I agree with your 5/10, there was just a bunch of clutter happening at once in this episode, and kilowattrel's evolution seems forced, especially since it was absent for almost an entire season
I don't see how they could've made this an entire episode just focused on wattrel's struggle to flight higher though. They stated that wattrel had been training in secret, so even more training wasn't the solution. I think the whole point was that the problem that wattrel had was more of a mental issue. Which is shown by how jealous wattrel got after seeing Fuecoco's own progress and by Ryme's words about how fear is the thing that stops others from getting stronger. Which is literally what happened in this episode. Wattrel overcame his fear and got stronger.
Definitely just like with Brassius, this ep is for sure foreshadowing Ryme will be Roy's next test, And perhaps will be when Fuecoco evolves with the interest Ryme saw in him (plus loved how Liko & Roy are with phone recordings!!!!). And I can't believe that the mysterious & terrifying pokemon Ryme mentioned (and the hint she gave in saying "kono yo o saru" ~ to leave this world/not of this world) was to lead up to Next Ep of the Unworldly was to mean Annihilape!!! I guess there's nothing more unworldly than Ghosts!!!! (and what more so than the type of Rageful Ghost-Wraith that wants to aggressively punch you into the afterlife than Annihilape)
Completely agreed. Wattrel evolving didn't really feel earned. It barely had any screen time since it was caught, let alone any battle or training time. Hopefully now that it's evolved, it will have more screen time and actually be useful in battle.
Man, I thought Roy was going to catch Capsakid in this episode since it seemed to fit Roy's personality and the fact that he likes spicy food, but he just didn't for some reason. I felt the feeling that it was one of those episodes, like with May and Swablu in AG and Lana and Dewpider in SM, where they bonded with Pokémon, that we've been great for their team, but just didn't catch them. Maybe Ray can catch Capsakid in a future episode, but for now, it feels like a missed opportunity.
Totally agree, it was an enjoyable episode but definitely a bit all over the place. I don't really understand what the point of having that Capsakid take up more screentime than Wattrel, it feels like they were building up a friendship between Roy and Capsakid as if he was gonna catch it at the end of the episode, but nope, Wattrel has an unearned evolution and Capsakid just runs off, and i know for sure we're never seeing it again lol. I'm just kind of personally salty because i've wanted Roy to get a Capsakid/Scovillain for so long, since literally before the series even started airing, and we got so close!! but gripes aside, i did enjoy the episode, way way more than last week's snoozefest, and i am glad we have Kilowattrel on the main cast now. So a 7/10 from me.

I am also giving it a 8/10, I wholeheartedly agree that Wattrel’s evolution felt unearned due to the lack of screentime and development prior to its evolution. And I am also having the issue with Liko’s Hatenna with lack of development, screentime and battle experience. Although, I do love the evolution moment despite being unearned and definitely want way more development and screen from Kilowattrel as well because its a cool Pokemon.
I feel Roy catching capsakid (I was originally gonna say for it to join the ship as one of its Pokemon then I remembered the ship is not doing too good right now) and a payoff of wattrel learning to fly with the strong winds would’ve been a more satisfying payoff and then set up a future wattrel episode where it then evolved That may be just me but that’s my stance of wattrel evolving because wattrel hasn’t had enough screen time in general, not even just this episode to make me feel like it evolving was well earned
i think this evolution was like ash' s sligoo less training and screen time and evolved forcefully and want to see kilowattrel in more action it also not have any known moves
I will give it 9 Kilowattrels out of 10. It was the 3rd Kaiden episode in the series and was genuinely great. The little bird was lacking focus but when it came, it was for evolution. I literally didn't see the evolution coming, like I saw it in the preview, but still was unable to accept it. Ryme also had her debut, and it was great seeing her rap. Roy and Fuecoco were influenced by her and her brief interaction with Fuecoco could be foreshadowing her role in his development. Capsakid was also fun to see. This brief arc on them making reports is fun to see. Also, the typical Horizons nature of having each episode lead to other, we know what the unworldly is going to be.. Ryme has her role in revealing it to Roy, maybe she will be in the next episode also...
This episode is great overall! They did Ryme and her rapping pretty well! I also loved how Roy, Fuecoco, and Wattrel help Capsakid. My favorite part of this episode is when Wattrel evolves into Kilowaterel and saves Roy just in time! I was right about Wattrel evolving all along! Roy didn't catch Capsakid, but I'm glad Wattrel got some development before evolving. He has a big bird to fly with now! as a person who kinda prefers wattrel i was a little mad when it evolved not cuz i hated it i knew the anime would do a good job at making me like it. Its just homeboy battled like twice and only showed up in 3 other brief moments outside the capture episode (im sure its more then that but you get the point) let's ignore the fact Fuecoco got pretty good moves and did pretty okay against an injured Rayquaza and make evolve the one who did practically nothing
I wish that Annilape belonged to Ash and evolved from his Primeape would have been a cool way for Ash to return. Also Greavard is just the cutest guy, he’s just so adorable 🥰 and Kilowattrel is so huge 😮 It’s a bit disappointing Roy didn’t catch that capsakid they seemed to get along very well… 7/10 for me
The only room that watterl need to accomplish is the ability to fly higher and longer, it already have lot of fighting experience in ealier episode where it train with cap twice and fighting spinel pokemon, no wonder why the writter dont show watterl until episode 44 because of what i said above, we dont even know what roy and watterl do in episode 51
I was one of those who was doubtful that Wattrel will evolve (and I honestly don't want to) but I enjoy the episode nonetheless although it was really unearned (it evolved before Fuecoco) . Since I had that expectation, I thought that Roy will catch Capsaiji (IDK English name), it fits perfectly in the team! I do hope it will come back and be caught by Roy.
I’m finally caught up for this week’s episode. Honestly this episode frustrated me. Wattrel got like no screen time or love from Roy and now it evolves. It so frustrating when a trainer don’t give equal amount of love to their Pokemon. Like Dot and Liko have their Pokemon out a lot and interact with them but with Roy he kinda only hangs out with Fuecoco.

I'm gonna give this ep an 8/10.
