- Soooo…. I’m intrigued to know what you all would have done in the middle here. We ended up with 2 three quarters in the middle, It was supposed to only be the one course but then we had to put the window up 4 course higher. Just FYI i don’t get the final ok on things like this, i run it past my boss and colleagues first to come up with the best idea.
This was my first time flemish bond, the bricks are all shapes and sizes, some small , some big, some banana. Very barn like rustic finish, i do like them.
Let me know your thoughts. Видеоклипы
Just a little tip, when toothing out and you cut joint with cutter, always start cutting brick out from top first, then work your way. down, there is less chance of the brick below snapping off as it supported with the brick below. I always find if you start at bottom the pressure from banging brakes the brick below.nice work keep it up girl.👍
He's right and if people don't want to listen then you can always learn the hard way.
@J Just guys like you will never learn because you don't want to listen to people with more experiance
@J Just lol legend
This is so true....you only break a lower brick once!
Just a little tip/// always remove the bricks tooth out from top down/// less likely to break
Great job well done, try using a scutch chisel as well as a bolster chisel will definitely make the job a lot easier👍🙂
Nice job respect to anyone that takes up this wet trade ye earn every penny the hard and honest way happy new year 🎉
All wet trades are real hard graft,,,,, plastering, roughcasting are unbelievably skillfully and difficult,,,,done it for 50 yrs ,,,,glad l made it to retirement!
@@robertoneill8022 you wouldn't be interested in one last job would you?
@@robertoneill8022 Im a plasterer too.......at least brickys can cover there wall over with a tarp....once we start... we have to finish😂🤣
@@james8833 you plasters are spoiled for choice when it's a little wet or cold ye run in out of it and do your handy inside work 😉
Perfect work, love the way people comment to give tips, arm chair tradesmen! 😂. Just a little tip for next time, you missed out a couple of tea breaks, next time your doing a job, get a bacon butty and a mug of coffee,
Respect to all the women in the building trade keep up the good work
All 3 of them
@@oldskoolordie well I've got a team of 6 that work for me
@@jamescraven5001 yep, was just joking. Workers should be respected no matter what race, sex etc they are.
Don't need a pat on the back for existing.
@@oldskoolordie 😂yeah I no you was. No your right I couldn't agree with you more 👍
Are we supposed to be surprised that a "Girl bricklayer" can lay Bricks?
Would this have been shown if it was a young guy ?.....maybe...maybe not....oh look its a GIRL !!!!
YES…..I’ve worked on many sites for over 30 years & have not once come across a woman Bricky. Good luck to her though.
I have not seen 1 female brickie, plumber, joiner, spark ect in oven 35 years. Dont tell me that its because people are sexist, its because the building game is not suitable for female trades that involves dirty, cold , manual work. May he decorating?. I'm not a chauvinist pig , I'm just telling you my opinion & what I have seen. Nice to see women having a go anyway.
Yes
@@terryhorne2582 I must be lucky we have a female bricky and plumber on our street both self employed and both do a very good job
Love the confidence with the disc cutter👌
Nicely done, neat and clean finished product.
Go girl power to you and good to see Respect ✊🏴
Only one thing missing the bricklayers arse nice job nice to see women playing with bricks I taught my wife to lay brick so she could help with building my pond .
Yes girl go ed nice little bit of work that matched it in nice
Frikkin awesome!!!!😁😁i love it!!...well done!!
You go girl
Great job keep up the good work 👍
Great job you do, wish you the very best in your live. 👍
Just so good to see women in the building trade 👍💪
Great job better than a lot of other people's so called so good luck brilliant work 9 out of 10 girls or ladies would never give that a go
Personally I'd have flemish bonded the plinth course. It means a bit more work cutting the things to make the header brick but it would have been effective. Possibly it may have been worth your while nipping a few more of the stretchers ( maybe 10 mm ) or so just to make those final two cuts in the middle that little bit bigger. Mind you, its easy to sit back in my warm living room and pass a critical eye over someone else's work. Yours is great and matches the existing building really well, good luck for the future and keep dry.
Awesome thanks so much. The only reason we didn’t flemish bond the plinths was because there was an existing extension right next to this one and the customers wanted to make them look identical. The existing extension plinths weren’t flemish bond. Some really good information there though i will take on board for next time. Thankyou
She handles that chop saw like a boss 💪💪💪
Nice work Miss
Wow nice work
Nailed it tidy work.
Good work
Very impressive carry out the job in a tradesman like manner
Fantastic
Good job. My kind of woman.
That is not a job I've done that too Manny times it's the cutting out
And the cleaning out after that part the rest is fun im retired and I miss it alot thanks for your videos it's good to see a good brickie working wirh the tools
You need to whizz from inside the jarm too because your blade didn't go right through also need to try and hit the bricks side on not head on because you'll come across brittle bricks where you only have to look at them and they'll brake.
But all in all its a good job.
My goodness, shes so brave.
Weird brick pattern, ...Great job.
Love how this wooman does this work for the men just to sit there and wonder why they can't do that. ✌️😉
Nice to see women taking up a dying trade. Good for her! Here in Canada, houses are made of cardboard now.
Morbidly fascinated by the person who could thought it a good idea to choose that "music".
The problem comes from whoever set out the bond above the plinth course. They've not accounted for the reduced cavity meaning their headers don't line up. There's nothing else you could have done differently, it's their mistake not yours. Carry on the good work, be proud of yourself and be proud of your trade. I've been on the trowel for forty years, I know enough to encourage, not criticise.
Like to see things done PROPERLY 👍
Good brickies earn their money, hot in the summer, wet in the autumn and cold in the winter.
The difference between bricklayers and brickstackers is that brick layers know how to do this type of work.
As far as the two 3/4s are concerned, that was in the original build. The headers above the DPC weren't lined up with those below. It's a the sort of problem a good bricky should be aware of and can work their way around. A lot of brickies I had to deal with weren't as proficient as she is. Come to think about it, they weren't as good looking either.
[Edit] Before you take umbridge, that's intended as a compliment for her and banter for the blokes I'm talking about.
Like it
try a rip saw with masonry blade
We've an ox lump hammer and its earnt its name the wrist snaper. Some stuff ox make is OK but imo ox hammers feel just plain wrong.
Great video keep up the hard work.
Does it not need a queen closer on the reveal not a 3/4 brick.
This was my first time so I’m learning allot from this. I can see what you mean though, i will try that next time, thanks so much. 😁 Merry Christmas 🤶🏻
You can use a 3/4 but I prefer the traditional way of a queen closer or just false perping a 3/4 to give the impression of a queen .
What about the eye protection?
That’s brilliant! Does anyone have her number like?
"A woman did the job?"
Home owner "yes"
"Insurance DENIED" 😁
She is not a bricky woman "...she is affectionately known as a Brickette
That's a type of brick
Im not a bricklayer and never layed bricks dont know why I am here but surely it's better to start cutting from the top no? as there is more support?
lol is that 1/4 or 1/3 bond
The bond either side of the window doesn't match with what's below the plinths which is why you ended up with 2 three quarters.Once above the plinths the bonds been changed -someone's set it out wrong.
🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸
Eye safety protection should not be overlooked...
Don't know a thing about building trade, what's the purpose of doing this?
Spent all my working life as a brickie, never once saw a female one.
That's because they have the job that need a brain to do them I think.
No, that's because the work is not suited for a female. That goes for any building site work. I would love you to say to a brickie face to face that he hasn't got a brain.
@@terryhorne2582 do you really think you need much of a brain to lay bricks then.
Great job of course. Only thing I might have tried different is for that section, if time allowed, is shorten the full bricks a little to try and make the bond headers even across the section. Possibly. Just to try and avoid that strange bit in the centre
So a bricky at work?
How does she do flemish bond on a single skin? Surely she's just alternating stretchers and halfbats?
@Stuart Hendry I thought the feature and strength of Flemish Bond was in the headers going through from the face of the brickwork to lock in with the other bricks behind.
Half bat's in a single skin don't lock with anything. Looks like Flemish Bond, though.
Rockwool in a cavity? That can’t be right?
If she ain't tryna clean the house ... then tell her to build one
So just a brickie then....
just noticed there is 3..... 3/4 cuts in the plinth course .......
Yes as the plinth wasn’t flemish bond the plinths wouldn’t work bond, so we had to cut them.
21st century and they still build cavity walls of bricks and tons of mortar... lol
Beautiful girl
Is a girl brickie different to a brickie then?
no... but it gets more views 😆
anyone notice the state of the work around the window in the background, total mess
Wild to say the least lol.
@@lmilne4859 haha
Just noticed that , that’s my kind of quality work
thats not mine 😂
@@rattlekings i think some jack of all joiner must of had a go doing it, haha
I got a wisdom needs toothing out , if u can 😂
Glasses you got one set eyes and a long time to go before you hang up the tools look after yourself…
They'll be allowed to vote next...
‘Girl bricky toothing in flemish bond’
What language is this?
Nice tidy job,👍👍
I got a 600 MTR wall she can build me 😆
Nice job start at the top tho it’s better if the weight is supported while you work 👍🏻
Booom nice
Veary rear to a woman in an all man trade but when you do there good 👍👊🏻💪🏻❤️
I’m glad to see she has a man supervising her, I trust he was keeping a very close eye on her. I personally think all men should have a “take your wife to work day” and allow them to see how hard we have it, whilst they sit at home.
Ooo edgy
@Hippychic you assume I’m married you silly little thing. I’m far too much of a desired bachelor to allow such a silly thing as marriage to hinder me. 😘
Not sure why the title specifically says “girl bricklayer” : surely it’s just a bricklayer doing some toothing and bonding…
Good on you All these women banging on about equality but do not do the hard job's Well done show great example
"girl does"? So what? "Nothing A thousand men haven't done already...
Good job.
Be nice when what sex the worker is becomes irrelevant.
I am not interested in what sex my pilot or surgeon is as long as they can do the job well
Never put a woman down
They are devoted and think of the task in hand, rather than thinking of the weekend frolics
What the hell has being a girl got to do with it
Looks to me like a adult woman. Not a girl. There is a difference. Nice job too. 👍🏻
Little tip for all of yous...when toothing out the brick your taking out eg half's. Leave the bed on the brick your taking out on top and bottom bed on the half your removing quicker and easier..saves using hammer and nicker as much..😉💯

I perhaps would of broken the bond slightly differently, and clipped some more of the strechers, too many three quarters and it just looks like a bit of strecher bond in the middle of a flemish wall. But that's just my brickies eye, joe public probably wouldn't notice, it is annoying when you get a bit like this to get over and look right. You just have to dry bond and see what looks best. Merry Christmas to you.
Thanks that really helpful! I will remember that for next time. 😁
Merry Christmas to you too 🎄
Im a bricky and i hate it
And so say all of us
I see nothing wrong hear. There is a male on hand incase anything goes pear shaped
No Googles
whatever clown done that brickwork wants their trowel thrown away
could of flipped it the second course to have been the first and come off with a bit of broken bond at the jambs 3/4 either side or you could have had a double stretcher but Nash or Frost/ Cutter books give you up 5 headers next to each other in broken bond excises ...... whats caused all this is they have not followed the bond under the plinth course ...... JB your brickwork college ex lecturer D32/D33 G& G 706 1/2 and advance craft .... world skills brickwork instructor
I think that's called James Bond or maybe even Brooke Bond
If the drawings were read correctly in the first place, the window opening would not have needed adjusting in the first place!!
Dohhhhhhhh
Did you need to be specific that it was a girl doing it? I don't know just seemed kinda like pointless info, anyone can do anything if you just try so this is of no surprise that a woman can do a job most seen being done by men
Interesting, but why title it ‘Girl Bricky?’ If it was a man you wouldn’t have titled it ‘Man Bricky’.
Shame the government and the opposition party don't believe in bringing young British apprenticeships in .instead of shouting about shortages, no shortage of labour just a shortage of cheap labour.
Good job well done 👏, not a big thing your a female doing though 🤔
Work top to bottom... Saying that she's bricking up as she goes nice
Music was annoying.
Why do you have to label it ‘girl bricklayer’ like we’re meant to be more impressed ? Who cares that she is female. All I see is a skilled worker doing a professional job. Gender has NOTHING to do with it
Why do we need to know this is a woman ffs
Imagine only doing something because you want to film it and upload it for social points. We don't care. Live your life. Some more click baity glass ceiling bullshit
Why is the title "girl bricklayer"🤷🏻♂️ who cares if you're a girl
tis a mans job girley get ur self down the hairdressers or learn to use a typewritter nout good comes of a women doing a mans job
So your saying a bloke can't cook mate? 😂
@@lIlPedrolIl dont be stupid , a woman cooks and man provides , i works hard all day and the wife put meat and two veg infront of me after a hard days graft lad
Tbf she’s a better Bricky than me so your thing doesn’t make sense
@@ryanscarrmusic2329 Aye, agreed. This is how a proper family unit should function. Mutual appreciation for each other doing what each are best at. One caring, one grafting. Spot on mate.
