  • In this video we check out an amazing Partscaster (Telecaster) that I picked up for $330. This baby is amazing. It has 62 Fender Pickups in it, a licensed by Fender All Parts neck and what I believe to be an All Parts body and original USA Fender vintage tuners, control plate and bridge. The neck on this guitar is amazing, and is also the fattest neck I've ever felt on a guitar.,.. and that includes my Kotzen Tele and a Paul Gilbert Ibanez Fireman! I disassemble the guitar in the video and feature all the parts and pieces. I also provide a professionally recorded audio demo of the guitar using a few patches on my Fractal AX8. I hope you enjoy the video. Let me know what you think of this Partscaster. Please subscribe!

5:51 Handy hint: if reusing the strings when you’re taking off the neck, just loosen them and place a capo at the first fret - that saves all the faff of reattaching the unwound strings especially 👍

I left my capo at the shop I work at. 😩. I almost never do work at home anymore.

i love partscasters honesty, through the years ive bought and sold many 80's and 90's squire strats and they are amazing platforms. great experience as well refinishing and rewiring

Agreed. I have used bunches of Squier Strats and Teles to do all kinds of mods, and turn them into really cool projects, and ultimately, great guitars. A lot of fun.

Really cool! As a person who's rebuilt cars, motorcycles, guitars, and of course houses I firmly believe if you source your own parts and take your time you can always build better than you can buy.
    Sounds killer.

Save the money on the body and neck. Get a slab, print a template for free and build one from scratch. you're still in on all the hardware and electronics, but that stuff can be sourced without spending a lot of money. I'm into the one I'm building right now around $300, that's covering pickups, bridge, saddles, nut, frets, tuning machines, jack, pots, etc. Explorer is next on the docket. That Tele sounds really nice...great tone! You got a sweet deal on that.

I took my Squier Classic Vibe 50’s Telecaster and modded it. It has Alnico III pickups in it that look exactly like the ‘62 Pickups, and I routed it with a smugglers rout, put an arm cut & a belly carve on it. Swapped out the electronics with a solderless set. The body modifications took 2.5lbs off a 10lb guitar. Now it weighs a reasonable 7.5lbs. I put a short scale - 24.75” scale compound radius 10”-16” Warmoth Neck on it. I love the thing now. It’s always ready to be played.

A few years ago I came across a Lyon Washburn MIK telecaster, I spent $40 and it’s by far the best tele that I ever had, I sold all the others including my American Fender. Sometimes is not the brand of the instruments but the person who put it together, if carries the soul and the love that of that someone..

Parts built guitars are an outstanding value especially a good relic .. some folks hate relic guitars .. if they are done right they are fantastic. I have to say your tone on your vids are some of the best I have heard on RUclips .. you could probably play a 2 by 4 with strings wrapped around nails with a 10 dollar microphonic pickup and it would sound epic lol good stuff👊🏻

Additionally .. The story alone on this one is worth more than 300 clams bro… I have a 1 of 2 hand painted relic’d Page dragoncaster built by a boutique builder Crucible guitars out of LA CA. Took them 6 months to build and heavy relic .. all parts rosewood neck 3.5 lb ash body lollar pickups light nitro all fender parts .. neck is like butter .. the builders journey and story was well worth the cost alone .. it was way more than 300 tho.. cheers🤘🏻

This guy doesn't necessarily know his guitars. That isn't a vintage style Telecaster output jack plate. The switch to phillips head screws started very early on Fender guitars (1951). There was a transition period that was over by the end of 1953. Sixties Fenders never had flat head screws.
