I enjoyed the coins from centuries past. The checks from the 1600s was interesting. There was certainly a solid banking system in place at that time, impressive. Shows a very prosperous and successful England! I appreciated the educational puzzles and quizzes categorized by age group. This was a nice new experience to learn about for me. Blessings.

Hi Steve. The display of slavery and the bank would be fascinating to examine. My children's great grandfather was from Grenada, as I see it listed here. I would wonder if his given surname would be listed on the archives. I'm sure the family name was not originally Sylvester. We have so many plans once we arrive in London, I hope we can get to the Bank of England museum. My hubby Matt would definitely love to crack open that safe 😃

My Sunday treat and I got out of work early too 🙌 !!!!! I would love 💘❤💕😍 to hold a gold bar. I wouldn't have thought that there would be a display about slavery there but it is so important to remember how people suffered and how many died. Seeing all those different coins, notes and checks must have been so interesting 🤔. The million pound check was made out for me and I have been looking for it so I am glad it was found. Had more in it than I thought. Nobody can beat inflation these days though it would be fun to try. Hope you are coping with the heat. I have been reading 📚 about it. We weren't happy at 95 so I 🤷😕🙄😒 can't imagine 104. Hope it doesn't happen again 😕.

Thanks Lesley, always great to read your comments on a Sunday and so glad they found your cheque. Yes it was good to see the display about slavery and a really reflective part of the trip. Heat has now calmed back down to normal summer temps and it was interesting that the heat was causing runways to melt! Not prepared here for extreme heat or cold! Have a great week....:)
