- On the way back from getting parts for Vice Grip Garage, I saw the dealership I drive by quite often. I've heard lots of rumors and stories about folks exploring it, as it's always kept open, and or parts of the wall are missing. I decided to take a gander for myself!

Derek deserves our utmost respect. I recently learned that his new home was broken into while he was away filming for his RUclips channel and that just hurts my heart. Knowing that he is a loving family man who also provides the content that his viewers love to consume it strikes me as completely absurd when others want to take advantage and jeopardize the normal life of a normal person like this. He has brought so many laughter and a lot of great learning tools and lessons throughout his short span on RUclips and I can only thank him and his family for that. Just rest assured Derek that we have your back and we appreciate the content you create and how you incorporate your family and your sense of humor which makes us all laugh and get through our days when we're facing something that's extremely difficult We recite one of your quoted lines and everything is better. Love you man. ( By the way you should definitely link up with demo ranch for some type of car / range day!) I think you would enjoy it and we would all love to see it! Keep on keeping on, and if you can tell by the way this is, it is this way because of the way it is!

The scariest part for me was that there could have been somebody in the same room as Derek at one point who didn't want their presence known for any number of reasons....... The mind bottles...........
When I saw Vice Grip Lodge I thought it was a cheesy Chinese web grab but was pleased to see Derek’s smiling face when I clicked on it. Love to see some other content from my favorite car fixer upper.

Bro, you need a small LED tactical light as part of your EDC! For some reason I thought you always carried one. If not, it's a good idea. I don't leave home without two because one is none and two are one. Clint Smith said that. Even at home I carry a light because whenever I drop something it always goes where I need a light. Like under the workbench in the garage or under the hutch in the kitchen. I'm also never without a knife with a pocket clip. I can't begin to tell you how many times a day I use that!

The pile of clothes makes me think someone is staying in there. I wonder if he or she was laying low while he walked around waiting for the coast to be clear? More creepy to think someone may have been watching.

From what folks are saying, the place was demolished just recently; seems like such a waste. It must have been quite the place in it's day.

I'm glad a guy brought this vidja back. I remember watching it on VGG and the live show commentary about how people complained on a feller.
I never knew I needed a Halloween Special of VGG.
THAT was SCARY AS HELL to watch, derek! You've got more guts than me... mostly cuz I was freaked about the idea of meeting up with whoever is clearly living in there currently.
Next episode - even scarier, he goes into an ACTUAL dealership!
Urbex is awesome! Lots of really cool stuff to see! Just be careful. I've done quite a few explorations, and you really have to watch every step. You don't want to get hurt and stranded in some place when you're alone. Have fun, but treat these places with respect. They can hurt you before you know what's happening!

Have to say I also watch “The proper people’s” abandoned places exploring channel and truly felt the uneasy feeling of doing it in the dark alone with nothing but your cell phone light. An unexpected watch on a long forth of July weekend. Truly enjoyed it, Thank Captain Vice 😎

Judging by a lot of the comments, there's a lot of new subscribers. This is actually an episode of VGG from two or three years ago.
Could tell also because he didn't quite get the way he says his catch phrases down right and tweaked and dialed in. Like how you can tell chrisfix from his old and newer videos

Just imagine having all that space for project vehicle storage and working space instead of it going to hell like it is.

There’s not a speck of wiring left in that place…. It’d cost a fortune to rewire… would be pretty cool though and a lot less spooky
Sneaking around that place is how it feels to be sneaking downstairs to get food at zero dark 30.
Friend of mine's family owned a Chrysler dealership in the 50s and we go exploring back there all the time. Lots of cool stuff to be found, lots of old tools. They haven't even opened the storage units yet, and they think there might be cars in there.

I know this place, I've day dreamed about turning it into the ultimate Car Enthusiasts garage. Rent lifts to guys for projects, car meets, etc. A guy just needs to win the random number game to afford it.

Neat. I follow a couple of other "urban exploration" chanels, and I always have fun guessing what the purpose remains of equipment found on the walls used to serve when it was a working facility. I would guess that those steep drops from the second floor were probably vent trunks from the old HVAC system before the scrappers pulled it out of there, and the pits on the first floor were probably where the old-style hydraulic vehicle lifts used to live in the service bays. A guy does have to watch his step, though.
What that place needs is some poorly dressed mannequins placed throughout the whole facility.
That would spruce 'er RIGHT UP! :-)

My great aunt has one in her bathroom. You’ll walk in and see a woman in the corner standing there. Spooks me up every single time.
It's really too bad people have to vandalize a place. When watching these and old car restorations I think to myself.....at one time this was brand new...as for buildings they used to be bustling businesses....for cars they used to be brand new on the showroom floor....just like here!

Wow that was definitely a creepy place. I'd make sure in the future to have a buddy with you and definitely have a flashlight handy. That part with the mumbling, I don't think I heard it but that was definitely a creepy vibe especially with you just staring into blackness. A reason to have someone with you and a flashlight handy. Exploring abandoned places like this can be hazardous and not seeing where you are walking can be a big problem. Plus with a buddy if there was someone there they could be dangerous and can have a weapon like a gun so yeah. Definitely scarier than seeing you drive an old rig with no brakes and 50 year old rotting tires on the highway.

I remember when that dealership was built in ER MN. Scary tour for sure, I was waiting for someone to answer when you'd say hello.
Enjoy your restoration of the past. This video made me a little sad to realize just how much money must have been spent to build this building/dealership, probably not that long ago, and how quickly it is left to ruin. Thanks for what you do to salvage the past.
Something very creepy and sad about abandoned car dealerships. Imagine how busy and noisy they were in their heyday. A guy did a good job with his Cellphone 200 flashlight!
Yep they probably bent a lot of innocent customers over the table and emptied their wallets. Such good times.
Reminds me of the years i spent inspecting foreclosed HUD homes in the ghettos. Never a dull moment.
I can imagine that. I worked on a HUD remodeling project in DC years ago
There used to be an old abandoned meat packing plant, aka slaughterhouse, that we always explored as kids. All kinds of drop offs and holes to watch out for. There was a door that must have been missing a staircase. If you went through without watching where you were going it was a 20 foot drop. The place had been on fire several times throughout the years before it finally burned to the ground. I believe it we called the Peat Packing Plant.

If you had the money you could buy that & put all your vehicles in it after you get it fixed back up & the walls repainted & glass replaced,store your vehicles in the winter & display them when the weather is nice outside

Abandoned Dealerships are AWESOME! I got those vids of an old dealership full of old Pontiacs and Caddy's and wagons and everything
If a feller is going to wander around inside abandoned building he might want to start keeping a couple flashlights in the vehicles. Knowing his luck with battries though they'd probably not work when he needed them to. Get a couple of handcrank powered flashlights just in case.
I can finally say I got in on the ground floor of an awesome channel. I can't wait to see the VGG spin on non-automotive aspects of life!

Joined up from MS, really appreciate your content buddy. You got me all fired up and drug out my old '78 Ford out of the weeds and shined on it a bit recently. Red and White job, you may have seen (I doubt it) us unload it off the trailer by dead-manning it to a parking stop and driving the trailer out from under it!
