For those who are too lazy to look it up (which was me as well), a "Big-lipped alligator moment" is basically an unusual scene in a movie that appears without any set-up or any meaning to the plot going forward. Practically just a "HAHA funny shenanigans, random stuff go brr" moment.
It originated with Lindsey Ellis during her nostalgia chick days. When she collabed with Doug Walker for the ferngully review, she made the joke and Doug ran with it like an Olympic torch, making it a recurring gag in his videos
@@marley7868 I know, this is just the definition of it incase everyone was wondering. @@TheDanishGuyReviews Oh. My. Mysterious guy in heaven. It goes even deeper! Another thing: If Isabel is Garterbelt, than considering his backstory, this means that long ago she was a sinful stray dog too! That would surely make an interesting connection between her and Charlie.
little known fact but if you were to pull up "all dogs Go to heaven 2"'s Wikipedia article just before the 7-hour war, it would leak black sludge out of your monitor.
I haven't watched this movie since finding out little Judith was murdered by her Dad along with her Mother. Strange how none of the people working around her didn't notice anything was wrong. She used to cry, pull her hair out and hurt herself at recordings.
People noticed, none of them cared, both her and her mom made multiple outcries, including a breakdown in front of an agent that resulted in a therapist finding out about all of it and reporting it to CPS. Investigation was dropped when her mother assured them she'd divorce and move away from her husband. She hesitated because she was afraid of losing everything and that's when it happened. They were both failed by several abhorrent, garbage systems that were somehow even worse than they are today.
I know right. That poor little girl... She was completely failed by the adults around her. May she rest in peace. She was such a good little actress too.
It still kills me that Judith Barsi never got to see the finished product of these movies and how well they did... RIP Judith, your work will live on forever.
I have seen 0 All Dogs media but this was a great watch! Loved the amount of care and research you put into this. The BrentalFloss bit & Elmira reveal were still eye opening for me. I also feel like such an animation nerd for clocking the David Feiss influence the second I saw the first shot of the incidentals you showed.
1:55:44 -Itchy is an angel. He's dead. That's why he is the ghost of Christmas Past. Sasha is currently alive. Thus she is the ghost of Christmas Present. Charlie has been dead the longest. He also is the most experienced with death and Hell outside of Carface. Further, he is established as the one wanting to continue on earth longer than itchy. Charlie truely just wants to be alive forever and dislikes heaven so he would be the most obvious between all that to be the ghost of Christmas future.

I remember watching this movie as a kid and being mind boggled about how this was basically a gangster movie with talking dogs. Also I really like how the animation cells seem to be a bit rougher and on the dirty side compared to other Don Bluth films. It matches the tone of the film perfectly.
Heck yeah i see the tiny gordon freeman in the top right corner of the thumbnail, it’s so important that we really talk about his tragic end that unfortunately happened in the movie for real and not for fake

LOSING IT OVER THE SONIC UNLEASHED THEME AT THE BEGINNING OF THE ALL DOGS GO TO HEAVEN 2 SEGMENT LMAOOOO i have NEVER been able to hear that song without thinking of "it's too heavenly here" i feel actually cursed (also wanna add how happy i am to finally see someone talk about the tv show, i had several dvd's of it that i'd watch over and over as a kid and it's such a deep cut that i've NEVER seen anyone mention so it's awesome hearing you go over it)
I still remember that very first teaser with Sonic throwing the ring in the air and then slamming down his werehog hand while whistling the exact same notes as "Its Too Heavenly Here", 11 year old me fully interpreting the ring as a halo and the werehog hand as some kind of Sonicky demon.
They did though! ADGTH 2 is the only sequel I’ll acknowledge, and even that one has its issues. Although Red’s a pretty cool villain, and his villain song is pretty catchy too.
The 80s were a brutal time to release an animated film. Home video was hot, and parents were reluctant to take their kids to the theater when they could buy a VHS tape for cheaper and the kids could watch a movie all they wanted. But, direct-to-video was seen as printing money, so even a box office bomb got direct-to-video sequels.
I can't recall when this law went into effect, but in the 90s at some point they passed a law mandating a certain amount of educational content in programs for children. That might be why it became a moralistic story
So glad to see a deep dive into this series. I loved All Dogs Go To Heaven 1 & 2 as a kid, which is funny in hindsight because of how dark and scary they are, but Charlie and Itchy were (and are) my boys.
2:00:00 After this video I managed to find a FULL SET of these toys all still in their bags on Facebook marketplace lol Each character description is as follows *CHARLIE* "Here I am, yours truly, Charlie. I'm a lucky guy 'cause I have some of the best friends in the world. Even though I've made some big mistakes, I've learned my lesson about one thing that's really important in life -- and that's friendship." *ITCHY* "Here's Itchy, my faithful pal. We go way back. He's a little high strung and every time he gets nervous he starts itching all over! Never fails. Even though I'm the brains in this outfit, Itchy's a great mechanic. He can fix anything -- well almost! Together we make a great team." *ANNE MARIE* "Anne Marie, a real cutie. Her smile gets me every time. And, boy, does she have a way with animals. She can talk to mice, horses, turtles -- not to mention dogs! Anne Marie really loves me even thought I'm not always as nice as I should be. She's really a terrific kid -- just wait 'til you meet her." *CARFACE* "Even though Carface and I used to be partners , I always knew that deep down inside Carface was mean and greedy. You can't trust Carface as far as you can throw him -- which isn't far 'cause he's a pretty big guy! And now that I've met Anne Marie, he's double crosses me for the last time." *FLO* "Ahh, Flo. She really has a heart of gold. She runs an orphanage for all the lost puppies in town. What a handful! And even though she's a real softie, she does a great job of keeping everyone in line -- including me!" *KING GATOR* "I met my friend King Gator by accident. He almost gobbled me up! 'Course he didn't know I could sing and, boy does he love music. It'd good to have a buddy as big as King Gator 'cause he really comes through in a pinch -- as long as the door is wide enough!" so tl;dr charlie learns the magic of friendship or something lol
I've always been a lover of ADGTH. I remember as a kid not liking the second one, wondering why Charlie seemingly forgot about Anne-Marie and Flo. It was also one of the fews times I could tell the voice actor was different. I've seen the Christmas Carol but some how missed the series.
Im glad to have a new video about the all dogs go to heaven lore because i think the second to last time i heard a youtuber talk about this franchise it was on Lindsey Ellises channel back when she was doing the nostalgia chick stuff
I'mma be honest, I'm kinda glad I've never heard of, let alone seen, the ADGTH show. Even you talking about it is giving me psychic damage. However, I can't stop watching. It's just like the car wreck that sent Charlie to God in the first movie, but in slow motion, and set ablaze!
i have a bit of a confession: when i was five, i saw All Dogs Christmas Carol during preschool, and something about that damn purple demon wench scared the absolute crap out of me for years on end, i was TRAUMATIZED!!!! but, looking back, her hammyness is a little enjoyable to watch, even though the motives and fine details of her plan were REALLY stupid. hell, it's actually a poor-man's rip-off of the demon-jaguar's scheme from the second movie, almost note-for-note! -they both have Car-guy do most of the dirty work. -they're both led by a demonic housepet. -and they both operate out of Alcatraz turning the sky blood-red. (Jesus, how can these idiots POSSIBLY miss that? LOOK STRAIGHT UP!!!) jeez, between this purple mop, and Mirage from the Aladdin Animated series, i guess Bette Midler was just going through a "demonic house pet" kick in the 90s? and another thing, wasn't Killer living in 1930s New Orleans? he should have been long dead by the 90s! the only way i can think of him being there is either the Animated series being in an alternate timeline, or he somehow became a resurrected demon alongside his boss, though i really doubt the latter.
Being a kid obsessed with animals in the early 2000s I feel like I’ve watched almost every animal movie there is and all dogs go to heaven was definitely one of them. I remember watching the first movie a lot the second movie sort of a lot. I remember watching the series for a little bit and I DEFINITELY remember watching the Christmas Carol one on repeat. I would rewind to “clean up your act” so much just so I can learn the lyrics. I was obsessed with that song. This video was such a nice trip down memory lane.
Personally i always liked Annabelles design in the first movie better. The fact she only has one ear lead me to make a headcannon in my mind she was abused by humans in her time on earth which is why she speaks of how dogs are naturally good unlike people
honestly you coulda done a nice gag there 8 years on he dies then he's greated and the song plays itchy at the end asks how the kid is andhave charley say "grandkids on the way"itchy can be shocked"it's been 52 years glad one of us was having fun" or something like that
@@marley7868 I had this fan fic idea of of how and All dogs go to heaven 2 would have played out. In 1949 Charlie is sent to earth by Annabelle, she tells him his mission is to find itchy. When he asks he is told it Itchy’s time to come to heaven and felt it be better if Charlie is the one to welcome him. Charlie is honoured but also not ready to see his best friend die but gets sent. Down on earth Charlie is getting use to how much time passed the updated technology getting distracted by Television and how he never seen something like that in his… existence. He hears a dog yell and out comes a Dachshund that runs into Charlie. Very young looking Charlie mistakes him for itchy but the Dachshund snarled and tells Charlie that he’s Scratchy and asks how he knows about His grandfather Itchy. Carface is back and notices Charlie on earth and wants revenge for the entire gator and has hounds out to kidnap Scratchy . Charlie comes to the rescue. Notices how Carface’s new lair is surrounded by clocks and Carface tells Charlie. He wouldn’t be able to tell since he keeps his clock hidden. Mocking him ( oh yeah Charlie is given his life watch but it set to a limit time. Once it stops he back to heaven) Carface sees Charlie’s watch and takes it. He dangles the watch over a ledge taunting Charlie that he had the power to end his existence.( more like he not allowed back in heaven and will go to hell) Charlie is conflicted. Save the pup or go for the watch, he has to think and be smart. Last time he prioritised the watch it cost him the life of a human child. But scratchy manages to get Charlie’s watch while holding out a clock that was Carface’s car face is shocked and screaming at the pup to let go of the clock but Scratchy accidentally drops the clock and it breaks. Carface isn’t sure what’s going to happen but the ground shakes and splits apart. Skelton like hands come out and grab Carface. A dark voice calls his name and he is being pulled to hell. The voice tells Carface he will never go back as he dragged to hell. .. Charlie looks at his watch, his time on earth is almost up. With a heavy heart he tells Scratchy if he can visit itchy before he goes. On the way Scratchy is crying. He says he not ready to say goodbye. Charlie comforts the pup telling him his struggles to say goodbye to love ones. Including a little girl he once knew. In a back yard inside a dog house Scratchy approaches the dog house. 13 year old Itchy ( in dog years that be 91) Itchy is stun to see Charlie and with his old aging body he get a closer look. The 2 friends have a friendly laugh but Charlie had to break the news that he’s here to bring Itchy to heaven Itchy under standing the situation smiles and says he had a feeling it was time and is happy that he was the one to welcome him. Itchy says goodbye to scratchy and tells him to keep an eye on her as he nudges to the house. Charlie was sure who they were talking about but before he could ask his watched stopped and a blue light came down to the two of them Charlie looks at itchy, it’s time he said. Itchy nodded as they both walked into the light. After the light faded the door to the house opened, a 17 year old girl comes out of the house. “ Scratchy” she walked over and petted the pup “ was that Charlie” she asked him The pup nodded “ yeah” he responded looking up at the sky “ grandpa is with him now” End. ….. That’s my idea sorry for the long response
34:15 speaking of rushed work, in the scene where Annabel is first requesting help to retrieve Gabriel's Horn, and the assortment of dogs come up requesting to volunteer, there is a single frame with Charlie on screen (after shoving the small dog into the big dogs mouth) where someone literally stuck masking tape onto the cel pointing into Charlie's mouth with the word "tongue" written on it, denoting that the inker accidentally filled in the spot where Charlie's tongue was supposed to show through his teeth. When I spotted it, I was greatly amused because I watched ADGTH2 a ton as a kid (more than the first one), mostly as something to fill the dead air of me doing other things, and I had never noticed until a few years ago and going back to rewatch it, just how clearly rushed the animation work was. Sometimes you'll notice that the film stock that was used for some shots is out of focus or insanely grainy as if they didn't expose it correctly. And the animation seems to jump around in quality too, you will notice in a couple scenes that background characters will change design since we jump from one overseas studio to another. I really love freezeframing this movie now because I always seem to find something really hilarious, and this video is no exception. I didn't realize there was more preproduction stuff floating around out there, because I remember tripping over that bizarre poster with the pre-final design for the kid, and something else that stuck out to me with that poster is that Charlie and Itchy seem to be closer to their older designs from the first film, which could be related to the production actually having some former Bluth people at the helm for preproduction stuff. Anyways cool video, I am glad to learn there are more people out there taking the time to delve into what is probably the strangest franchise of the 90s in terms of how brief it was, all things considered, and yet how extensive it also was. MGM was really trying to ride the coattails of the big guys and it was shown in the end that they were way too cheap for that market, even by cheap 90s animation standards. I guess there was some decent stuff to come out of MGM's later animation endeavors, but it was never quite on the level of the stuff they got with Bluth, for better or worse.
Watching a little further into the video after this comment and it should be noted I'm discussing the TV animation division that MGM had set up in the 90s, which had also done some direct to video stuff (like the infamous NIMH 2). I think some of the stuff that team did occasionally looked decent, but it was also really apparent that MGM was phoning in those productions and the quality of everything else about those productions was all over the place.
20:09 that music...i thought i was the ONLY ONE that noticed the similarities between the ADGTH2 title and Sonic Unleashed. Absolute GENIUS to put that score there!!!
I go to a college where don bluth had donated a lot of, if not most of pretty much EVERYTHING from his movies to the school libaray. including all dogs stuff. its rly cool
Seeing Shunks make an All Dogs Go To Heaven video after seeing stuff about it on his Instagram all the time makes this feel like the Endgame of his channel.
I think the main thing that bothered me, as a kid, was the Timeline. The first movie was 1930s/1940s and then the sequel was in the 1990s. Even if Itchy died of old age, the time didn't add up. That literally bugged me as a kid.
See when I was a kid I thought the same thing. But then rewatching it a few weeks ago, I just assume now that Itchy getting into heaven is supposed to happen in the past, and then their mission to earth is what happens after a not well-implied time skip. At least that's what I thought in the moment rewatching it.
Well done! I loved that series so much growing up. I can't unsee Cow and Chicken in this now series now! o_o; I truly wished the TV series was better though. Also, today is Don Bluth's birthday so Happy Birthday to him!
King Gator is a botched Chekhov's Gun. In an early draft that character was mentioned as a vicious and infamous rival gangster to Carface and Charlie. That part of the initial draft never made it into the animation phase. So the literal Chekhov's Gun and subversion of the evil reptile trope got it's proper introduction cut out because of budget and hectic production. One of Don Bluth's biggest struggles was managing and administration overhead. He's creative, but needs someone to keep hold of the reigns. Otherwise you get a Ridley Scott situation (Kingdom of Heaven and Prometheus) where key character motivations and plot threads are cut for pacing or time.
hello as the world’s most loving ADGTH fan i cannot possibly tell u how ecstatic i am that the algorithm blessed me with this. i used to watch the show RELIGIOUSLY (it came on after the 500 Club, so that tracks) as a kid, and was even taping it live on VHS. I'm confused as to why I struggle to bring myself to watch a 10~ minute episode of a web series, yet I'm perfectly content spending 2 hours on this I guess I just like retrospectives and "rabbit hole" type videos a lot, and I think you did very well with this one! SpongeBob
I'm not even a subscriber and I never watch this kind of content so idk how I even got here, but ig I must've just stayed for the nostalgia of the 1st movie without ever knowing anything came after it or that it was a franchise, not just a one off film... Yet I'll see a 1hr video on a game ik I wanna watch someone play and it goes a single minute over that mark and I immediately check out, 40min is usually the longest I'll watch in one sitting, yet I didn't even check the video length when I clicked on this and I never do that. What magic spell has this guy cast on us?
I had a vhs my grandfather recorded (badly, in slp format) of ADGTH and after obsessing over it around the 5th grade got a vhs of it, right around the time the direct to video sequel ADGTH 2 came out, the drop in animation and writing quality was jarring and I didn't like it, and generally ignored anything else from the franchise, I was aware at some point od the christmas special but didn't even know they made a tv series. I am so intrigued now and you've rejuvinated my childhood fascination with the film I'm going to see if I can marathon through the franchise now. It's been so long since I even watched the original. This is certainly the best video essay ever made about All Dogs go to Heaven, thank you for making it.
my grandmother had not one, but TWO dachshunds she named after Itchy from these movies. Itchy2 was mean as hell (literal actual zombie dog that didnt bite it till he was almost 20)

Does anyone else agree that Carface has the worst villain decay of just about any villain in fiction? Amazing video by the way, here's your comment to boost you.
It's nice to see All Dogs get talked about, it is definitely interesting knowing where the people who worked on It's sequels and TV series ended. (primarily with 2 having a connection with Cow & Chicken which does explain why it's animated like it is)
Never expected a Half Life, But the Ai is Self-Aware reference in a All Dogs go to Heaven retrospective, but I wouldn't have it anyway. I wasn't board in the slightest & didn't speed up the video, just very well researched n' edited. Keep it up
I’m gen z and this was one of my favorite movies as a kid. I saw it on television and became obsessed with it. My mother bought me the movie and the second movie. We found the Christmas special on VHS at a local goodwill. I didn’t understand the references in the first movie, but I still love it as an adult. They don’t make movies like this anymore. Everything has to be politically correct. As a Christian, I liked the religious references and the themes of good vs evil and how someone seemingly bad can become good. A very unique hero’s tale you could argue.
You know what would have still followed an 'easy to write for' episodic format but have been far more interesting... is if each episode had the bad guys trying to encourage some kid or person to do bad: to cheat or lie or steal.... and charlie and the gang had to try and convince them to do the write thing. Also then you could use the villain characters a lot more often. Could have charlie try and take a short cut every time which blows up in his face and proves the point of the moral.
I adored the All Dogs Go To Heaven movies when I was little, though I never saw the series [might be for the best]. The first one is the only one that holds up for me, albeit it's sadder to watch when you realize that the voice actors for all three main characters are deceased. I feel like the second All Dogs Go To Heaven movie would have worked better if Charlie's descendent[s] and David were the main characters, with Charlie being similar to Annabelle's role in that he tries to make sure our protagonists don't get into trouble [basically carrying on his character development], and instead of Red, Belladonna would be the main antagonist and would be implied to work for the hound from Charlie's nightmare in the first movie, and Carface would still be threatening. Shunks, I hope you'll cover the Will Vinton Claymation franchise one day [starting with his various adaptions of classic stories like The Little Prince, the Dinosaurs special, The Adventures Of Mark Twain Movie, Claymation Christmas Celebration, Meet The Raisins, Raisins Sold Out, The California Raisins Show [which came before Raisins Sold Out but it'd be better to cover Raisins Sold Out before the show], Claymation Comedy Of Horrors, Claymation Easter, The PJs, and Gary And Mike. These specials and series are very creative, but not all of them are good [Claymation Easter is AWFUL and The California Raisins Show is hit or miss. The Meet The Raisins and Raisins Sold Out specials are DELIGHTFUL though]. Sadly, through a series of events, Will Vinton lost his studio to Phil Knight and Travis Knight and the studio became Laika. I highly recommend watching the documentary Claydream, it's good in both learning about Will Vinton and learning about animation history in general.
All of Bluth's films in the 80s (Anastasia as a bonus) are my favorites. But ADGTH(and even 2) is the one i grew up with and is closest to my heart. Had it on VHS DVD and now Blu-ray.
This is pretty sweet actually. Not gonna say All Dogs go to Heaven is my favorite thing ever but it's always been interesting to me and I'm glad you were crazy enough to cover all this. Thank ya! ❤This series is crazy as hell xD
I'm kind of an apologist for All Dogs 2. It's not my favorite animated sequel, I'm not saying it's Shrek 2, Last Wish, Toy Story 3 levels of quality, and I'll admit, there's a bit of nostalgic bias going on here, but I feel like there was a genuine attempt to make a film that connected with its audience in a similar manner as the first one. It keeps within the themes of the first one for the most part, and I think it balances its tone a lot better than the first one in my opinion. I think the songs are really good and Red is a great villain.
I actually grew up on the sequel BEFORE the first film ("It's Too Heavenly Here" is my fave song too), and the TV series I didn't even know about until it aired on Toon Disney when I was a teen. But yeah, ADGTH is my whole childhood! And Charlie Barkin is such a fascinating grey character to me. I even made an analysis video on him.
My grandma has a dvd of the first All Dogs go to Heaven movie. I watched this movie a ton when I was a kid. I love the art style and it has some emotional moments. The first movie is very dream-like, and I wish more movies had that vibe.
I loved that movie when it came out. Gambling dogs, casino, backstabbing, flamboyant alligators, trips to hell, girl who could talk to animals and the cast of Cannon Ball Run 2 doing the voices. It was a good time to be alive then.
That SA2 bit at the end has got me FUCKED UP Shunks, what the hell?! (Also please someone draw Charlie and Itchy but as sonic characters im begging now it MUST happen-)
I was obsessed with the original movie as a kid, and so I was 2's greatest hater because I felt they undid Charlie's character growth. Fun little nostalgia trip, I should rewatch the original.
This movie came out the same year as the little mermaid and The Girl who played the little girl in this movie died at the 10. That’s All I Know about this movie prior. 0:53 She’s Lowkey Kinda Giving Rita Vibes from Oliver and company.
seeing a review of these films that isn't a decade old makes it so much more entertaining. I'd argue the first film is one of my all time favorite animated films, and your commentary on it feels more genuine than others I have heard.

@@DoubleMcZombie HAHAHA😂😂😂😂
I barely remember it but that part
I don’t think there was so much awareness for this kind of warning sign back then unfortunately.
Child abuse allegations isn't taken quite as seriously back then than it was today

I’ve loved the first All Dogs Go to Heaven since I was little. So this is a pleasant surprise.

(also wanna add how happy i am to finally see someone talk about the tv show, i had several dvd's of it that i'd watch over and over as a kid and it's such a deep cut that i've NEVER seen anyone mention so it's awesome hearing you go over it)
I still remember that very first teaser with Sonic throwing the ring in the air and then slamming down his werehog hand while whistling the exact same notes as "Its Too Heavenly Here", 11 year old me fully interpreting the ring as a halo and the werehog hand as some kind of Sonicky demon.

At least this law gave us Sonic Sez.

2:00:00 After this video I managed to find a FULL SET of these toys all still in their bags on Facebook marketplace lol
Each character description is as follows
*CHARLIE* "Here I am, yours truly, Charlie. I'm a lucky guy 'cause I have some of the best friends in the world. Even though I've made some big mistakes, I've learned my lesson about one thing that's really important in life -- and that's friendship."
*ITCHY* "Here's Itchy, my faithful pal. We go way back. He's a little high strung and every time he gets nervous he starts itching all over! Never fails. Even though I'm the brains in this outfit, Itchy's a great mechanic. He can fix anything -- well almost! Together we make a great team."
*ANNE MARIE* "Anne Marie, a real cutie. Her smile gets me every time. And, boy, does she have a way with animals. She can talk to mice, horses, turtles -- not to mention dogs! Anne Marie really loves me even thought I'm not always as nice as I should be. She's really a terrific kid -- just wait 'til you meet her."
*CARFACE* "Even though Carface and I used to be partners , I always knew that deep down inside Carface was mean and greedy. You can't trust Carface as far as you can throw him -- which isn't far 'cause he's a pretty big guy! And now that I've met Anne Marie, he's double crosses me for the last time."
*FLO* "Ahh, Flo. She really has a heart of gold. She runs an orphanage for all the lost puppies in town. What a handful! And even though she's a real softie, she does a great job of keeping everyone in line -- including me!"
*KING GATOR* "I met my friend King Gator by accident. He almost gobbled me up! 'Course he didn't know I could sing and, boy does he love music. It'd good to have a buddy as big as King Gator 'cause he really comes through in a pinch -- as long as the door is wide enough!"

I laughed way too hard at "and then Carface gets caught in the ass-clapper 5000"

40:26 :D i was thinking of this artist the whole time i was watching. their columbo furry art is one of the top ten images of all time
i have a bit of a confession:
when i was five, i saw All Dogs Christmas Carol during preschool, and something about that damn purple demon wench scared the absolute crap out of me for years on end, i was TRAUMATIZED!!!!
but, looking back, her hammyness is a little enjoyable to watch, even though the motives and fine details of her plan were REALLY stupid.
hell, it's actually a poor-man's rip-off of the demon-jaguar's scheme from the second movie, almost note-for-note!
-they both have Car-guy do most of the dirty work.
-they're both led by a demonic housepet.
-and they both operate out of Alcatraz turning the sky blood-red. (Jesus, how can these idiots POSSIBLY miss that? LOOK STRAIGHT UP!!!)
jeez, between this purple mop, and Mirage from the Aladdin Animated series, i guess Bette Midler was just going through a "demonic house pet" kick in the 90s?
and another thing, wasn't Killer living in 1930s New Orleans? he should have been long dead by the 90s!
the only way i can think of him being there is either the Animated series being in an alternate timeline, or he somehow became a resurrected demon alongside his boss, though i really doubt the latter.

Once it stops he back to heaven)
Carface sees Charlie’s watch and takes it. He dangles the watch over a ledge taunting Charlie that he had the power to end his existence.( more like he not allowed back in heaven and will go to hell)
Charlie is conflicted.
13 year old Itchy ( in dog years that be 91)
Itchy is stun to see Charlie and with his old aging body he get a closer look. The 2 friends have a friendly laugh but Charlie had to break the news that he’s here to bring Itchy to heaven
Itchy under standing the situation smiles and says he had a feeling it was time and is happy that he was the one to welcome him.
Itchy says goodbye to scratchy and tells him to keep an eye on her as he nudges to the house. Charlie was sure who they were talking about but before he could ask his watched stopped and a blue light came down to the two of them
Charlie looks at itchy, it’s time he said. Itchy nodded as they both walked into the light.
After the light faded the door to the house opened, a 17 year old girl comes out of the house.
“ Scratchy” she walked over and petted the pup “ was that Charlie” she asked him
The pup nodded “ yeah” he responded looking up at the sky “ grandpa is with him now”
End.
…..
That’s my idea sorry for the long response

As a kid i swear Annabelle and Belladona were sisters i swear it was said somewhere it may just be a mandela effect from my childhood

I think the main thing that bothered me, as a kid, was the Timeline.

That literally bugged me as a kid.

See when I was a kid I thought the same thing. "also some nice expressions from Itchy"
Dead silence and pitch blackness

To this day the first movie is one of my absolute favorites, and honestly watching it again as an adult makes certain parts hit different. Love it

I feel like the all dogs go to heaven series art style looks so different from the original. It feels so watered down.
Oh god the song with the dancing steaks. That terrified me as a kid. Weirdly more than Charlie literally dying, or any of the demons lol
I loved this movie when I was a kid. I was almost obsessed with it at one point.
Snow
Oh I would like to see that I like Sonic the Hedgehog.
Me simply watching this video:
Shunks: mentions the pagemaster and Rover dangerfield
Me: AHHH PAGEMASTER AND ROVER
I was obsessed with the original movie as a kid, and so I was 2's greatest hater because I felt they undid Charlie's character growth. Fun little nostalgia trip, I should rewatch the original.
I think shunks is a comedy channel at this point because all the jokes hit hard
This movie came out the same year as the little mermaid and The Girl who played the little girl in this movie died at the 10. That’s All I Know about this movie prior. 0:53 She’s Lowkey Kinda Giving Rita Vibes from Oliver and company.
seeing a review of these films that isn't a decade old makes it so much more entertaining. I'd argue the first film is one of my all time favorite animated films, and your commentary on it feels more genuine than others I have heard.
1:57:27 well that was the whole point of the first movie if you remember. When Charlie stole the clock to go back to earth, he was told that he would never be able to come back
Literally only knew about thr first movie so the fact there's 3 seasons of a show is a real fun surprise
Didn't Gordon Freeman die in one of those moives?
Yeah i remember when that happened, it used to be on the wikipedia page, the website that anyone can edit.
