- Join a wildlife removal company from South Florida, Iguana Solutions, for all kinds of adventures involving invasive species in South Florida.
This episode features a new issue with iguanas- getting stuck in "French Storm Drains". The Iguanas go on the roof, dive down the gutters, and end up stuck in these water filled boxes in the ground. You can imagine the issues this customer has when returning from business.
Two young male iguanas are also seen fighting on a sea wall in this episode. A female stands as a spectator until Jessica moves in to catch them all. Over 40 iguanas were removed from this single property in 2 weeks time by Iguana Solutions.

That's an advantage of being high class, too good to do that & easier to pay to do the dirty work
Actually this awesome homeowner used to work at a waste water plant. But he is on vacation and would rather not do all this work in his down time. It also is quite foul and Iguana Solutions is very reasonably priced😁

@@iguanaSnipers Ya I have smelled rotten Iguanas before. Worked in a Morge in Miami back in the early 80s, I could sit & eat my lunch while doing an autopsy.

The special smell is really funny for us watching the video.

We were laughing about it but realize its a problem for you all.
Certainly the home owners will put some sort of drain covers on the downspouts.
It does give you all a job and having a decent job is good.

If you can get lime from a feed store that can help with the smell of death it will also help break down some of the proteins and fats that build up from same
The problem with putting lime down drains is it sets like concrete in any low areas.
Hard work you do. Hopefully the people can cover the drains with screen hardware, prevent this.
Nothing stinks like dead animals.
For those Grodi jobs, I would recommend going to a large animal feed store and buying some disposable OB sleeves. They are thin disposable and go all the way up to your armpit.

Leaf traps over the gutter drains will stop the iguanas getting in.
Probably get them from DIY stores or building material suppliers or guttering suppliers.

Hey Jessica. Always carry a box of long thick surgical glove and disinfectant drain cleaner. You could have used this to rinse out the drain from trap 1 through to the mains just as you ended up doing but disinfect same time. Love your videos...and bendy elbows 😀
She wanted the native bacteria to eliminate the remnants, and the disinfectant would wipe them all out. Good suggestion but not in line with her strategy.
Been waiting for this all week, it's like a date of fun!!!!! When you need to tie your cage instead of zip ties use copper wire #12 its quick and reusable. Gosh saline solution to rinse your nostrils probley won't help!
Nope, need to use Vicks under your nose. It is what we used in the morgue and on other really smelly sites.
You need a kitty litter scoop to clean the drains out.

You are fighting a losing battle but I would say it's good for business. No different than the pythons in the Everglades...non ending battle. I live in Kansas and travel to Lake of the Ozarks regularly, over 40+ years. Lived in Oklahoma when I was younger and I never saw a Armadillo. Now I see them dead on the highway, a lot, all the way to Central Missouri! I see many on the highway from being run over by cars, there are a lot more out there just as the Iguanas and pythons in Florida. Great business model...non ending supply! And it certainly won't end no matter how many you capture . Love watching Jessica shoot them, great shooting!

Encourage your customers to use the screen that goes over the tops of the gutters to keep leaves and sticks out....should keep out the iguanas as well. And young lady you have a stomach of steel! Bless you for doing a job very few would even consider. Mike in central Florida

Ewwww! Glad it was you doing that and not me which would have ended up like a drunk from puking movie. Can only imagine how putrid that must be. God bless you for going the distance, hope that tip was worth it gal. Using the bag as a glove is genius, I thought I was one of very few that do that. If Walmart or grocery stores still bag up your goods with the plastic stirrup bags they work great as long as you double them up. A bunch of them stuffed in an old stocking don't take up much room either. I figure it is better than letting them blow around.
They should build those drains with some type of clean out cage in the bottom so all you have to do is lift out the cage , clean it and re-insert it . These were probably built pre-Iguana infestation but maybe they can be retrofitted for easy clean out . Jessica definitely had her hands full on that job . I agree bleach in a drain isn't the way to go but a little bleach in a bucket of water would be what I would want to wash my hands in ( up to my elbows ) after I was done . Might even be tempted to skip lunch that day too .

Those drains looked nasty, I bet they smelt worse, I might have needed danger money and a gas mask rubber gloves combo to clean those out, well done for just using bags and a screwdriver.

And yes! We have about 30 iguana boxes. We recently started selling a stainless steel version that is rust proof for sea walls. I am super excited. Patent pending

I did plumbing work for a few years, nasty, hated it. Had to crawl under a house to find dead cats, had to shower in bleach to get the smell off!!!!!!
Did he have someone cut a square wire meah to fit in the bottom of the gutter over the down spout hole, just set the corners in a little caulk it would keep the little pests out of there.

fyi go to top of gutter to flush out the drain. also, behive the top of downspout to prevent further critters from that horrible fate

Why do you not find a pole that you can put a reel on....10/12 foot Sea fishing pole... or pole vault pole... might be to heavy... one made of fiberglass/graphite etc. and reel...Are you regulated by the Govt. as all business, are... and I know how the govt sticks its nose in on every thing!!! I used to have one on my snares but it would get caught up and cause issues...it was a small piece of metal with 2 holes bent at about 45 degrees....is that what you had in mind? Or somethin else?
