how many poppys do you give this episode out of 10?
8.5 because of losing despite being a powerful toddler. Poppy needs more action and see more of her Pokemon. Overall, she’s adorable.

It hurts to see so much of it. When I think of Glalie overall I think of Ash's Jolly Jokester Glalie..... now all I can picture now currently is it blowing up in my face!!!!!!!

The .5 is for the extra stuff I appreciated like Larry's reaction to Coral's insanity being ON brand. Lmao. And also how Dot handled the victory. I like that even she feels underwhelmed even those they won because she felt like she was being HARD carried by Iono.
I feel ya on that sometimes, Dot.

Ngl though I wish they paired him up with serious contenders like Amethio 😂

Larry's line goes so hard and fits him so well.
To be fair, copperajah may look bulky, but it actually has really low Def and SpDef for a final evo. It's whole bulk comes basically just from it's HP. And Copperajah was also the pokemon in Poppy's team that kept taking most damage from Dot and Iono, so it makes sense why he got knocked out by the super effective attack of Iono's Bellibolt, which was boosted by its ability thanks to Dot. Not to mention that these weren't really official battles, so I doubt the elite four members are going all out.
By the way, I think this this the first time in years that we see shrinked pokeballs in the anime. Also Liko, Roy and Dot's dopplegangers appearing in the background of this episode was pretty fun.
I loved this episode. It had some flaws, but those could be ignored, I guess, looking at how much trouble it would have been, to maintain the pacing while having four battles in the same episode. Poppy was adorable, even in the anime... Dot and Roy made an efficient use of what they learnt in the Basics test. Dot proved it again that she is the character with the best development in the entire series, willing to train harder and give a tough time in the battles to others herself without anyone's support.. Brassius found a new spot to jump from, Sango's impulsiveness will never end and the döppelgangers being here makes me wonder what role they will have further in the story? I loved the scene where Onyx said that he didn't want a disgraceful battle, and no one understood, not even Tulip, who is portrayed as someone who could read auras. I think he referred to how Sango's battle ended..

In Tulip's point of view, she may not understand Onyx, but she gets him as to why he is: Onyx chose to stick with his "aesthetic." In which his way from my perspective: Onyx is a Soldier-Warrior. He wasn't going to sacrifice/let Tulip (his tag partner/backup~subordinate) be defeated so he & Garganacl took the hit for her which made them lose. If Onyx hadn't, he'd feel like it'd be disgraceful to him. He really is a Soldier with a Warrior's Honor & Pride. He might be my favorite Explorer
I'm pretty sure the lookalikes were only there for continuity since they said they were also taking the Tera test.

Poppy is sure adorable 🥰 and powerful. Just wanted to see more of her strength despite that loss.
Other than Sandstorm, one of Poppy’s Pokemon should learn Rain Dance like creating weather advantages like Raihan. Even owning a Duraludon or Archaludon.
Fun episode overall involving the Elite Four in action. Makes me want to see more of them in action including others from different regions who never appeared in anime.

Yeah. Or even Bronzong, Hisuian Goodra, Aggron, or Bastiodon.

She might learn the weather tactics from Raihan for her Steel type Pokemon. Maybe she should own an Archaludon over Bastiodon. Bastiodon can use Avalanche.

In Dot's battle, I thought it wasn't that bad & it made sense how the battle played out: most of Dot's team took damage from only Sandstorm, Rock Smash, Brick Break, & Rock Slide (1st half of those moves do deal too much damage) & with Bellibolt kind of a tank, it made sense it was able to tough through & use Quaxly-charged Zap Cannon to Copperajah, Who Was the main one of Poppy's pokemon that kept taking all the damage (albeit overall it was mainly Iono's win than Dot's). For Roy's battle, it really was one-sided as most of it ended up with him powering up Baxcalibur to Glaive Rush a Double KO.
- As for Sango's, it was declared that she Lost her battle as the rule was the 1st pokemon knocked out either side loses, and Glalie knocked itself out First with Self-Destruct to knock out everyone else.
- Onyx I sorta get why he lost: Onyx is a Soldier-Warrior. He wasn't going to sacrifice/let Tulip (his tag partner/backup~subordinate) be defeated so he & Garganacl took the hit for her which made them lose. If Onyx hadn't, he'd feel like it'd be disgraceful to him. He really is a Soldier with a Warrior's Honor & Pride. He might be my favorite Explorer

{Floragato & Lokix VS Clodsire & Dugtrio} that beating Rika's Ace Clodsire would indeed be something if Liko could beat it, but if not beating Dugtrio on the other hand might be possible (to be honest, I would've thought Rika would have chosen to fight with her Closire be either Donphan [to make up for Clodsire's slow mobility]) or Camerupt [being part Fire would Really Challenge both Liko & Katy]
Tbh two of them at least should of lose, and in my opinion dot should have lost too it’s making poppy seem weak as an elite 4…
Then again, there’s no way they build chilli & Liko up and have chilli in a winning streak only for him to lose against Liko… I mean surely he beats Liko 😅😮
@@thatgirl9532 Since we know that all the challengers have to do is beat 1 of the 2 E4 pokemon for the match to be over & decide the winner; that might be the decider. If Liko could somehow pull off beating Rika's Ace in Clodsire (esp. Tera Clodsire), that would be so huge!!! But if she can't that's understandable; However if she could beat Rika's Dugtrio on the other hand, that sounds more possibly plausible. It would be under the same pretense of what happened with Poppy's battle when her Copperajah went down (which honestly made sense if you think about it with Copperajah not being very defensively bulky)
@@MarcusMapua That’s true. I think she definitely can eliminate Dugtrio with Kaede on hand but like I said I would be shocked if Rika loses, since she’s been sending shade as they seem to be rivals. I just hope the battle is done well.
@@thatgirl9532 Rika did seem to have some interest in Liko when she first met her & then when watching her battle Ann. Perhaps Rika sees something in her; since Rika is The Assessor, she might have picked up on something about Liko that she thinks is compelling
@@MarcusMapua There’s definitely a rivalry there, Anne maybe her main rival but Chilli too.
Also we gotta mention Amethio I don’t think he is a rival of Liko’s but more so Friede’s but there’s definitely some connection between Liko and Amethio…

I’m not the only one who thought Poppy was a literal toddler in Scarlet & Violet. Like I seriously thought Poppy was like 4 or 5 years old. I mean a friking toddler as an Elite 4 member?!
The game says she’s 9, but this girl’s appearance and character proves she’s no order than 4 or 5. She reminds us of Anya from Spy X Family.
She definitely acts like a baby and it’s adorable 😂
Perhaps theres no rules of 10 years old rules in paldea, I mean seriouslt, outside kanto and johto, you see so many trainer who is less than 10 yo
@@efcoolstar3849 Eh, trainer models can be deceiving. I remember that the Battle Tree in USUM had one NPC that had an adult Beauty' model/art, but revealed that she was actually a little kid who had... I think it was her mom do makeup for her(?).
So if the game says she's 9, I'll believe that over judging her by her model (even if I thought she was younger, too).
Appearances can be deceiving.
Oh yeah! The battles were great, lot of back and forth with Poppy taking an L pretty easily but I'm glad it was done by Iono and not Dot so that saves the battle imo. Roy's battle was so great, he and Brassius were very much like father and son, Hassel did not disappoint and that's exactly what I like!
I'm gonna give this episode a 7/10!
My boy Copperajah got some decent screentime so 10/10
Jokes aside, 7/10 from me, solid stuff. It felt like so many characters were in this episode and idk if that's a good thing or not, hahaha. Anyway looking forward to Liko and Katy vs Rika next week, and i'm hoping we'll get Ann and Grusha vs Larry to complete it all
Again, I don't have much to say, but I would like to mention a few things about this episode, like the scene where Coral got really mad after her and Kofu's battle with Larry, and then just fleeing, which is absolutely hilarious. Poppy is pretty cool, too. In fact... SHE'S SO ADORABLE!!!! 😍
Dot and Iono and Roy and Brassius working together we're amazing! I'm also glad Poppy's advice helped Dot's confidence grow. 🤗
Overall, this episode was pretty amazing, and I'm super excited for Liko and Katy vs. Rika next!
My rating: 8/10 💙👍🤩
P.S. We could expect some "Dot and Penny looking for Terapagos" shenanigans in next week's episode here in there. 😂
1:25 its brick break, but yeah she use gigaton hammer when trying to attack quaxly and belibolt and they dodge it
8/10 is the lowest rating for me.
I am disappointed with some fans who are dreading again Poppy's battle, forgetting that these were special guest battles, for fun and not for the title so it would be understandable if one member or two are holding back their full potential.
and besides. Bellibot's Attack was powered up drastically and Copperajah is commonly known for its POOR Sp Def coverage overall so it make sense to have difficulty surviving Powered-up or Boosted Sp Atks. Elite Four Trainers are not unbeatable guys and gals, at least that's what it sound like coming from most of the fans
This episode was good but not amazing, personally I just expected dot/iono to lose against Poppy or at least give a better fight.. Roy/ Brassius battle against Hassel was pretty good they did well (also I love ice & dragon type Pokémon) … so makes me think that Poppy is a weak elite 4 which isn’t okay…
Onto next week, they better make Chilli powerful and prove he’s quite strong… there’s no way another upset is on the cards 😮
they did say from Rika saying she's on a winning streak after Onyx's match was over
@@MarcusMapua I know that I watched the episode but I hope that she doesn’t lose because she talks the talk and I mean Liko seems like weakest out of the trio so if Liko does manage to beat Rika I just hope the battle is done very well!

@@thatgirl9532 Well Rika seems she's not going to make it easy on her with her powerful strikes on Floragato going from Clodsire going in with Mud Shot, Sludge Wave, & Poison Jab.
And yes indeed Rika is a girl; she just acts very tomboyish (so tomboyish that I have seen a lot of others think the same as you did)
@@MarcusMapua I mean you never know with the writers, like I SAID if Liko does win, they better make the battle really good but if it’s a bad battle & Liko easily wins then that’s a bad look for Chilli… and for the fans
I want Liko to win but putting out her absolute best with Floragato… if it’s the opposite result I want Chilli to look bad ass… and like I’ve said you talk the talk, you gotta walk the walk so I hope the writers do this battle JUSTICE!

I wouldnt feel too bad for Poppy, it took two trainers to beat her, and she is younger than Dot and Iono, so she can only grow from here.
