'Look' can be both an action verb and a stative verb. As a stative verb: (1) He looks happy (= seems). (2) The cake looks delicious (=seems). (3) He looks like his father =(appears) As an action verb, 'look' means you direct your eyes to someone or something. Examples:(i) He is looking at the cat. (ii) She looked after her baby sister (=took care of). (iii) She is looking for her phone. Back to question 12, how did the old man look? He looked sad'= he seemed sad. He was sad. What was he doing? He was looking at the photos. 'Look' is used as an dynamic verb. Hope this helps, mate!🍀
