When you keep repeating the pattern in the same direction, it looks fake because you end up with a running joint from one side of the path to the other. But if you change the direction of the stamp you will eliminate the running joint and it will look way more realistic. Running joints are a NO,NO in any stone masonry work. I know, I'm a stone mason.
Great job sunshine. I remember watching my dad create our walkway and patio when I was quite young. No molds just squares. Tinted cement to boot. Looked great. Being a girl, he was old fashion, I did not get to help him. Lol. Thanks. New subscriber. 💚🇨🇦

Hola mi gente, feliz domingooo!!!!! Exelente trabajo, le ponen tantas ganas que se ve fasil hacerlo, sigan en el ruedo, saludos desde San Juan Argentina. 👍👍👍🇦🇷
Oh, I like that! Like those type of stamps. These look much easier to use. Put down cement and stamp it rather than put down a plastic mold, fill it with cement and wait for cement to start to harden before moving on.
This seems like a perfect thing to do in an area besides my house. I would love to try this. I wish knew where to get a mold. Also, I need more info about the coloring added.
Generally speaking, expansion joints should be no farther apart than 2 to 3 times (in feet) the total thickness of the concrete (in inches). So for a 4‑inch thick concrete slab, expansion joints should be no more than 8 to 12 feet apart. Your mileage will vary with your climate and base.
Looks great, but mortar doesn't work in cold country and irrespective of the product, an expansion joint is usually required when you're working between solid structures.
Always one guy in the crowd. I lived in northern Maine for 12 years. Forty degrees Fahrenheit below zero and "concrete" worked just fine LOL. So if you need an expansion joint, put one in! If it doesn't work for you, don't do it! Geeze.
@@FisherCatProductions Call it what you want but it's not "concrete" and placing it without mesh, rebar, or gravel base is for DIYers!! I'm 80 years old and a third generation mason! BTW, there is no such thing as a Fisher cat!!
@@jackriley5974 II never commented on the general installation, so I have no idea why you are addressing me with those concerns. I only referenced the mix used. There is no reason to presume this is a weak mortar mix. The "concrete" itself and stamping would hold up just fine in northern Maine. And I AM a FisherCat!
Very nice! But I wonder if you could turn the stencil 90/180 degrees here and there to make it look even more natural and vivid. Now it's a row of identical sections so it looks somewhat artificial.
@@harryl8234 🤣 🤡. This is easy to do. It's went out of style now anyway. We've been tearing these up and making a ton of money off of the tear outs. The joints Crack on these. Because these installers don't use the mesh and rebar required by codes. This job wasn't done by code or permit. Guaranteed this job has failed also.
Yo tengo una casita en la montaña ,con huerto y árboles ,y el resto de terreno lo hicimos como este con el mismo molde y la verdad que es súper limpio y bonito de verdad
I fully appreciate that, but I personally love that repeating segments but varied pattern in each segment, its a regular irregularity if that makes sense xD
I love the look. But is the paint durable? Does it crack in 10-20 years? I think I will go with sandstone instead (similar rustique look), but it seems really good for some cases. Especially that you can use any mold and style the colour.
Question: will the cement be strong enough to sustain even light traffic? My opinion is that if you placed some strengthening bars in the cement it would give it a chance - it was only a couple of inches thick at most.
Looks good. Very thin walkway. Maybe this is in a frost free area. In the northern US a thin walkway like this will break up fairly quickly due to the expansion and contraction of the earth and concrete during freeze cycles. Not into using the same stamp over and over. Looks cheap with the repeated paterns.
Nah..im not dealing with constantly having to repaint it. Id put pigment/dye directly into the concrete when i was mixing it...it may take some experimentation to get the right mix of colors and quartz.

in fact, two sides of the mold are staggered precisely for this reason. The mold was used in the wrong direction.
