I'm glad Tim shows enough strength to not bring personal subjects onto the show. Good that Gregg keeps moving the show along. Great chemistry between these two!
"Serial killers are not funny business. That's definitely a segment of society that should be eliminated." About time someone took a stand on this issue.
Looking back at this now, I think this is what marked the beginning of the end for On Cinema. Tim is just unable to separate his personal issues from his work whereas Gregg is a consummate professional who is 100% dedicated to making an excellent, insightful show about movies. Hopefully Tim will learn from his mistakes and Gregg will return to turn this #OffCinema back #On!
Gregg is TRYING to throw Tim under the bus, and he's been trying since day 1. I know it's been a rough couple of years, but come on Tim, you need to wake up and see just how far Gregg's tentacles have literally reached. #timetotakeitback
Gregg has always been a "me first" jag off who never once has shown Tim the respect he deserves. He meddled in Tim's love life but never once tried to comfort him during all the health issues Tim went through. This is one of at least 12 things that makes Gregg not only a terrible cohost but a terrible person.
+Carissa Pearling I like your pseudo-intelligent conversation with Jack and John. Keep it up. Maybe you consider to have a three-s0me treat ? That would be nice

Such a treat to see these two titans of film review in their early years; you can see the ideas that would grow into such a formidable body of critical work later on, as well as the clashing personalities that would go on to define their most harrowing (but, arguably, most productive) years. Truly a Lennon/McCartney-esque partnership.
Tim seemed upset about something, like maybe his mind was elsewhere during this episode. Gregg managed to pull it together and give great advice/reviews but I just worry about Tim sometimes...
Before there was Joe Estevez and Ayaka and John Aprea and Mark Proksh and Axiom and Manuel and Dr San and Tom Cruise Jr and Decker and Dekkar and DKR and James Dean...
Shows what a supposedly good friend Greg is. Tim is breaking down and Greg just sits there doing nothing. I guess it's not that surprising though because Gregheads aren't known for their humanity.
It's so funny seeing the first "personal issues" bit come up this early in the show. Imagine seeing this in 2013 and thinking oh that's kinda funny. And now seeing how insanely and preposterously far they've taken that bit in the show.
3:55 Pretending to cry to hide the laughter? Tim did a similar thing in the first Oscar Special where he pretended to have a finger injury, I suppose to have an excuse to pretend to cry whenever he broke out into uncontrollable laughter.
As a drocter, I took the liberty of assessing what exactly makes a Tranghead and a Gorghead, check itout: Phase 1: 10-20 episodes in; You are curious because you know Tim Heidecker is funny, but you’ve never seen him outside of Tim & Eric before. You also have no idea who this unsightly Gregg character is. You start to pick and choose throughout the seasons of episodes where they review some of your favorite films that you know. You skip the ones you don’t know because why would anyone want to watch a review of something they don’t care about. Phase 2: 20-40 episodes in; You’ve settled into the format and start to become comfortable with Gregg. The episodes so far have been funny, but not laugh out loud shit your pants funny. You continue watching because now you’ve realized it’s a quick and enjoyable way to kill 5-10 minutes. Plus you love movies. Phase 3: 40-60 episodes in; Alright, now the show is starting to get funnier and funnier by the minute. You have seen enough now to start to pick up on all the subtle recurring jokes that weren’t funny back in Phase One. You aren’t a total Gregghead or Timhead yet, but you’re getting there. You’ve started to realize that every single idea Tim has is destined to get someone hurt or killed. You might be ready to watch the full highlights of “The Trial”, but if not definitely will be in the next phase. Phase 4: 60-80 episodes in; You suddenly burst in a fit of giggles at the slightest things these people say. From “Hey Guys” to Tim’s name mispronunciations, this show is becoming the best thing to ever happen to you. You are now mentally dedicated to finishing the entire 110 episode series and then some. You might have even gone back and rewatched a few just to fill yourself in on the storyline. Chances are, you’ve randomly selected an episode where Tim is maimed or beaten beyond words and you want to go back and see the slow progression of what got him there. Also, by this phase, you HATE Dr. San. Phase 5: 80-100 episodes in; You have subconsciously begun rating almost everything you see in life on the “5 Bags of Popcorn” scale, even things that don’t have to do with cinema. For myself in this phase, I began rating cars and houses I’d see as “5 Bags of Popcorn” if I really liked them. It just happened automatically. You may be reading this in Phase One and think “that will never happen to me”, but don’t kid yourself, accept it. Depression of the realization that you will soon be out of fresh, never before seen episodes starts to haunt you. You try to stop as to leave some for the future, but you eagerly devour them daily until the final phase sets in. Final Phase: All 110 episodes viewed; Prayers for a full 12th season begin to run through your mind. Memories of all the times Tim yelled or Gregg did a popcorn classic spring into your mind throughout the day to give you a hearty chuckle. The 1,000+ inside jokes are now easy to spot. You are a total Gregghead or Timhead and you feel absolutely included in the On Cinema At The Cinema family. You can’t think of the films Star Trek IV or Oh God! without splitting a side. You develop your own personal “favorite running gag” to comment on or discuss with others in the “family”. Mine being how every episode spans from 5-15 minutes long yet they are ALWAYS concerned about “if they have enough time left” for Gregg’s segments when there is clearly no time limit at all. Welcome to the family! FORYOURHEALGTH!
At 5:00 you can hear someone in the crew one of the cameramen or it kind of sounds like it could be Eric but you can hear someone let out a laugh as the set dims and Tim is still crying lmao
Ah man, it must have been so hard for tim not to crack up on "hey guys...." he went the whole episode and had to fake cry because only then he could laugh.
It looked to me like Tim broke and was trying to hide his laughing more so than crying. His voice shook earlier in the video like most people's do when they're holding in a laugh.
Gregg was so disrespectful of Tim, taking over the show and stepping on Tims cues like that. No wonder Tim was exasperated working with someone so unprofesssional. 0 bags for Greggs performance

congrats to gregg for keeping it together. The On CInema family has been through a lot and hopefully Tim can pull through this. Also, I think Gregg was right not to add any treats to his 4 popcorns, it would have been too much so I think that was fair to the film.
I'm glad Tim shows enough strength to not bring personal subjects onto the show. Good that Gregg keeps moving the show along. Great chemistry between these two!
Scary Debbie same! Looks to be a good series for sure so far :)
Greg should be on more. Definitely one of the better guests
I have to say, you can really tell just how well they get on in real life just from this.
I'm sure his aversion to his personal life being spotlighted on the show will carry forward for years. He really is a man without flaws!

Typical liberal anti serial killer propaganda.
skootdiggity Make serial killing illegal!
Legalize homicide!
Watching this episode is eerily ironic right now...
And he totally gave away the end of the movie. Fuckin' Gregg..
The refreshing thing about these earlier shows is how they focus exclusively on the movies, not Tim's personal issues.
Shut up

LOL, I agree. That was the third episode, and the show was clearly already doomed.

Yeah. Tim is Paul (nice guy, good heart, everybody likes) and Gregg is John (arrogant, cynical elitist hothead)
Right. Like the original McCartney.
