28th June 1986 at the Garden Party at Milton Keynes Bowl when they played the album in full. A memory I’ll always cherish. ❤

this song literally changed my life. it started me on a new path of music awareness and appreciation, and inspired me to become the mildly talented musician that i have become.
the most perfectly conceived, written, and produced album i can think of. thanks so much to the band and Christopher Robin Kimsey for bringing it to life and recording it for us all to share. also thanks to Mark Wilkinson for the beautiful artwork.

First heard this song in a "best 80's songs" compilation a few years ago, and that's how I learned about Marillion and their other great songs. This song will always hold a special in me, definitely love the guitar solo, especially the one in the extended version

really released not earlier than may 1985 ?
I heard it for the very first time , the full album, from a tape a buddy had given me on the saturday of live aid when we had to load our rowing boats for a championship the next 2 days in hannover. And that sunday was a terrible hot sunday over 36°C when I heard the album for the very first time. Still lovely memories and reminds me to Loreley concert too.

I don't care that Fish isn't singing, especially since he really can't sing those songs in the same key, but you can tell that H has really no interest in singing Fish era songs.

Not one of their better offerings in my opinion......it just doesn't have the "depth" of 95% of their songs.
