Finally some content that isn't about minis! Great to see. This one goes in the saved folder for when I get the courage to give this a try :D
Thanks. Lol you gonna hate the next post then
@@Groundeffected I realise now that my comment could be seen as very asshole-ish depending on what your usual content is about (which I have not yet had time to dig into). Oops... Sorry about that. I randomly stumbled across this video and was just happy that I had been served some content that was not about painting a mini since that seems to be all that the great algorithm is giving me lately.
@@treborrrrr I didn’t read it negatively at all my dude. My content is 90% large stuff but I am posting a mini painting today lol
Bro as a wicked community member I thank you 🙏🏽
Thanks dude.
You don't hold nothing back, its so nice to have people teaching stuff like that for free, in a simple language that even i could understand. Really dude, your channel is awesome, specially tutorials like that
Thanks dude. Thanks for watching!!!
Parting knowledge should be free which comes from the love of empowering others. Thank you, this is the best tutorial that actually is a tutorial.
I like how you actually explain the light source angles and spray direction while layering the colors. So cool man.
Beautiful! Man, that's quality content. We feel very happy to have a person in the community who wants to share knowledge with the rest of us. We will try your secret jutsus and show the result once is complete!! Thank you for taking the time to teach us and hope to see much much much more from you!
It’s a pleasure. Especially painting your amazing models!
dit is zo ongelooflijk geweldig man
Excellent method ive finally got good skin tones. thank you 👍😁
Man that makes me happy!!
Damn man so smooth! Wish I could do that and make it look so easy on my 1/12 headscuplts. I just keep practicing to hopefully get it like that perfection! I don’t air brush unfortunately but that made it look so much easier ..
I love you man, you're amazing. Great artist, explain things in an easy way, fun. Just love it. Keep doing this great job
Spiderman's head changed 🙂
I bought this set you used and I'm having great fun with it, thanks for the recommendation and the how to! I've finally finished a face thanks to this.
Great. I’m glad it helped!! And thanks for watching.
Amazing thank you very much!
Wow..., never realized how much work goes into painting a statues face, totally worth it though, it looks amazing.
Bro he looks amazing! I learnt alot thanks!, never seen anyone else add the blue in the corner of the eyes, to make them look more rounded before, sweet tip.
Thanks dude. Hope it helps you for future paintings.
Thanks !
Awesome!
thanks again !
Thank you for watching!
@@Groundeffected absolutely this is one of my go to channels these days.
Jesus Christ, that was a gorgeous paint job. Thanks for the tips, there's a lot to learn when it comes to just painting, and painting professionally - so it's nice to get some insight into the world of the latter.
Dope tip with the makeup sponge💪🏽
Crazy skills 🤟🏻
God level of painting.
Thanks dude.
i noticed a different head on the model in front of you. excellent video!
You are so much more confident with the air brush than I am. I get stressed and never use the thing sigh… well done
Awesome! Amazing detail, looks great buddy 👍🏼
Thanks very much.
I was wondering where all the awesome South African painters were on You Tube. I'm glad to say I've finally found one! Your tutorial is excellent. I picked up heaps of tips from this video! Nicely done! - Trevor
Lol. Yea I’m South African you got me. Thanks for watching dude.
Great content, Gearing up to paint my first character in 20 years, wish me luck.

Good luck!
Good tutorial. I like seeing how other people’s styles differ from mine. Great work :)

@@Groundeffected oh yes, getting there.😁

DAmn!! thats good man
Great video as usual ! Thanks a lot. When we see what you do it’ seems so easy. When I try to do so difficult. Thanks again. Eric
awesome tut my guy....as freakin usual.....Keep em comin Bruh
Haha thanks dude.
Really impressive, inspired
Thank you.
Incredible and so clearly shown
AWESOME
Thanks jem.
Just commenting for interaction! Great work!
Ah thanks so much dude.
I wouldn't paint the eyeballs straight white. The white part of the eye (sclera) is usually dull instead of a bright white, so I'd maybe mix in a little pink or light blue.
Sure. It’s not white though. It’s more of a parchment colour and I paint grey blue into the corners to shape the eye then a pink line at the base of it.
great video
Another excellent video!!! This is going to help me tremendously! Thank you!
Great! Thanks for watching.
Another great video. Loved all the clear steps
Thank you. And thanks for watching!
Just wanted to say thank you for sharing these videos... I am sub'd and really like all your videos... I have learned alot watching them.. I'm kinda new to painting my prints as in the past I haven't painted them.. but now I got the LONGER LK5 Pro and have made Super Girl, Capt. America , Wonder Woman, and capt Marvel all at 200% so they are about 28" tall.. currently making Wolverine, not the hollywood crap one Logan.. but the ReAL Wolvering from around 1991 comics like a light gold and brown.. very coooo.. thanks again for all you do.. much appreciated ..
Hi Mister,
I'm an absolute beginner in painting and airbrushig but it was EXACTLY what I needed to see today :) A model as I want to paint, not miniature, focusing on face and eyes. EXACTLY what I was looking for , so THANK YOU ! Liked, subscribed and where is the button to make it favorite video ? ;)
Thanks dude. I’m glad you found what you needed man! Thanks for the sub too
Outstanding content as always bro. It’s honestly because of you I’ve actually bought this paint set and an airbrush. 👍
That’s awesome my dude. I will make another one showing how to do it without airbrush too one day. Just catching up with loads of work atm. Thanks for supporting the videos though man.
good video, thanks for making it
Thank you for watching!!
Beautiful mate, thanks!
Amazing! Where have you been for so much time? Haha
We all needed you xD
Keep making content like these!
Thank you. I will do my best to keep them coming.
Very well done!
Thank you 🙏
Brilliant! 😍😍😍
great job!
Thank you.
Awesome job, I am quite curious why you did not show how you did the airbrushing of the freckles? (I am more curios about your colour choice of the freckles). Your work is truly amazing
Thanks he freckles on this one is a natural byproduct of the textures in this sculpt. The darker shadows being sprayed from the bottom and lighter ones on the top helped to emphasise that. Usually I do the freckling at about 3/4 of the way through the skins before the glaze phase and I use that Gilliman flesh contrast to make them.
Awesome
thanks
That’s amazing nice work 👍
Thanks so much. Sorry I took so long to reply. But thank you!
I love your videos!!! Man, can you show technics to make blood and war damage with paint? Tksss from Brazil
I can do a video about that!
OMG, its perfect, I'm 34, but when I grow up I wanna be like you..x,DDDD
Gracias !! muy buena data
Awesome! I wanted to use the link you have to purchase the brush you used in the video ! It’s linking to #4, is that the number used for this video ?
Nah. That was so difficult to link honestly if you click the link then look for 0000 and 00 those are the small ones. A #4 I use for most other stuff not the eyes though.
😍😍😍😍😍
Great video i keep learning alot, my question regard the clear gloss on the eyes ,do you apply it after you seal everything? As i wonder if it will vanish by time if not sealed
Damn dude, amazing work. You just scored another sub.
On a side note, what clear coating do you use to finish off prints and protect the paint? I've tried a bunch of sprays and it always leave me wanting better
Hahah thanks 🙏 um I’m still experimenting with clears but I’m using Vallejo mecha clear coats they are not horrible. But I know what you mean.
The artists at Sideshow use Krylon I believe, if you can get it where you live can give it a try. I’m not that lucky in Spain.
@@josealmazan1592 Cheers for that info mate. I'll have to track it down
Awesome video very informative, I am pretty sure I know what changed but don't wanna ruin it for anyone else 😎, how long do you think just this took in real time ?
This video was filmed over multiple days. Probably around 6-8hrs total paint time
I’ve watched many airbrush videos and one thing most videos miss which I find important is the PSI in which you spray at. What psi?
The thing is that number will be different for everyone. It’s dependent on the thickness of your paint and the airbrush you use. 1 psi too low and it can spit paint and then people will be blaming us for giving false information.
Dude, I was wondering who did this Tom Holland’s face… outstanding paint job!!!
Thanks. Yea it was me.
@@Groundeffected Awesome, mate. I have to ask, that skin texture like freckles and such, did you did that or was sculpted??
Did you ever play that old game on the ps1 called Ground effect? Was really good! .....awsome work as always pal! 🤙
I don’t actually remember hahaha thanks for watching
when you work your way up through the flesh tones on a model with a lot of skin, do you hit every piece with each color to keep it consistent? If you run out of paint in the airbrush, does it freak you out that you might not nail the color again perfectly?
Does Spider-Man have a Tobey Maguire head on now?
Am I allowed to say Tom Holland has brown eyes? This is amazing work, it’s just what I needed, it’s like it was made for me. Woop!
Don’t you dare swear about my Tom Holland!! Lol. Technically Tom has brown eyes but Pete has blue so I’m gonna stick with my guns here. Screw that maguire chap! Hahahah
Hi, forgive my ignorance, I'm a complete beginner who has never picked up a brush before. What is the purpose of using a base brown paint on the eyes? is it to dull down the white? and if so why wouldn't you add a tiny amount of brown to the white paint to get the desired colour and effect. Again sorry for the silly questions but what I know about painting you could write on the back of a stamp! :) great video by the way. You gained another subscriber!
No that dark brown is the outer edge of the eye which shapes the feature. You leave a small amount that colour around the edge of the white.
Do you use this same tecnique when painting shirtless bodies? and also, how did you get those little freckles of pink color to make the skin look more "alive" ? and again, THANK YOU SO MUCH for sharing these tips, quite grateful for you!
Yes exact same process for all skin, well at least for this method. It’s a pretty easy way to get decent results. The freckles or skin pores are actually sculpted on this print. And they are just a by product of painting the grimoire purple from the bottom it put a little bit in each one because of the angle. You can do this by turning down your airbrush till it’s a bit spitty and get a similar result.
Question are you letting the part you painting dry prior to adding next coat of paint with airbrush and regular brush?
Incredible stuff! During the eye section of the video, it looks like the face has freckles, but I didn't see that covered in the video. Was there an explicit step of adding the freckles or did that just come about during the layering with the airbrush and such?
Just saw the explanation in another comment's reply. The purple wash settled into the pores. Very neat!
Ah cool. Sorry only just getting to comments now. Glad you found it.
Hey dude just found your RUclips channel, what psi are you running while you spray? Dig your work
Also what type of air brush are you using?
@Groundeffected What brushes do you use for the eyes?
Wow, which stl is it? I would like to paint it with this video
I see a lot of channels where they are painting miniatures and I come to realize that I can't see their eyes ??? I am going to focus more on models like the ones you work on. XD
This is really great. I have an airbrush that just clogs repeatedly so I'm stuck at step one. :(
Urgh that’s the worst. I’d take it completely apart and soak it in airbrush cleaner or isopropyl alcohol. (Iso can ruin your orings overtime so be aware of that) and give it a good clean. It’s possible you aren’t pushing enough air and also more likely your paint isn’t thin enough to go through the nozzle. Some model paints just won’t go through smaller nozzles at all even thinned they behave like they got an attitude problem. But I’d say just start by thoroughly cleaning the airbrush and working on the paint mix and air ratio
@@Groundeffected Thanks for the reply. I'll give that a try. If you have time for another question, is there an airbrush you would recommend? (Not looking for cheap, looking for good.) I already have a compressor, just want a decent unit. Thx.
@@Radioman-pv5np I use iwata eclipse it’s a really good brand of airbrushes and my preference was the style of the eclipse
@@Groundeffected Thank you!
What changed is the battle damage Spider Man mask...lol
Hahaha I even forgot about that lol
My blahdy waiif always tells me to my face, then rolls my eyes when I haven't taken the bins out within half a millionth of a second.
Also yes, I rate Dat Asses and for some reason I'm time travelling through your vidjeeos that are appearing on my feed now.
What size needle do you use broseph?
Get yourself a polarised filter and it'll get rid of that naHSTEE reflection in der eyes.
Cheers Breeeentyourdad
Is the black coat a primer?
Yea. It’s Vallejo primer.
muito bom,parabens
hi, great video :) what psi do you set when doing faces like this ?
Thank you. I use around 20-22 psi. But really I just use whatever pushes the paint out because some paints are horrid at lower pressure. The thinner it is the lower pressure I find I can go.
@@Groundeffected 10x
Are contrast paints basically inks? Cheers
They’re not like inks. Some of them can behave similar but I’d say they’re more like watered down acrylics. Some colours are super strong and others are more like tints. They’re so different to each other too. So you’ll have to experiment with them to find out what you like them for.
@@Groundeffected thanks, enjoyed the vid 👍, btw what airbrush do u use
i think the eyes are too white. sideshow collectibles use off-white for the eyeballs
Fair enough. I’m not sideshow though.. I don’t try to copy sideshows painting style either I mean I could take it all the way and paint tear ducts and lower eyelashes etc but most people can’t do that and I’m trying to help people to be able to paint semi decent models for themselves.
Yeah way too white. It's the same amount of work to paint off white as pure white
Overall your skintones are very nice, but I think you should spend more time on the eyes.
Fair enough. This was over a year or so ago and I’d only been painting for a year or two by then. I hope my latest models represent better my improvement?
eyes dude... going to start editing all models so their eyes are closed :)
Lol 😂 maybe you should explore decal options if you struggle?
@@Groundeffected not giving up mate
I can't get the paint right even mixing it with thinner. Too runny ir too thick. I gave up
It’s never too runny. You have too much on your brush!
Thanks
