- For the first year in many, we decided to stay home and have a close family 4th of July. But, we decided to bring our closest friends after all, ya'll! Come along as we BBG, destroy our yard, and shoot some fireworks!

I hate to see a guy burn himself out doing all he does, but yes- more,more and more! Hi my name is Rick, and I'm an addict........If I don't get at least a 3 hour dose of the vise grip, I start to get the shakes and have severe hallucinations of poorly edited vgg ripoff wanna be videos. In all seriousness though, Derek is definitely one of a kind, you could go far as to say a national treasure. Love the content, I both entertained and educated.

When you feel like the inmates are running the asylum, it sure does make a guy feel better to see a regular American and his regular family having a regular meal and some regular quality time together to celebrate our independence. I could not ask for anything more.

You're so lucky to be able to capture this for eternity for the kids to enjoy when they get older. Grandpa took a lot of Kodachrome slides when we were little kids and I got them all now. That's going to be a fantastic memory for the kids.

Fer next time... Bring one of those arch shaped back n forth sprinkler deals. Set it up where you're gonna light the fireworks, turn it on and let the kiddos play in it for a while and get the grass all wet. Then when you set one off sideways it won't burn....as bad. Just a tip from a guy who set 22.5 acres on fire when he was 15 with m80s we smuggled in from South of the Boarder.
Boy Jessica's accent really comes out when she's enjoying life, I wonder what other people think of how we sound, I went to a big city hospital once and the nurses kept asking us if we were from Canada no just the UP
My wife's family is from Wisconsin, not far from the Dells. I love going up there to visit, and that accent is awesome. They say the same thing about mine, which is Texas southern drawl. 😂
@@jrussellcase went up way north and the accent is great being raised in indiana and most of my family being southern and me being born in the south my accent is a little weird

Fun fact. 1982 Volkswagen engine blocks are made of magnesium. Can light up a 40 acre field like it’s daytime if you throw one on a bonfire. Also impossible to extinguish. Give it a try sometime

Back in High School, we lit off a VW block at our secret clearing in the woods. It got brighter, and Brighter, and BRIGHTER! Until we decided to scram and head home before we got caught. From my house 3/4 mile away, you could see the bright glow on the horizon!

This channel just gives and gives and then gives some more. Stay with me on this one. Gonna take a while.
My father was a HUGE fireworks fan. He’d buy everything they offered at whatever stand we’d end up at. It was always epic. Guy at the stand would always give a deal because it would just be a huge pile of fireworks. He loved to see me and my siblings just go crazy at the fourth.
He was a WWII vet, loved this country, loved family, loved people of all kinds and taught all six of his kids to love the same things.
Anywho, he’s been gone for 4.5 years now and everything in this video represents stuff we did as kids with my dad. We had go karts, tractors, mini bikes, lawnmowers, balsa wood gliders and property to do all this stuff on. We were full send 24/7-365…just like this family here.
I miss my dad, mostly around the 4th.
Derek and his family have brought back all those fantastic memories to a feller. Yep. Perfect.
