Hi, here is a problem, two family having the same electrical devices, the public meter shows 658 KW and the meter which measures the expenses for one family 38 KW?
Not enough information in this video every item on that screen should have been explained, I have solar and am trying to figure out feed in vs consumption, how???
The EDMI ATLAS Mk7C meter shown when the voice says "Unlike smart meters, electronic meters do not have communications systems", DOES have the capability for cellular communications. (2G/3G/4G/LTE supported) and is used in Sydney in some of these meters. Nothing wrong with smart meters, but this video is not accurate and just making the political problem worse. ref: www.edmi-meters.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Mk7C-Factsheet-English.pdf
This video is poor very poor. Yes electronic meters that have to be ready by a meter reader coming to the property do exist but the so called one in the video is a EDMI ATLAS Mk7C It is a Smart meter and is read remotely by the electricity supply firm But it has no indoor display unit as standard I understand it was intended for the commercial market So it is 100% Smart meter but cannot be read internally in the normal way but it does have • Up to 3 independently working communication ports: - Optical port: FLAG (IEC 62056-2 does anyone understand if they can be used by the average person If not the meter is a smart meter but with no internal display unit
Power companies have increased peak prices up from 25c Klw/h to 40c Klwh real smart for them.
