach my kids anything about feeling “entitled” lol You know nothing about my culture and what is important when raising a family. Hope you’re doing well on your side of town. Take care buddy!
Can someone help with me? I just enrolled with CLEAR but i haven’t gotten my eyes scanned yet. Can i just get it scanned on the day of my travel? Or do i have to get it done before hand?
Do i need to get tsa pre check also if i get clear. As far as i know i dont need to even do tsa pre check becuase my government facility id serves as the same level of security clearance.
You can have one or the other or both. Clear just gets you to the front of whatever security line you go through. If you wanna avoid taking your shoes off and keeping your belongings in your bag then add precheck.
I fly out of Seattle and the lines are often horrendously long. This would make everything so much faster.
100%. Anything to make life easier I’m a fan of.
People have no idea that this mark of the beast technology not the mark yet but the technology is already here
You gotta make sure you get the trifecta = CLEAR & TSA & PRIORITY PASS (for the lounges)!
Used Clear in Miami airport left buddy behind. Thought he would have a slight delay passing through security and he ended up waiting in line one hour and a half
Crazy. You don’t realize how valuable it is until you use it. Once you have it, it’s hard to let it go. Great service too. Thanks for watching!
Not sure if this is new but you can at least now have taken your buddy on your membership to let him experience it and gotten him through.
Clear is scam and sells your info probably (in my opinion)
Has anyone ever used it at ATL? I have both and mainly fly out of PHX.
I haven’t used it there. I usually connect in ATL so haven’t had the whole experience there yet. Would be curious what it’s like.
How do I cancel
is clear available to foreigners?
I have a CLEAR trial (via online enrollment) and will go to the airport a little early to do the setup. About how long did it take the first time using CLEAR?
It’s fast. Shouldn’t be more than a couple of minutes for setup and getting thru the line.
do you have to have TSAPre to be able to get moved up to the front of the line?
Clear takes you to the front of either tsa recheck or standard security. TSA precheck typically has 5-15 minute waits so even if you don’t have clear you can get through security fairly quickly. You won’t get to the front of the line, but the line is shorter overall.
Hey I got a free trial of this for my flight tomorrow - how does this work with standard TSA? (no pre check)
Takes you straight to the front of the standard security line. If you have precheck it takes you to the front of that line.
helpful
Awesome. Glad it helped!
I looked at the video and Clear literally saved 30 seconds. She starts the Clear process at 0:36 and the last guy in line at that point is wearing a white shirt and khaki shorts so she would have been right after him. According to the timer, there's only 30 seconds from when she goes into the line (1:48) compared to when he gets his ID checked (2:19).
I fly every few weeks and the precheck lines are not generally longer than that, and usually it's waiting at security than ID check. Granted I'm flying out of a smaller airport so maybe for those constantly flying peak times out of major hubs it could be worth it. To have to scan your boarding pass, scan your eyes, get escorted, and then show your boarding pass again seems like a bigger hassle than giving the agent your ID. If you could just walk up to the front of the line and have a seamless experience that would be worth it.
For basically the price of 1 month of Clear, you get Precheck or Global Entry for the whole year. Granted Clear/TSA are all free with some credit cards but I don't really see the extra value in Clear.
In this case, yes you are correct. And that does happen sometimes. However, in cross-crossing the country I have run into several instances where I’ve been shocked at the TSA precheck lines. Just depends on your luck and where you typically fly out of. I like having both as it eliminates the risk and guesswork involved with estimating my airport arrival time. The peace of mind and time savings by knowing I can arrive shortly before my flight is enough to push it over the edge for me.
I understand your point as well. Having the reps from Clear guide you in does expedite things. It would be nice if you could just do the scans yourself and move right on through. Could be a little more user friendly. Overall, I’m a fan.
@@thebrandonboydshow I try to get there about an hour before I board so I can stop by the lounges for some free food and booze so I'm not typically pressed for time. There's been a few times that I've cut it super close and Precheck has saved me. All depends on the airport, I could see it being useful at big airports like ORD or JFK.
@@michaelc2119 Sometimes at Atlanta, the TSA pre-check is even longer than the regular security line. CLEAR has saved me many times, going straight to the front of long TSA pre-check lines.
If you fly out of JFK or a big airport even the Prechek lines can be thirty or forty minutes. I flew from JFK to MIA and got through security in five minutes while the Prechek line must have been at least thirty minutes.
Ya but what if you don’t have precheck
I just signed up for clear. Do I need both services? I’m confused
No, you don’t need both. They just work well in combination together. Clear helps you speed through the travel documentation verification process (drivers license, boarding pass, etc.). Tsa Precheck speeds you through the physical screening process (bags, coats, etc.). That’s why they work so well on combo together. You’ll enjoy Clear. Makes travel much more efficient. Thanks for watching!
I’m not sure I understand the purpose of having both. I’ve never had clear but I have had global entry and tsa pre check and with those I did the same. What is clear doing in this case?
The fact you still have to go through tsa pre check almost makes it seem twice as long? What am I missing?
Clear gets you to the front of the TSA precheck line or the regular security line. Just moves you tot he front. Lots of times the precheck line is short already, but I’ve run into several instances of them getting longer.
@@thebrandonboydshow ah okay thank you for clarifying! My card includes this benefit maybe I’ll sign up!
@@thebrandonboydshow thanks for your response, I ended up enrolling yesterday and was able to use it today. Even with the first time enrollment it took 5 minutes and I skipped the entire 15-20 minute wait line! Gonna renew my pre check too and combine them
@@incoherentturd glad it worked out for you!!!! Clear and TSA precheck so we’ll in combination together. Basically takes the guesswork out of skipping the lines and you don’t have to arrive at the airport super early. Always double check that Clear is available in the airport you’re using though. Their footprint in the industry is still growing so it’s not every quite yet!
I've never encountered a truly long line, so I guess I'm not seeing much value in the Clear service. The precheck and quick run through screening sounds a lot more useful.
Everybody has a different experience I suppose. Over the last 6-8 months I’ve seen some ridiculous precheck lines. Those lines were better than general security, but man they were long. Having the credit for this is handy. Eliminates all doubt about how early you need to arrive before a flight. If what you have is working, I wouldnt change a thing. Probably differs all over the country. Thanks for watching!
Orlando’s security lines can be excruciatingly long depending on the season for tourists and/or conventions. I have Clear and TSA Pre✔️. It’s so helpful!!!
You clearly don’t live in Chicago or a major hub?
I love this and need it why won't more people use this?
It’s a great tool for us. We travel through airports several times a year and find it very useful. Lots of people are still not aware of what it is. That’s why I made the video. In 3 minutes of video it should make total sense. I’m a visual learner myself. I was hoping that showing exactly how this works would encourage others to consider it.
Hell no it’s faster for us 😂😂😂😂
So do I have to pay for clean AND tsa pre or is tsa pre included?
Great question. They are two separate services. Two separate payments.
Thank you!
An airport might have it but its not going to be in all terminal i guess.
When i fly out in Miami sometimes, i don't really see it in terminal E which is AA but i be seeing it in terminal F where United is.
Last year, i was flying from terminal F, the precheck was way faster than the clear line. I was surprised, the clear was so long they was calling clear with precheck and all regular clear members stuck in the back. Meanwhile the precheck line was empty. Precheck line never busy. No need to have clear unless its free but i won't pay for it
This is great info. Thanks for sharing. I’m a big fan of clear. Didn’t think I would be when I initially signed up, but after utilizing it so often I really enjoy it. Sometimes it’s not needed. However, I have run into several instances where it has paid huge dividends for me. Everyone has their own experience though and this is good to hear. If you travel quite a bit I think the value is there. Also depends on how often you can actually use it depending on where you are flying from most often. Lots to consider for sure. If it’s free, I’m taking it every day of the week!
Depends on your airport/terminal. JFK Terminal 4 has two Clear lines: one Prechek and one without. It has the potential to save you a lot of time. The value proposition only makes sense when flying out of huge airports with long lines, I guess hahaha.
Did you checked in with Clear or the airline booth?
Checked in at the airline to drop off our bags. Then took boarding pass straight to Clear where they then lead us to the front of the security line.
I still like to arrive 2 o 3 hrs before just because I have AE platinum to use the lounge 😂
We do that sometimes as well. For those times when the lounges are t spectacular or you just want more time to spend on your trip before heading tot he airport, this is a great option.
Looking to get clear promo to get 10k miles with United
Clear is always running some sort of promo. They ah e one right now that offers $75 in Uber cash. Not a bad deal if it fits your needs!
I’d rather have miles good thing is Uber eats I usually get picked up at my destination
It’s 189 with clear direct plus $50 voucher or I can pay 129 Thru United
Clear is nice to have, but there are a lot of airports that don't have it
Agreed. Still has a ways to go to expand everywhere. If you do travel frequently, odds are you’ll run into an airport with CLEAR on one of your departures. It needs to be in every airport. Thanks for watching!
Is the 2 month trial a free trial?
Yes. Typically their trial period is free. Just remember to cancel if it’s not beneficial.
How can I cancel the membership on clear ?
I haven’t cancelled personally, but there are a couple of ways I know of. First, email them and let them know you want to cancel. memberservices@clearme.com . Or call them at 1-855-CLEARME
TSA pre check out of Newark Airport was awful. The ID guy was staring me down like I was a suspect. Took a few minutes with just that guy even with precheck! No wonder the line was so long and slow. Newark has a bad rep.
Do you need both
Nope. Not at all. If you have TSA precheck, you get to by pass the standard security line and have an an easier trip through the physical security. Clear gets you ok
Mediate my tot ye front of either the standard security line or the precheck line if you have precheck.
FYI, there is a new promotion going on to try for 2 months free.
Clear seems to be running lots of promos lately. I’m not complaining. Great service and it makes traveling that much easier!
I really don’t see the point of clear if you have pre check the wait to get through identity verification with pre check is alway less than 5 minutes. (And that’s at o hair) I suppose there may be some airports by the way is longer and worth it, if you don’t have pre-check, it would definitely be worth it but not worth the price to save 5 minutes
I have the Amex for this but it seems pretty useless since the pre check line is already usually 5-10 mins and you get to skip that with clear, seems like a very small benefit
Most of the time it’s not needed, but I have seen TSA precheck lines get longer and longer as more cards offer that as a benefit. If you don’t need it, don’t get it. Thanks for sharing.
@@thebrandonboydshow I will be getting it since its a benefit of the card, I'll try it out to see if its worth it
Why do you need both Precheck and Clear? I'm not following.
TSA PreCheck lets you leave your shoes, belt, and light jacket on while you go through security. You can also leave your laptop and your liquids in your bag. Makes life easier when traveling and going through security and it’s super cheap to do.
@@thebrandonboydshow thank you for responding and adding clarity
Clear skips you to the front of the Prechek line. So it depends on how busy your home airports are. JFK is always a mess so it tends to make sense there.
It’s just so expensive 😞
Definitely more money than TSA precheck. If you’ve got a discount with a credit card or rewards program then that could greatly reduce the cost. I just put out a video today detailing the programs. There’s a link on the description of that video that shows the list of available discounts. May not hurt to try that.
Why is clear $180 and global entry is $100 lol.
One of the great mysteries of the world.
Not a convincing video when there are 3 people in the normal line...
Reasonable point. The thing is, whether there’s 3 people or 300 people in the regular line (or even the long tsa precheck lines) you get to move to the front. When planning how early you need to get to airport the length of the tsa precheck line is irrelevant. Basically a fast pass for the airport. Gets you in and out regardless of the scenario. Clear in combo with the tsa precheck is a thing of beauty. I’ve seen some really awful tsa precheck lines over th least year. Luckily, I bypassed them all. Thanks for watching!
Makes sense
Check it out sometime if you have the benefit on one of your cards or if you want to pay outright. It’s very convenient if you travel frequently.
How it works in practice is that once the precheck line backs up clear's contract allows them to hold all the regular precheck people back for clear users to pass through.
That’s music to my ears.
DO NOT give a commercial company or the government (TSA) your fingerprints and NEVER scan your eyes! Huge security exposure!!!
That’s certainly a consideration. No doubt.
Nobody cares about you or your identity or information. You're just another clogg in the system and nobody would ever care to steal your information. You aren't Elon Musk dumba**.
This service makes no sense as it takes same amount of time for TSA to check ID. 😂
Just depends on the tsa precheck line. They have been getting longer and longer in some airports. This gets you to the front of the precheck line or standard tsa line immediately. Just one less thing to worry about if you don’t want to get to the airport super early for security.
Clear skips you to the front of the Prechek line. It's ridiculous if the lines are long.
What a bunch of bull. People are such sheep. Pay someone to keep your bio metrics information, what could go wrong.
You know, that’s not a bad opinion. My assumption is my entire history and sensitive info is already out there so I just look for convenience at this point. Don’t know if that’s good or not, but that’s where I am. Totally get where you’re coming from.
Yeah, not like we used FACE ID or fingerprints to unlock our phones (Apple, Google). Or get our fingerprints at the DMV or anything.
Lies
Which part?
Another scam
Please expand. Not disagreeing. Just wondering more on your thoughts. Thanks.
Ypu probably get payed to say this. I have clear and is not this easy ,you just lucky there was no line because usually with clear there’s a line right after they scan your eyes and you need to take off your Shoes by the way !!
With tsa precheck and clear I haven’t had to remove my shoes. Maybe we’ve been lucky and haven’t hit any major lines. I have see tsa precheck lines that are ridiculously long. Having Clear helps cut to the front of that at least. We travel pretty frequently. So far so good.
On a side note, I wish I was getting paid, but I’m not. I use referral links for cards that do pay a small amount. However, I’ve also made videos showing the negatives of those exact cards. The Platinum being the latest one. All I can do is call balls and strikes. If I was getting paid, I wouldn’t morally come on here and tell you everything is rosy. Just not my nature. Always try to keep it real with everyone. I figure that pays off on the end.
Hope you have some better luck with Clear in the future. Just for my reference, where do you see this issue most often? Which airport? If I run through that area I’ll check and see if I run into a similar issue. Might help others as well. Thanks for your input and thanks for watching!
@@thebrandonboydshow i dont know where you traveled from or to ? But you skip the first line thats all about it !! I flew from Newark airport to San Francisco last week and on the way back from San Francisco the Clear line was bigger than the regular line which was crazy . I dont know maybe everybody getting clear :/
@@ItsAdrian20 I think that's because sometimes it offered the clear for free like a trial service hoping people would sign up for it at least they did that are Airport but knock on wood so far I've had no problem with it

Ya but what if you don’t have precheck
Great question. If you don’t have precheck then instead of going to the front of the precheck line you would go to the front of the general security line. Precheck just makes it easier to get through the physical screen because you don’t have to remove your shoes, electronics, etc.
