I love how positive some artists are. They can admit their mistakes, their weaknesses, their inabilities. I think that's also a problem with some young artists, cuz they feel like they can never draw something good so they never actually try to improve on it
I’m actually young and I wish I thought my art was good but the only thing I think of when I draw is “No! The head is uneven! The chin! The eye!! Ugh look at the hair!! Woww the breast looks super weird😖, my leg looks messed up!! The outfit looks really bad!!” That’s all I think of.. my stupid mistakes XD and then I frustrate!!
Everytime I try to draw a male body with no reference, they always end up looking so feminine! Drawing girls have been so innate to me that if I don't think about it, I'll just end up drawing girls. My sketchbook is probably 90% girls with only 10% being my *attempts* at drawing the male gender.
Here’s a tip for EVERYONE, not just artists. Saying you “cannot” draw something is factually false. You ARE able to draw everything, it’s just that some people have practiced far more than others, which leads to it looking more accurate. Saying you “can’t draw something” is very very false, and is very much rude when saying that to someone who’s been drawing for a long time. Why is it rude? Because it seems like you’re trying to get the person you’re talking to to pity you, and it leads to an awkward situation for the person you tell this. Instead of saying you “can’t draw” something, PRACTICE. 👏
Vim Vandalism ikr I agree I work very hard on my art and it has its flaws but I’m getting there!! Plus it’s only been like 2 years of since I got my first serious sketchbook I’ve always loved art just now am I getting really dedicated drawing at least 2 hours a day.
I ACTUALLY can't draw faces or people, I can draw things I see and paint too tho! I'd practice faces and bodies 1000 times and it never works so I don't draw them. I see what your saying though
Here's the tip list in case you didn't catch it! 1. Quick sketches 2. Draw new things/what needs practice 3. Try new mediums and mix it up 4. LiNeArT 5. Backgrounds
Finds some drawing prompts online, or write a bunch of your own out on little pieces of paper. When you don't know what to draw pull one out of whatever container you have them in. Set a time limit and go!
With drawing male characters, I always either make the jawline so soft that he looks too feminine, or so harsh that he looks like a block of wood or something I’ve been getting better though!
I have my own tip that my dad often tells me: if you can master drawing realistic hands (including coloring them) then usually you can understand to draw a lot more. With all the creases and shadows in the hands if you master that than you can understand shadows with everything else. Just a tip. Plus hands are hard so if you learn how to perfect them it’s just impressive as it is. That’s my opinion, and it’s something I’m working on.
Fun things to do: -The next time you feel like you're stuck on a drawing, leave it alone. Don't force yourself to finish it. Forget about it for a while, and one day, when you're flipping through your sketchbook and you finally have a clear idea where you want to go, finish it. -Listen to a playlist you've never heard before and do a quick sketch of the first image that pops into your mind during each song. Once the song is over, you can't change any fundamental aspects of the drawing. -Ask someone for a noun and draw it without looking for references. It's more fun if you don't really know what it looks like so you have to draw it based on that someone's description
You: spends hours on one sketch Me: spends hours thinking what to draw Edit: oh my god! I’ve never gotten this much like before! Let me cry for a sec. 🤧 ok I’m done. While I’m at it, does anyone have any tips in drawing hands? Please, I really need help. Like all hands I draw are deformed. 😩
dweeb Don’t stick with cartoony if you’re doing it JUST because you think it’s the only thing you’re good at. I made this mistake when i was younger, I walways wanted to try drawing backgrounds but I never did it! I thought it was too difficult and looked too ugly. This year I went crazy with backgrounds, and I LOVED IT! It wasn’t perfect, it was pretty ugly but i felt the joy of expressing myself better. Try drawing realism if you want, just go for it!
I personally think that the best thing to do is just practice your realism regularly but still stick with the cartoon style until your comfortable drawing realism.
If you're really into realism and don't want to quit, then continue practicing realism, but if you feel kinda bored and see drawing realistic things seem like a chore, then you may not like realism that much. But when it comes back to it, you're the one who decides
Me too! But recently i’m searching for drawing reference poses so i can atleast draw/sketch the hand in a different position (even without the detail lol)
I just wanted to let you know that you’re actually one of my top 2 favorite youtube artists. I think the main reason for that (other than your wonderful art) is that you’re actually really friendly and just provide great tips while sounding like it’s so fun. I actually feel compelled to work more on my art after watching and listening to your videos. I actually feel okay with the fact that my art will take time to improve. The 10,000 hour rule is still intimidating, but it feels worth a try. So thank you very much for uploading and stuff. It means a lot.
Thank you for taking the time to write this comment 😊 It's comments like these that make me the happiest. I really hope you do keep on drawing and not give up. It does get better as the days go by! Good luck and have fun 💞

Thank you! :) I share a lot of my stuff on my Instagram and Instagram stories. I will also post never before seen sketches / real-time videos on my Patreon (brand new).
I do have instagram, but when I click on an instagram link, it opens instagram ofc, but it doesn't login so I can look on instagram without login in. Maybe you can do that, but idk if it always works
I do something called inspiration pages in my scetchbook, mostly because when I go to draw something (I do all of my art digitally) I can never think of something. For Inspo pages I’ll set a timer for five minutes and then draw everything that comes to mind on the page. Then I look at it and maybe re-sketch some of the ideas or elaborate on them a little bit. If I need an idea, weather it be for drawing or another sketch. I turn to these pages. Other than that: Great video! Great advice! Thank you!
PLEASE NO SEXIST COMMENTS!!! i personally think girls find it easier to draw girls, and boys find it easier to draw boys.... thats just my opinion... please no hate ;-;
i can see how good you can draw man 👌 i love your style , i think i'll use timer for like 10 min and try draw fast because i take forever to finish one page
Wow! I'm really impressed with what i have seen, those tips really work! i didn't tried yet, but i'm drawing every day and painting, me and everyone we all can see that i'm improvement, i see that, i strongly belive in your tips and i'm going to test in my free time or i'll create some time. Thanks a lot! This is really helpfull!
I think what you said about practicing line art is very usefull, because even if you don't do lineart on your drawings it has a lot of benefits to practice it, your arm isn't that shaky after a while and you are much more confident with your drawing and don't grab eraser every 5 sec
i just got into drawing a few weeks ago and my mom got me a sketch book and a pencil (for drawing/sketching) and i really hope i find my style and get better at drawing/sketching.
honestly, there is no way to really "find your style" . Just keeps drawing and experiment and eventually you will realise that you draw things a certain way and that your style! :)
The foils add so much pop to your sketchbooks, I love it. I think of all the tips, I would want to try the "mix your mediums up" the most but its can be so costly sometimes! I think I like digital art because most of prices are a one time fix (or maybe annually for the programs themselves) but then you can just create and be done with it.
It’s impossible for me to do “quick sketches” 😂 I just like my drawings to be just so🤷♀️ I’m only 13 tho, so I hope I’ll improve with my drawings so I won’t have 2 worry about getting them perfect😂😩💞
Tesni Madoc this is the first time commenting on someones post but it will get better. My art at 13 was pretty good/okay. Even though that was part of my experimental age of watercolor, graphites, and acrylics I still did pretty okay. Almost 8 years later and the drawings I did back then I can finish in 5-8 hours while before they would take me 15 hours to complete. Just keep practicing and never straying from learning new techniques. Im always willing to help you if needed.
you are an art god to me. i personally really love to draw and i wanna become an artist. i looked at your drawings and i truly admire them ALOT. you have such talent that i will take alot of time to gain with practicing andi might not even get as good as you...thats not the point. the point is that i really admire your drawing skills and wasso amazed to see your quick sketches look really good.i was just SO amazed
I have the opposite problem...when I draw I get impatient and want to be done quicker so I end op rushing and it turns out bad anD I dOnT KnOw wHaT tO dO
laialy Perhaps try the opposite? Start a sketch and set a timer for like 1/2 an hour and then don't put it down until that time is up? Forces you to focus on one thing for a while.
Why don't you try the opposite? Set a timer in your phone for, i don't know, 30 minutes(??) and just relax and draw!! It's ok if you get distracted in the process, the important thing is to learn to be less anxious about your time and having fun in the process! :)
You can always try white charcoal pencils on colored paper. Start with a simple still life on some black paper. It works as a building agent and it forces you to slow down when using them. Tip don't try to bend and when erasing go in slow circular motions. Then when doing the shadow of the object go around the shadow of the object instead of coloring in the shadow. This makes it look like the table is being aluminated. The colored paper is your darkest value so you use that as your shadow color. Ways to make it more challenging is using colors closer to the white scale for your paper (obviously not white) and getting more challenging objects.
This helped so much and like you stated about the problems you might have while drawing, was really holding me back.Thank you so much. You really helped!
an other tip: print out some other artist’s sketch, make it almost transparent, take a black pencil and practice your line art while turning the drawing in something more your style
thank you i've been trying to improve on my art for about 5 years and with this is helping me ponder on this and I will definetly try each of these out
To be honest, hair was one of my struggles, and after a month, I have gotten so much better. So the thing is, focus on one thing you wanna improve on. It could be eyes, hair, ears, hands, feet, etc. Let's say you draw faces. And you noticed that the eyes don't look as good. Then focus on that. I don't know if it'll work for you, but it did for me. So what I'll be trying next will probably be the hands.
You are the artist I am becoming, only you have mastered a beauty that I’m still working toward. We have similar taste. I’ve been learning from Sylvie Mahdol for realistic pencil work while “trying” to be influenced toward mixed media and colors. You are the perfect influence for me. I’m doing art all day, everyday. Thank you for your teaching!! Can’t wait to watch all your videos. I’m averaging 20+ sketches per day and some take 4 hours. Others only 3 minutes including the watercolor. I’m watercoloring and painting in graphite. I also use Copic markers and ink. Thanks!

PLEASE NO SEXIST COMMENTS!!!
i personally think girls find it easier to draw girls, and boys find it easier to draw boys.... thats just my opinion... please no hate ;-;
xox Binki xox tbh I kinda agree
Yes. I love drawing girl more than boy😂
i'm better at drawing men but tbh 9/10 of my drawings are of men hahah
Im girl and I draw men most of the time so,, It's all about practice and studies
Im dissapointed
i think the men look quite cute
saucytemii same
Your art pieces look like magazine covers! I’m in love with your style ~
i can see how good you can draw man 👌 i love your style , i think i'll use timer for like 10 min and try draw fast because i take forever to finish one page
Your art has improved sooooo much I’m so excited for your channel this year 😍
Thank you! :)
I think those 3 people who hit the dislike button were so astonished when they blacked out, they hit their head on it. 😄😄😄
Pichu Blossom 😂😂😂😂 hahaha!ur humor is awesome.

Your pfp: is that coco?
I really like your style
me: opens sketchbook
also me: scrolls for a ref I wanna draw forever and never touches sketchbook
i just got into drawing a few weeks ago and my mom got me a sketch book and a pencil (for drawing/sketching) and i really hope i find my style and get better at drawing/sketching.
Your so good at drawing! I wanna try to find my style do you have a video about that?
honestly, there is no way to really "find your style" . Just keeps drawing and experiment and eventually you will realise that you draw things a certain way and that your style! :)
This channel is so cool! Cute name, and your art style is everything I aspire to be!
Thanks!

Love the time limit tip! It's a great way to get your hand moving without worrying too much.

I have a question have you ever traced because I used to trace things and it helped me and now I can draw pretty well
The foils add so much pop to your sketchbooks, I love it.
My problem is that i cant work 2h on one piece i get bored, and the drawing turns out kinda unfinished
Im 13 and i feel you😧
The way you draw men is amazing! Don't be hard on yourself! Seriously ur great! Have a good day!❤️❤️😀
you are an art god to me. i personally really love to draw and i wanna become an artist. i looked at your drawings and i truly admire them ALOT. you have such talent that i will take alot of time to gain with practicing andi might not even get as good as you...thats not the point. the point is that i really admire your drawing skills and wasso amazed to see your quick sketches look really good.i was just SO amazed
I'm at a point where I like drawing hands, I'm thinking of putting together a series of hand drawings actually.
Would be cool! I love how hands can have so much expression
Brushes and Bunnies agreed. I was trying to think up a theme last night. I have a mess of ideas to experiment with.
Shades Of Kin DO IT SO I CAN WATCH
Rawan Hadi lol, I'll think about that, though I don't upload to RUclips at the moment, I hadn't ever considered it
Shades Of Kin oh! Well if you do upload I'll be glad to watch.
" don't forget about your line aaart "
Omygod u're the cutest
I recently started drawing backgrounds in my drawings. It gives more context & interest, that I hadn't thought of before.
The men look good! I love your style
This always helped me slow down when drawing.
That happens to me in the end of my drawing
This helped so much and like you stated about the problems you might have while drawing, was really holding me back.Thank you so much. You really helped!
The men drawings are rlly good!
I think I draw good but like they don't look much realistic..I just don't know the proportions clearly ksjsjsdjd
sugathevocal then practice proportions
There's a lot of videos on youtube on how to draw anatomy and gesture drawing, it would definetly be usefull to you :)
same
Me too...
Stare at random people in restaurants 😂😂😂😂 jk
.... Buttttt I suggest to study the way humans move and to look into anatomy 😋😋😋
This really helped. I'm happy to say that I already do most of these and I can see how doing the rest of doing them together can improve a persons art
an other tip: print out some other artist’s sketch, make it almost transparent, take a black pencil and practice your line art while turning the drawing in something more your style

thank you i've been trying to improve on my art for about 5 years and with this is helping me ponder on this and I will definetly try each of these out
You got great talent! It's magnificent. 👏🏼👌🏻
Thank you :)
Loved the energy throughout all of this! Thank you this helps motivate me.
i used to draw wolfs now im moving on to humans and combining animals together like a bird and a cat and stuff :3
That's also how I started out :) Good luck!
Omg this helped so much!! Thx sm!! I absolutely love this video and please make more!💕😩😍
Your voice sounds so comforting 😊 like it won't pressure a person to really do what you are doing. 🙂😊

“I know we all hate to draw hands” lol😂 true guurl
Thanks!
This is beautiful. I subbed instantly
Thank you!
