Been wondering which pattern to use in making a quilt from my Grandmother’s handmade clothes material remnants; because they are so special to me , I’ve waited years to find the right one. THIS IS THE ONE! Beautiful and simple exactly like she was. Thank you Ladies! Much appreciated from Texas. Shari
This is the same one that Jordan fabrics makes. With the string piercing so check it out. She used fat 8ths and background fabric . And is a free pattern.
I have made quilts from all my folk's clothing. I still have more. I did not even worry if the pieces were not "quilting cotton", much of it was knits. But it all worked and this WOULD BE a perfect showcase of beloved fabrics or fabrics from beloved people. The pieces will be large enough touch and remember. Grandma will be hugging you in this! Have fun making it with her!💕
Exactly what I thought even before she got to doing it in Christmas fabric, huh! Especially if the fabric is ornaments too.Wonder what a creamy poinsettia background would look like (white on white or not much color).
Wow!Jennie, you look great!Congrats on weight loss and love your hair.Your tutorials are wonderful. I have probably seen 90% of them and have learned so much. This chandelier quilt is beautiful.Thank you . Maureen
I absolutely love the Chandelier quilt. It's beautiful and would love to make it soon. It looks easier than I expected, but I've only been quilting since July, so I'm bound to make a mistake somewhere, as I've made plenty in the several projects I've made so far. Saying that, today I finished a quilt top without making any mistakes, and got all my seams aligned and nested perfectly for the first time. So heres hoping I can continue doing so 🤞Thankyou for the Chandelier tutorial 💞
How pretty 💗💗 That could be done so many different color variations!! Dark backgrounds, too! That would almost give it a stained glass look if you used bright colors on the dark background.
I tought this quilt last summer to my quilting class. I t was called "Beads" from Jordan Fabrics free patterns. Thank you for a little different method of construction and fabric color. It is always fun to see a quilt in a different color. Thanks from Texas Barbara
@@keeliemann7834 we quilters know there are no "new" patterns out there, just new ways to cut and piece., and easier quicker ways to achieve the same, Jenny has opened up a whole new generation of quilters with her ..eye.
I love the vibrancy of the Christmas quilt; so pretty! Have you ever considered laying out a whole quilt on your design board during these tutorials? In other words, show how to make a block, then have all the other ones pre-made. Then, move over to your design board to show us how to lay out the quilt all together. Thank you for the weekly tutorials. I always look forward to them!
@@haleyhautzinger7556 I've only made one quilt so far on point, but I layed out the blocks on our spare room bed. It's very easy once you see it all layed out that way! The rows are just sewn diagonally - sew the setting triangles to the end blocks, sew pairs, lay them back, then sew the pairs together and the row is done! Next the rows, quilt is finished!
Donna Jordan on RUclips walks to a big table and lays put the blocks, switches them to show options, etc. Maybe the studio at MSQC dies not have the space, lighting, etc. I agree, a flat display works.
@@haleyhautzinger7556 I bought a plastic table cloth with felt on the back at the 99c store and pinned it to my hall wall using my used sewing machine needles to hold it up (holes don't show on the wall when you want to take it down) and use it as a design wall. The blocks stick to it and you can preview it as you go.
@@haleyhautzinger7556 Go to Jordan Fabrics tutorials on RUclips. It is easy to understand once you see the layout on the table. The rows are sewn on the diagonal, but best to lay the whole quilt out first. The triangles are sewn on after the quilt is together. I plan on making this quilt since it is so pretty.
Leila Boutique’s fabric lines are always so gorgeous. The pattern is beautiful, and I’m so delighted that Jenny showed me how to make it! I’m always so much more confident when Jenny shows me how to cut and sew.
This is such a beautiful quilt., I just finished one, and boy oh boy it was a beast. It isn't a hard quilt block, but I struggled with having the blocks going the right way, I had one directional fabric, so I had to make sure it went the same way all throughout. I unpicked a LOT. Got it all laid out and then while sewing, I got it turned around and then there were too many of the same block together, so unpicking again. Then I had to make 2 new blocks to make it so that the fabrics were spread out better. This one was a challenge for me, but it turned out very nicely after all the unpicking and resewing. Whew!! Glad it's done and I can move on to another one of your beautiful quilts. My mistake was cutting out too many of the fabrics I had, then sewing them together in a random way, not paying attention to how many I needed. Next time I'll be more intentional in my quilting. Thanks for 15 years of a wonderful company and your videos just keep getting better, just like beautiful women, better w/age
You are an EXCELLENT teacher!!! I've had professional teachers from elementary school to grad school who COULDN'T teach but you are REALLY good. I enjoy your videos and they are NEVER dull or too fast. THANK YOU!!
I have made a Chandelier quilt and she’s right, it goes together very quickly. Mine was made in Art Gallery prints and solids for a boho chic look, a gift for a young couple we know. This pattern would look good in any style of fabric!
Another "Must Do" from Jenny! Iwas thinking as I was watching that this would be a good way to use orphan 5" squares. When I downloaded the pattern I saw that Vanessa suggests to use scraps as well, having the smaller squares a "similar" fabric to the main one. Looks easy to make fewer or more rows to make a bigger or smaller quilt. I don't have a design board so I lay out my blocks on the spare room bed! Happy sewing and cheers from 🇨🇦🍁
A hint to help with your board. What I did was buy a tablecloth with Flannel backing at the Dollar store. Dollar Tree, Dollar General, Family Dollar, etc., they all have them. Just make sure it has the Flannel back. It makes a great design wall. I have used mine for 2 years and its still as strong as it was new. It only cost me $1.50
Love this and you Jenny you are amazing. Can’t wait to put this one together. Have to go look through mine charm packs. Have a great day at Missouri star. Hope to see you soon.
I love this so much! This is the perfect size. Thank you Vanessa for releasing the pattern. I love any quilt that uses 2 charm packs as this is often how I purchase charm packs. Vanessa, your fabrics are simply gorgeous. I'm so excited to get going on this particular quilt.
Giving credit where credit is due - Donna Jordan, Jordan Fabrics, released her free Beads pattern in her August 12, 2019 video. Vanessa Garrettson's Chandelier pattern is identical to Donna Jordan's pattern in both block layout and quilt orientation. Maybe just coincidence, so let's give Donna Jordan recognition for the Beads pattern she developed in 2019.
@@izzyizzy8490 I totally agree with you, but if you watch Donna's tutorial you will see that she starts with different fabric requirements for her prints (Fat eighths), cuts them into strips and sews them into strip sets which she cuts up into units to construct her blocks, so totally different block construction. So while in the end, you end up with the exact same quilt, the actual 'patterns' and method of getting there are quite different. So maybe this does qualify as a whole different pattern?
@@izzyizzy8490 OK, , ,I have to back pedal here. If you go to Vanessa's blog, you will see that this is from a book she published 4 years ago as of March 2021, so actually this version was out first, , ,

Ever since this video went live, I have not been able to get the pattern out of my head! I'm using this pattern to make a cherry quilt with cherry fabrics to honor Traverse City, Michigan (a vacation place my family goes to every summer). Thank you for this wonderful tutorial and for all of your tutorials!!! I look forward to each new video you post!
This was an interesting pattern, however, when you showed the quilt using Christmas fabric, my eyes widen. A great idea for Christmas, multiple thanks.
